- Even though it's fairly obvious, I should clarify that this solo was not played by me. This was a solo uploaded in 2011 by a Japanese Symphonia player named viewlagoon who was known for soloing Abyssion while taking no damage with every character. Recently, they privated all of their Symphonia videos but I felt the need to preserve this Kratos solo in particular. This solo is incredibly far ahead of its time and there's honestly still nothing like it. The way he uses arte learning to utilize so many different artes in battle is just magnificent. It wowed me as a child and it still does today. If viewlagoon unprivates their videos or asks me to take this down, I will take it down immediately.
A random personal anecdote I have with this video is that I remember there was a comment smack talking me and my videos in the comment section. It was a bit strange to have someone calling me bad on a video that I've loved since I was little haha.
Original Description:

4+4+4 Aerial Spell (エリアルスペル)
this video changed my whole perspective on how Symphonia gameplay could look back in the day
Same here!
I have all of his stuff downloaded and backed up. Alongside a ton of other old Tales videos that may eventually go away.
please can you share that with me T_T
They're LAGOONS, Dwight.
Was really sad to see they privated all their stuff. Their Sheena solo was what inspired me as a kid to start doing solo challenges in games!
Oh what a blast from the past. You can actually see Indignation Judgements lightning strikes!
Wow, 360p. That’s a true classic right there.
Definitely appreciate you preserving this, as I’d never seen his stuff before. And man, I can see why it’d be such a game changer. I don’t even understand half of what’s happening here and I’m impressed.
Yeah this solo is still pretty insane by today's standards. Learning artes mid-solo to combo is still something no one has really dabbled with other than viewlagoon. There are plenty of Symphonia solos from this era that I look back on fondly that don't hold up too well, but this is still gameplay worth striving towards honestly. My only real critique of viewlagoon is that he made everyone only want to solo Abyssion when there are so many other bosses in the game lol.
Bruh this isn't even a solo run, this is sorcery 💀
Imagine watching this back in 2011 lmao. From my perspective as a 10 year old, viewlagoon's gameplay looked like a literal god had picked up the controller.
@@HorangiTiger Bold of you to assume this isn't still our impression 13 years later
Wow that is amazing for the no damage run i really like this video!
Probably my fav run from Lagoon. Man was way ahead of the game. Thanks for keeping this one alive in this respect. 🙏
No problem! It would have bothered me if this gem of a solo wasn't viewable on TH-cam.
Certified hood classic
I only just read the description nooo dude that’s sad 😭, thx for preserving this.
I don't know what led to them privating their stuff, but I absolutely loved their videos. They got me through a lot of hard times and amazed me with how absolutely revolutionary their stuff was.
I think this person is probably among the main reasons why I felt I was a garbage Symphonia player and how different versions of the game can affect just how high the skill ceiling could get. Their Presea vs Abyssion video to this day is nothing short of an eye-opener. Understanding that Presea, if you really know how to use her, can outperform most of the cast at the peak of skill was just absolutely amazing to me.
Presea's Hi Ougi + Ex-Skill combination being showcased like an old car taking multiple attempts to wind up but then suddenly driving along the highway at 500 mph made me feel like there was so much to learn about Symphonia and the smaller, unnoticed things you're meant to disregard.
This game was so good battle wise when it first came out and I think a lot of people don't appreciate how good it was for it's time back then 😭, this will always be my favorite game, I don't care how biased my view is, this is the only game where I got sad when it was over, I've never experienced that with any other game in my life 😭 sure I was 13 when I first played it but I still love it even though I can see it's flaws way more now and know it's not perfect, I never not enjoy playing it ❤️, if somehow tales of the abyss it's battle system made it into symphonia I think a lot of people would like symphonia more than I sadly sometimes hear now, new players really struggle with the 2d fighting. Thanks for uploading this as a kid I would watch these and be so impressed, no clue how the person did these combo's, thanks for the nostalgia ❤️ fun fact: tales of the abyss it's battle system (free walk etc) was actually developed for symphonia but they took it out because it would make the game too easy.
I played symphonia much later it was my 5th tales game I finished it last year I loved it very much It's fantastic no biased here it has issues but. Still good I love it's gameplay and characters
Strange that he'd private them now as I don't think view had been active in some years last time I checked his channel (think the last video was about half a decade ago?). Appreciate you reupping the video by the way, this ones also a bit of a favorite of mine along with his Lloyd solo.
Yeah I have no idea why he decided to private his videos over a decade later. Had to at least reupload this one though! Tales TH-cam would not feel right without it.
Thank you for uploading the accomplishments he has erased 😭😭😭
If you jump from his Twitter to his blog, you can see that he joined "Bandai Namco Research Inc.", but I don't know the cause and effect...
I would love to see his other videos!
(I used Deepl)
Wow, so Kratos has Akainu's voice. Amazing!!
I saw your post earlier, glad that somebody had a copy somewhere.
That jumping.
What i still don't understand: how is he casting all those instant fireballs, stone blasts and lightnings?
Also, thanks a lot for re-uploading this. I think this solo is awesome indeed.
The instant casts are a compound EX skill called Aerial Spell. It allows Kratos/Zelos to instantly cast basic spells after an air attack!
@@HorangiTiger oh my god, that only exists in the PS2/PS3/PC/Switch version, right?
It exists on every version of the game ;)
@@HorangiTiger Okay i just found out, it actually exists on Gamecube as well. I have it now, but it won't trigger. What am i doing wrong... xD
Edit: Oh my, the timing is tight. How did this guy do it so precisely... this is insane.
Do you have the Zelos in speedo vs Abyss? Loved that one.
This vid and yhe colette ones were my fav
By watching the thumbnail, I almost thought that you were playing the PS2 version (lol). Since Abyssion has red hair in this version.
I've never played the PS2 version :p
i remember seeing this videos back when i played symphonia for the first time... do you know where can i get the raine one?
Sorry, I don't know where you can get the Raine solo viewlagoon did!
Discupen alguien sabe si se puede hacer spell cancel en la version ps4/5 de tos?
anyone have the presea solo?
How did you get the video if it was deleted?
I happened to have this video downloaded on my Google Drive since I really liked this one!
@@HorangiTiger ah i see. Well it is a very impressive thing that he did
Peak Symphonia, its honestly crazy that nothing since has tried to incorporate Arte *learning* into a legit combo game. I dont blame others for not trying their hand at it since the amount of planning and potential trial and error must be staggering. Viewlagoon really was just a whole different breed of player.
Real sad to hear that the guy basically took all his stuff down. Really hope the guy is mentally well and safe, and that someday he'll put it all back up. But for now, RIP to a legend... 🫡
Yeah, I've dabbled with learning artes mid-solo after being inspired by this video. It's pretty annoying to set-up and it feels pretty inconsistent in-battle which makes it feel bad to try and incorporate so I never went through with it. This solo is so impressive because he managed to incorporate all these learned artes in a no damage run which is insane (even if PS2/GC Abyssion isn't too hard).
