I couldn't find this video on youtube, so I decided to post it, cuz the first time I've watched it, despite i wasnt already too bad at this game, i was totally mind blowed !
The item used to do this is called Hourglass, it's a rare item, for further info have a look at the comments.

First time I'm seeing this. Regardless of items used the combo is still impressive in my opinion.

Damn lol I still remember discovering this video around 2005 it totaly blowed up my mind swell even tho i've already finished the game haha good job
I like how only 2.10 grade was awarded despite the huge number of combos.
@mattmattmattm Abyssion had a similar ability on mania difficulty in the Japanese version, it was called Time Stop. He's getting his just desserts now.

How the heck did you get so many Hourglasses?! Did you got them all naturally with Zelos?!
Either way, this vid is pretty awesome. It's funny seeing Abyssion getting his butt kicked by 4 kids. (Yeah, I know Presea is older than them.)
You know, if you had bought that one option with the "increased EXP points with increased combo" at the beginning of the game, you'd have raked in a whole bunch of EXP points in this battle.
I bet the guy playing as Genis was having fun...

@MrXisco95 It's not in the NTSC-U version either. I think the localizsed versions dicked us out of a lot of stuff.
Using items makes it go down a little. Apparently the awesomeness they display only counters that just enough.
where in the world do you get the hourglass item? ive played through tales of symphonia couple of times and I've never come across

I decided to defeat abyssion after a came out of welgaia and before i went the tower of salvation where zelos betrays you and i used all divide on abyssion and about an hour later of chipping his health with my weapons about 12 damage a hit the brute finally fell
how the hell do you get hourglasses anyway. am i just missing them around or where they taken out of european version? besides this was quite funny to watch to see the most annoying boss i know in all rpg games i played be beaten like that.

I dunno if its more cheap to use hourglasses like that or to use the infinite combo with colette haha

i think using items and how much time it takes to beat the enemy are factors in how much grade u recieve after a fight.
Damn, that's a hella lot of EXP. Too bad there's not much Gald or GRADE. Once the Combo started, poor Abyssion couldn't even attack back or block. XP

hahha! Sweet Trick! haha xD one time I got a hourglass but I waste it by accident vs forscystus! hahahahah you made Genis be in Manual mode right? so he couldnt move and you tell him to use the hourglass whenever you needed it!
@yoshi12335 easy it's the valkryie weapon to get it u have to go to the arena at meltokio u go to single and use lyold and win the match and also u have to finsh orgin and get the sacred stone before u do that
Just have high luck with him, or two rabbit's foots equipped.

wow im suprised u got genis's weapon from the coloseum when i battle with genis ther i alwaya equip the disaster cause it does masive damage im sure u know why anyway the battles in the colosium with genis on advanced and quickly , either u die or the enemie dies

get all the devils arms and then meet him at the temple of darkness i think. u gotta talk to him in flanoir first though

Not really, I've gotten 8 hourglasses in my English gamecube version. Just make Zelos have about 130 luck and have him talk to women alot. You'll get almost nothing but Rune Bottles, Hourglasses, Miracle Gels, Gald, and maybe the occasional other rare item.

he waisted a lot of hourglasses...each one lasts exactly 7 seconds...he was using one after only 4 seconds at least.....

Abyssion is a pain to find AND to beat, he's all the way down in the shadow temple.
NOTE: You NEED to have all the devil's arms weapons in order to fight him. You can't have them equipt because then it doesn't work to talk to him. He's standing there after you talk to him in the snow city I think. Been a while since I plaed the game, hmmm, maybe I should^^ Anyway, he is a, I repeat, PAIN! I wish the best of luck in kicking his butt.

Use Zelos' personal skill and talk to all the women in a city meltokios the best, and theres a rare chance you'll find one

You get the hourglass randomly from women when you talk to them using zelos with personal ex gem. I think your luck has to be really high or something like that.
