Inspired by watching boring Transformers action figure reviews, the ShartimusPrime youtube channel was launched in 2008. Engaging the audience with an edgy sense of humor for adult collectors, action figure collecting has never been this fun, and videos are posted daily! Unexpectedly, the channel became more popular for Marvel Legends reviews and Spider-Man, Avengers, and X-Men collection display videos. After a few years, the channel has branched out to review other figure properties aside from Marvel Legends and G1 Transformers Masterpiece. Hot Toys, Star Wars, Diamond Select Toys, DC Collectibles, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Dragon Ball Z, Attack on Titan, Godzilla, Evil Dead, and The Walking Dead toy lines have all been added to the roster of nearly 2,000 video reviews. Japanese import figures from SH Figuarts, Bandai, Figma, Square Enix, and Medicom MAFEX have been favorites as well. More recently, Kotobukiya Statues (including the very sexy Bishoujo line) and NECA Toys have become more prevalent on the channel. Being a big fan of movies such as Spider-Man, Batman, X-Men, Iron Man, Captain America, The Avengers, Evil Dead, Pacific Rim, Aliens, and other films has lead the channel in the direction of also reviewing movies, movie trailers, blu ray releases, and tv shows. News updates for 2016 releases and beyond are also posted. Audience engagement is a big part of this channel, with giveaways and fan mail being read publicly once a week in the PO Box Pick-Up videos. Impressive “Shart-Art” is shared via social media and included in the opening theme song. The audience is also kept up to date with any changes to the channel, along with recent comic book pick-ups, unboxings, and action figure hauls. Stop-motion segments punishing the popular meme of the Big Time Let Down Spider-Man close most of the comparison segments, and are compiled together for guaranteed access to patrons. Lastly, all figure reviews close with a slideshow featuring dynamic poses of the figure inspired by ACBA, with the added bonus of music performed and recorded by ShartimusPrime himself.

I believe that "Beast vs Beast" fight was what led to the Black/Dark Beast taking 616's place in the X-Men unbeknownst to them.
It's amusing you think the 5'11 Hank McCoy should be bigger than the 5'11 Hank McCoy, but then again most Marvel Legends collectors think certain characters SHOULD be bigger (No shade, just a fact), even if it puts em outta scale.
You're right. X-Men Unlimited #10 ("Need to Know") written by Mark Waid was released on January 23rd, 1996. Hank's status quo of being shackled in a cell lasted until X-Factor #126 ("The Beast Within") written by Howard Mackie came out on July 10th, 1996. So the Dark Beast was a member of the Uncanny X-Men for five and a half months or 169 days. On the subject of Apocalypse's height in this timeline, there's one panel in Amazing X-Men #3 ("Parents of the Atom") where Andy Kubert depicted En Sabah Nur as frighteningly gigantic next to Magneto.

I love that Hasbro is selling “baf” in boxes now
agree, there are people complaining that it diminishes the baf concept or devalues the work they did, but I think that when it comes to comic characters, Hasbro is doing a good job of maintaining enough of a time gap between the baf and the release of a deluxe figure, that the complainers should just shut up, and when it comes to movie figures, there is a very real shelf life to those lines, so they have to strike when the movie is hot, so I'm fine with a baf Thanos being available as a Walmart exclusive pretty much immediately after it's release, but with Kingpin or Apocalypse, we are talking a year or two wait, which is fine... these molds don't have many options, so it makes perfect sense to re-release bafs that they think could generate money.
Also a lot of the people who complain I’m sure don’t stop and think about poor kids and collectors out there. Building BAF are expensive and realistically tough to find when you are growing up with little to no money. You are lucky if you get a toy close to a BAF. In my opinion it gives them chances to collect some fugues like that.

I'd really like to see a comparison between Dark Beast & Gray Beast. It didn't occur to me in 1995 that Hank McCoy's design was partially based on his Amazing Adventures appearances. I think that was a clever choice although I disliked the way writers couldn't decide on this character's official identity. Can an X-Men expert point out the first comics where he was called "Dark Beast" and "Black Beast"?
I'm in the same boat as you, every version of this body mold they come out with, is a definite purchase, just simply because of the quality of the actual figure. I like Beast well enough of course, good character etc... but if you asked me, how many versions of Beast I would need for my "shelf".... I would have said, 1... give me Avengers/X-Factor Beast and I got enough, yet now I already have three (well one and two on pre-order) and would love to see if they can come up with a way to come out with more. Just like the Hulk sculpt, (and Pizza Spidey) if you do it right, you can come out with a lot of versions of the same character and not have complaints. (yes I know that after a few years, people complained about the Pizza spidey, so we are getting a new even better one, but when it came out, people loved it.)
The face sculpt alone on this figures makes it a worthy purchase.
Dark Beast is badass and is the only figure in this wave I bought besides the BaF off Dorkside.
I was going to criticize you, for a second, for spending $90 on just two figures, when the entire release could be had for $60 more(giving you 8 figures) but then I look at the other 6 figures you would have gotten and I'm not really seeing them being worth even $10 each. Jean is cute, but ehh... Wolverine is just dumb looking, same with Sunfire... X-man is so lame, that he makes cyclops appear to be the fonz in comparison, wild child looks like an anorexia version of Sabretooth.... Morph is the only decent looking character, but at the same time it's Morph, the Screech or Urkel of the X-men universe.

I unload trucks at Walmart, found the box with this whole wave in it, only one I grabbed was dark beast, best one out of the wave by far
I was goi g to be annoyed at employees getting figures before the public but then I remember you work at Walmart you might as well have some perks for working such a crappy job.
The beast looks good but overall if I don't get any of these figures I won't have any regrets. Good review....

I think Dark Beast ended up with Onslaught in the 616 universe after he'd kidnapped and replaced Blue Beast.

It took forever to get my venom. I ordered the plasma series ghostbusters on amazon and target and target sent me ray, amazon pushed it back a whole month.

That gag about switching heads is annoying. Fun the first time but never again.
Hate this figure. 4 points of articulation don’t work on the legs, thighs and calves. Boiling, other heat, absolutely nothing works. That and the shit paint on my Mar-Vell has me questioning Hasbro. Plus they are using soft plastic and what seems to rubber for some guns (winter soldier) fuck!
Yeah man, there's def higher quality figures out there. But for the most part, they cost a lot more. Sorry about your Mar-Vell figure, the paint apps on mine were pretty sweet. My Spymaster is another story. Thanks for watching!
