I can't tell you how many times I've tried to catch legendaries and they end up killing themself through struggle because they kept breaking out of the ball every turn.

Ink Frurp to be fair the game boxes all said "basic reading ability is needed to fully enjoy this game" so that's on your family for letting you play before you could read the tutorials

If you have this problem here is a tip; throw a few million ultra balle false swipe it to 1hp if you can and then just spam time balls until you eventually get it, make sure to start with a quick ball

This. I'm currently on the Firered chapter and I'm really pissed off that adventures doesn't have an anime adaptation. Not only is it better than the anime but it's also much closer to the games and even Satoshi Tajiri said it was the closest to how he imagined the Pokemon universe.

Sturdy Shedinja is a common hackmon because it already has 1 HP. It is guaranteed to live any direct attack, no matter how many times you hit it.
Fortunately, you can kill it with indirect attacks. Using an attack that ignores ability works as well.

Another one: when your pokemon hits itself in confusion, and then it flinches from a move like bite
Worse: confused and paralyzed (maybe even attracted).

You think that's bad? Then meet the power scaling in the anime where unevolved Pokemon where on par with fully evolved ones and Pikachu's level is literally what the plot demands him to be.

@@nothinghappened7599 That's kind of required since, if they didn't, they would have to replace Pikachu, and likely Ash as well, EVERY SEASON, with another Pokemon that they can only hope would be as beloved and iconic, otherwise people would complain because Ash would win every battle with ease just by using an OP Pikachu starting in Johto, or people would complain that Ash never used Pikachu after Kanto to avoid that issue, bringing complaints about the lack of Pikachu love.
You want to equate that to the Pokemon games? Using the remakes instead of the originals (to make transfering easier), play through from Kanto through to Galar keeping your original Kanto starter on your team the entire time. When you're done, think back to how easy it was after Kanto because you had something likely at least level 50 at the start of Johto and every later region, or how it ended up being a waste of space because you never used it because it was so powerful and made things too easy.
You can argue after a few seasons they could replace Ash and Pikachu, but doing so every season would just turn away a lot of fans.
@@Kahadi Still doesn't make sense just because of the anime's stupid status quo. Being iconic doesn't always mean it's a good thing. Besides many people were already asking for a new protag for long and got tired of Ash a long time ago. Whoever those "fans" are probably enjoy watching a paint dry. They should be open for changes and eventually they'll get over it.
Your starter will most likely evolve near the Radio tower incident/7th gym without excess grinding, then you grind another 10 levels for the 8th gym and then ANOTHER minimum 10 levels to even stand a chance against Lance, then you reach Kanto and must grind 20+ levels to match Red’s Lv 80 Pokémon while fighting wild Lv 55-60 Pokémon on Mount Silver. HG/SS is definitely one of the best Pokémon games but my god it gives even the veterans problems.
If anyone reads this, the best way to get three crits with Galarain Farfetch'd in a single battle is to find the Vileplume in the Wild Area, and keep using Leaf Blade on it. Even a crit with Leaf Blade barely does anything to Vileplume, allowing you to keep trying. Letting Farfetch'd hold the Scope Lens helps alot too.
You can also hold the L E E K
I just found a random metapod and just kept spamming increased critical hit chance moves on it
It also has Focus Energy as an egg move in gen VIII, which guarantees crits when combined with the scope lens.
Or give another mon Focus Energy and Baton Pass. Hold a leek or lens to get 100% crit chance with that.
51: getting a gen 4 Munchlax
I think that qualifies for the "impossible to get Pokémon", like the Feebas that Alex said, it's pretty much the same, but even more time-consuming.
@@ibriselric2 yeah, but I still wanted to mention it since imo it's way worse than Feebas, it's a 1% chance of getting something you already had to wait 6 hours for, and I'm not even going to mention the whole "munchlax trees" process
I agree. I ended up just transferring in a Gen 3 Snorlax and breeding it while it was holding the Full Incense

If they added a little arrow next to your icon on the map that moved according to how you turn, that would be great. I was having hell trying to navigate Giant's Bed in the Crown Tundra for the first time; The place is huge.
@@p0p_n0x Yeah, getting through any of the big areas for the first time was a pain. Could have needed something like it at certain times in past games as well - I needed a map just to navigate through Lumiose City during my first playthrough of X and Y.
The top 5 most annoying things in Pokemon
- Spamming roost, soft-boiled, or any other heal moves
- Substitute + Protect spam
- Toxic stalling
- Hurricane or any other 30% flinch move spam
- Dealing with salty 12 years olds who lost after using the above cheap strats they've learned from the TH-camrs

I never realized how annoying clefable was until I fought against one with cosmic power and soft boiled.
I always liked Feraligatr's name. I picked up on why they did it when I was a kid, and it always struck me as kinda funny that they liked the name enough to officially "misspell" it. They could have increased the possible Pokemon name length by one, or they could have given it a different name. But nope, they said "this name is great no matter what, don't even bother with the details."
The fact Sw&Sh purposefully gives you terrible AI teamates in Raid Battles just to make you try their garbage online services, which honestly should be free.
They don't seem any worse than the AI you fight against

Honestly I wish they'd give every regional champion an ace from their region, like Cynthia's Garchomp or Iris' Haxorus. It would give more shine to the pokemon introduced in that gen, which is the point of introducing new pokemon in the first place

Here’s one for you- important moves locked to specific versions. Specifically Pokémon Crystal, since I’m trying to make teams for the stadium cups, and only own Gold and Silver.
*Cloyster can only learn Spikes, it’s most important move, in Crystal.*
*Marrowack can only get Swords Dance through a breeding chain in Crystal.*
*Eevee can only learn Baton Pass if it’s in Crystal.*

That Mareep line fact was annoying as a kid. Took me a while to figure that out since I played Gold and Silver before that but I kept playing with the rest of my normal team.
Without it I had a hard time at every gym and after getting destroyed repeatedly by Lance I finally realized how bad Meganium was and dropped it for Feraligatr. There's a reason Ethan has Ampharos...

Charizard sorta does have a shiny alt... But it's based on its Gen 2 coloration, which was purple instead of black.

Number 51: trying to catch/weaken Primal Groudon in Omega Ruby.
I probably didn't use the perfect strategy as I wanted to find my own one rather than looking it up (boring), so my strat was to get it down to where it'll use Rest, then weaken it with two attacks and then I'd have one attempt at throwing a Pokéball, before it wakes up and the cycle repeats.
Problem was that I wanted to catch it in a Premier Ball and in order to get more chances at throwing a ball, I didn't want to wait for it to use Rest after it woke up, I wanted to attack in the same turn it wakes up and uses rest (since Pokémon is slower), but Groudon didn't always use Rest after waking up, despite being firmly in the red, so I ended killing it a lot... When it didn't kill my team, that is.
Eventually I switched to attacking only once and trying to catch it at yellow and when I finally managed to catch it in my Premier Ball, I missed the moment, cause I was playing AoE with friends on my PC as just occasionally pushing buttons on my 3DS on the side. I was quite underwhelmed by the fact I didn't pay attention when it finally happened.
But whatever, I've got Groudon in a Premier Ball! 😁
I really think not being able to turn off the xp-share is the most annoying thing in gen 8. I do see why they implemented it. They wanted to remove all the grind but I think player should have a choice in that regard since I really liked putting effort in training a team slowly because this way you would learn a lot about your team and items in general.
An easy 50th would be the allowance of BS trades on GTS

When I first played Pokémon Y I raised a Mienfoo and named her Petra. You want to know when she evolved to my favorite Fighting type? Last battle against Lysandre and he has an underleveled Mienshao.
Opponent is paralyzed, confused and has low accuracy, yet still manages to hit you.

Catching anything in the safari zone, in the games that have them. There's nothing more frustrating or annoying than finally running into that safari zone exclusive pokemon you've been looking for for hours, than seeing them run away first chance they get.
Exploring the safari zone starts out fun, as you pick up the various items and explore the place, but once you've done that and the place is reduced to: I only need 2 more pokemon from here and then I'm done, it gets annoying really fast and you'll have nightmares every time you hear that dreaded 'DING DONG' sound that teleports you back to the front desk.

I really like how they find creative ways to evolve Pokémon. But some really do be unnecessarily a giant pain to do.
You think that's bad? Try trade evolutions that require the Pokémon to be under one or more specific circumstances to work; they make Pokémon even more painfully pay-to-win than it already is.
I recently started playing Platinum again and I hate having to visit the Safari Zone. What were they thinking while making that? Also why do you have to blow just to remove the fire?

Alternative 50th: You can't save multiple games at once. I think many players lost a lot of games to the fault of their younger siblings
I lost my original Emerald save file to a grown-ass adult who didn't bother reading the text warning her that saving a new game would delete my file. Also, she took my SP and started playing the game without my permission, while I was mowing the lawn, 'cause she thought the game belonged to a friend living with my family and I, at the time.

No, no, it's when you went too far with your team at one level, so you need to use that onix you traded whose level is too low, so you spend half an hour between miltank and onix, and then it uses milk drink!
