Whenever I visit a new mom there’s a few things I do in case others are wanting ideas on what can be helpful for new parents: 1. I don’t ask to hold the baby. If mom offers, I’ll accept but I never ask. 2. I always bring a casserole that can be frozen for later or thrown into the oven and is ready to go. Bonus if you bring plates/utensils etc! I like to do a casserole because sometimes they get many dishes at once and then they’re overwhelmed with trying to eat everything before it goes bad. That’s why it’s always ready for the oven, or freezer! 3. I always (not in an obvious way) look to see if I can do something, and offer to do it. Maybe it’s the dishes, or vacuuming since that’s a big no postpartum. Fold laundry etc. 4. I don’t over stay. I know it’s nice to see the baby, and to talk. But sometimes mom is just trying to stay awake, or is struggling with breastfeeding. So don’t stay half the day! 5. If mom has older children, see if you can take them to the park, to your house to play etc. It’s nice when you have a little time with just your new baby. I will sometimes depending on the person/situation offer to help with the older kids/baby if they are in desperate need of a little nap or maybe want to shower. But if they say no, respect that and don’t push them.
@@ClancyBurkeX after having a few babies you start to know what is helpful and what to avoid. 😅😂 I would eventually love to become a postpartum doula. But right now my focus is on my own children. ♥️
@@brooklin_bernek I’m so sorry, it’s never easy when you’re doing it alone! You may want to see if you can find a postpartum doula in your area. I wish I was able to be of help but I’m assuming you’re likely not in Michigan? 😅
I agree with Zac! They should have something more comfortable for the support person. My husband is 6 feet 4 inches and all he had was a tiny couch. I had a c-section and could barely move. He was taking care of the baby when I wasn’t feeding him. Also, you are doing awesome. Thank you for keeping it real. We had a rough go of it when we brought him home too, and I wish there was more videos that showed the hard stuff. My parenting list went out the window the moment he was born, lol.
I’ve heard men say the same as Zac about what “Dad” should bring to the hospital. He has a valid point. Yes, it’s all about “Mom” but Dad’s matter also. You gotta love how he was trying to double down on the not researching part. Just do as you’re told. Classic Zac. 🤣
I’ve never heard of the black blood puking. I’ve had 3 kids. But I can see how that can happen. The nurses and doctors would be there all day if they had to explain all the maybes that can happen and we already have to learn enough esp as a first time mom (and dad). It’s already information overload! I say all that but I’m sure he was very caught off guard and I would feel the same! ❤ you guys are doing a great job. It’s such a blessing to have grandparents or whoever you trust to be able to help with the baby.
I was blown away by all those items you purchased for the baby. All blessings that these conveniences exist and surely makes life easier during this hectic time.
*Zac was eating those popcorners while yall were playing the card game when you told him you were pregnant. so i’m with clancy on this one, Zac def eats them all* 😜
I also feel like I haven't stepped up the way I should have when my friends had babies. I really didn't understand motherhood at all until I had my baby a month ago.
Zac, we were blessed to get a delivery suit in our Hospital. Daddy bed and meals included. Baby's will lactate as well and have what seems like a period. I was freaked when my daughter had blood on her diaper. Nurse said it was normal. You guys are doing wonderful. Grandma looks great full Joy and love
OMG 😂! I love Zac letting it all out about the needs of Dad. I totally agree with him! Clancy, you are doing awesome! I love how everyone is supporting you. Your mom is a Godsend! All the best to you guys on growing that cute little guy! ☺️
Clancy Thank you for always making such a wonderful wonderful vlogs for us and I am always always happy to see your vlogs May God Bless You Always Always😭😭💗💗✨
This is so exiting!!! I have missed some of your videos the last few month but now i’m catching up and i’m so happy baby boy is here!!!❤❤❤❤ congratulations
Happy Saturday, Clancy!😊😊😊😊😊😎☀💙💙💙💙💙💙🍁🌷🍁💖💖💖💖💖💖🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇👍. You, Zac and Asher are the greatest protectors in the world. Strong, tough and fabulous. I like it!😀😍💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙👍
Bc it is most of us are alive and our moms didn’t do all this research my mom didn’t even have pre natal care bc she wasn’t here legally and I’m alive and good healthy
Hands free pump looks amazing! We didn’t use the nursery for our guy except changing diapers and now our little 3 month old- same thing so we didn’t even do much in that room. I also love your bottle warmer!!!
Boy, Having a baby has changed so much now. Back in the 80's and 90's most of us did not have nursery or special contraptions. I was the bottle washer. I remember coming home from delivering an almost ten pound baby and a week later cooking an entire Thanksgiving dinner for the whole family this included shopping and planning and clean up. All by myself. Hubby worked long hours and grave yard shift. Times have changed so so much.
My husband worked out of town when I had my daughter. He went back after a few days. I was alone with her for 1-2 weeks at a time. No grocery or food delivery other than pizza at that time. We decided to move where he was working so I packed up an apartment and we moved when she was 6 weeks old.
Clancy, my husband and I went to a Braves game about a week after I quit breastfeeding, my son was 18 months old, he was home with my mother in law, I forgot to bring a pump. It was miserable omg I was so engorged, my husband had to help if you know what I mean 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Made me laugh when you talked about the hospital photos. I had the same experience! I swore it wasn’t my baby when I saw the photos she took. They just bathed him so he was all red and his hair stood straight up. I was shocked when I saw them and was so embarrassed I didn’t know what to say so I just bought ALL the photos!! Haha
The sleepiness will get better. I think it has something to do with the hormone your body releases while breastfeeding. For me, it felt like I was being drugged as I fed my baby. Eventually that stopped though. I think he was around 10-12 weeks old when it got better
Great job, Momma❤ ! I breastfed exclusively,my two boys . I Didn’t have a breast pump or any kind of a pump. Believe me when I tell you, you do not dry up! But if you’re going to work, or having other people feed with bottles, You probably need to Pump . I had my kids in the early 80s. It was such a different time. All my friends breast-fed, it was no big deal. Nobody said to cover up or go somewhere else or any of that. It was a really good time!
Your hair looks good. It really looks healthy and shiny. With our first baby, I ordered the biggest package of newborn pictures offered, which I would never recommend because you don't need many overpriced newborn portraits. We had one boy, and we are Caucasian. When they delivered our pictures, they were pictures of twin black baby girls. They couldn't have gotten that more wrong. They refused to refund our money because we opened the pictures. We couldn't know they weren't our pictures if we hadn't opened them. I just left them with the hospital in case the twins' parents came looking for their baby pictures, but we never got our son's pictures (this was before all pictures were digital) and we had paid a very large amount for them. I never ordered newborn pictures again with our other children. We just took our own until our 3 month old professional pictures.
I was selfishly scared that your amazing content will decline (lol) after the baby, because of, well, taking care of a baby, but it's better than ever!
This is probably because she IS a good Mom and trying to protect her child’s privacy. He isn’t old enough to give consent to have a social media presence. I applaud her for this!
Who all wants to hear grandma's thoughts on new baby Decker? I bet she's in love❤

Can we be friends , I have none lol after moving and it suck’s so much 😢

Making a meal is worth so much more than any gift. So kind of them.
It’s really sweet how much you still make the puppy a priority ❤

I’m glad Asher is going to grow up with Decker. He’s the perfect dog for your family
I love how Zac explained it ❤
Zac unpacking the groceries just made my week. 😂 two handfuls of chocolate bars, “we talked about dinner” ……. lol girl dinner. 😂
Hahaha I should’ve said that 😂😂
I laughed out loud during your grocery haul when Zac pulled out all of the chocolate.
Here for the Asher as a big brother content! 💙 🐾

Omg Zac sounds so much like my husband! "Just listen to the doctors, there's not that much to research" 🤣 "it's fine"
Why are they like this 😂
Bc it is most of us are alive and our moms didn’t do all this research my mom didn’t even have pre natal care bc she wasn’t here legally and I’m alive and good healthy

Crockpot recipes for the win. Let it slow cook for 8 hours by the evening dinner is ready!

You are so lucky baby will take a bottle! Our little guy would only BF. It is so hard to get a few hours away.
Do you any Christmas gift ideas for new parents? My daughter in law will be having our 1st grandchild any day now.

Ahhh that’s good to know!! That’s a perfect way of putting it and exactly how I feel 😅

Omg!!! That’s insane that they wouldn’t refund you - I would’ve been so mad!
Did you get a new necklace? Looks so good 🤍
Yes!! It was my “push present” from zac 🩷
There is a class action lawsuit against Lindt chocolate for high metals Lead found in their "excellence" chocolate. Be aware.

There is a huge chance that in the labor room the nurses will not instruct the father on what to do every step of the way 😭😳

@ yes very true
What’s the point of breastfeeding AND pumping? Not a mom yet, but just want to learn more 📝
That way I’m not the only one feeding him!!
Thanks for the info!
