@@phillipdale5415 Everytime I see things on TH-cam and Reddit saying "GameFreak should try this" and "GameFreak should create this feature" but they don't understand. Gamefreak literally pushes these games out with absolute minimum effort and they don't care about anything other than sales. People will keep buying their incomplete games and keep getting ripped off by their DLCs. Nothing's gonna change.
And don't go bootlicking this greedy ass company cause people can make Rom hacks that are 10 times better than anything Gamefreak has put out since Black and White 2.
@@YerboiKeeevin People somehow accepted the dex cut like it was the norm or something. Sword and Shield looks like a ps3 game. They're still using the same models from pokemon X and Y from over 5 years ago. Yet for some insane reason these people defend the decision to cut half the dex out. Literally any indie studio could make a pokemon game better than this.

small mistake, rotom heat was still electric/ghost in gen 4. they didn't get new typings until gen 5.
That just means less fire types meaning more sadness for Empoleon and Torterra users.
The only way to get an applianced Rotom in Gen 4 was bringing it to the Silph Co. but you can not even transfer it to other games without having it become a regular Rotom

Missed Opportunity: Changing Ice type so it's super effective against water types, y'know, like irl. Would have made ice types more usable too since almost no one seems to pick ice types anymore ever since fairy types came out

Ugeon would evolve when leveled up while holding a special flower that normally has the affect: “When a bug Pokémon holds this flower, increase attack damage by super affective bug moves.”

When he takes off his hoodie, it reveals that he has extremely long hair (down to his tail) and Suzy Sheep-style ears.

@@ItzCandle I understand the fire fighting typing is overused, but Emboar is a great pokemon, bulky and strong, and with flame charge pretty fast. It was my first starter, and though not my favorite, it still doesn't deserve to get all the slander for having a repetitive typing.

The gen 6 starters should’ve had a mega each. They all deserved it, since the gen 3 got megas for no reason and they were released in the debut generation of mega evolution.
Its not no reason, as they are starters for ORAS. I bet the Kalos starters were supposed to get Megas in the Z version that was scrapped to give way for SM as it was the 20th anniversary. Its the same as Galar starters only getting their Gigantamax form in the dlc.
@@divakaranchandrahasan7249 I see what you mean by the Hoenn starters getting Megas, but I’d imagine that Delphox, Chesnaught and Greninja would’ve taken priority for getting Megas. They could’ve even got new Megas in Sun/Moon, just to give them what they deserve. Every starter since then has received access to the new gimmick of the generation, for example gen 7 getting Z Moves and gen 8 getting Gigantamax
Bare minimum they should give Delphox and Chesnaught a new ability to let it change forms, since Greninja got Ash Greninja. Currently there is nothing drawing people to not use Greninja, as it’s got the best hidden ability, a secret third ability and is one of the most liked Pokemon in worldwide, even Gamefreak and Nintendo planned on its massive appeal by putting it in a Super Smash, most likely developing every detail before the reveal of it in the main games. I just hope that GF realised that they really missed out with the Kalos starters, as they deserved a mega evolution above all. Above the Hoenn starters, which likely only got them because of their region being remade, above Mewtwo’s duel mega evolution (which likely got 2 for marketing and out of favouritism) and above the Kanto starters (which were probably given a mega each *and* a second unnecessary one to Charizard out of favouritism and for even more marketing). Please know that I’m not saying this because I hate the mega evolutions out of hate for them, since Venasaur is one of my favourite starter and it’s Mega is my favourite Mega Evolution, with Swampert being a close second. In fact I’m saying this because I genuinely think they are undeserved, with the Kanto starters needing them less since they had their chance in their own game back in 1996.
It was a balancing issue. Megas were suppose to make weaker older pokemon realivant again. We saw this with HA's in earlier generations and megas were the next attempt at balancing pokemon.
@@RFDN0 that raises another question. If it was for balancing, then why Mewtwo and Rayquaza, they were already massive in competitive and used a lot, Megas essentially broke them. I can see why some were given Megas, such as Sableye and Mawile, but giving them to already over-powered and extremely common legendaries just doesn’t make sense from any point of view or any argument, apart from just advertising.
As I mentioned before, Mewtwo and Rayquaza are the main culprits, but there are several others that didn’t really deserve a mega. Garchomp was already good enough as an attacker, to the point where using the mega variant could arguably be a downgrade on your team. Latias and Latios, though not the strongest, already were good tanks, so didn’t really need too much changing. Metagross and Tyranitar were both pretty good before their Megas as pseudo legendaries like Garchomp, but I could make a case for Metagross having a mega, since it’s the ace for Steven (and all both champions in gen 6, and the elite four in OrAs had a mega for their ace). Out of all the Mega evolutions, 15 were from Kanto, 6 from Johto, a massive 20 from Hoenn, 5 from Sinnoh, and finally 1 from 1 from Unova (plus 1 from Kalos which isn’t even available any more). If you ask me, they should’ve taken many away from Hoenn since that was a remake, with several Pokemon not even being available wild in Kalos, and give more to Sinnoh, Unova and Kalos. Don’t forget taking some away from Kanto either, since it had 15 (only 5 less than Hoenn). The gen 1 starters, Mewtwo, Alakazam and Gengar were all pretty balanced and popular without a mega (apart from Mewtwo, that was already one of the strongest and didn’t need a buff) so are somewhat undeserving of more attention. Salamance and Metagross (along with the other pseudo legendaries from all generations) have a base stat total of 600, so that doesn’t need buffing in the slightest. Latias and Latios were pretty good already, so didn’t need buffing (didn’t need the attention either, with a movie dedicated to one of them), and Rayquaza was in a similar spot as Mewtwo, being already strong and popular amongst fans.
Tons of weaker
Pokemon could’ve made use of a mega, such as Honchkrow, Vespiquen and Froslass (froslass most deserving since its counterpart- Galalie- got one). Unova only got Audino’s mega, so more weaker ones could’ve gained Megas such as Scrafty, Gothitelle, Golurk, Haxorus and countless others. By far the most deserving is Kalos, who received worse treatment than Unova in the mega department because the one and only Pokemon to be given a mega isn’t even available now, given as an event to players with Diance.
Xerneas and Yveltal deserve a mega each- being the box legends (sort of Zygarde, but that wasn’t a box legendary and gets an extra 2 forms instead), Slurpuff, the Starters at least, maybe even the fossils since Aerodactyl had one.
All in all, despite being intended to make weak Pokemon strong they didn’t succeed in many cases, as it just made stronger ones more prominent (or often untouched in the case Garchomp). Though some did profit, such as Kangaskhan being used on almost every team in VGC, there were still several used less due to other Pokemon filling the role better whilst allowing a different Pokemon to go beyond evolution. Mewtwo, Rayquaza and Kangaskhan were the main winners due to their stats (and ability, in Kang’s case) surpassing all others and just rendering all attempts to take them.

@@PansyPops That is why I use "Suppose". You are correct that pokemon that should not have gotten megas got them. It's a major issue people point to when speaking of megas in general. Balancing pokemon at this point is becoming ludicrous we currently have 800 pokemon and getting each an individual role or combination isn't going to happen anymore.

Maybe an ability that lets it do more damage if it moves before the opponent.
Edit: or just an ability that sets up grassy terrain upon entry - its not much, but its relevant to celebi as a forest guardian.

Pretty sure the eevee line is based on the physical/special type split that use to exist, so the only evolution we're missing is dragon-type.
Everyday I am horrified that AZ's Floette signature move, that was never released, is still in Sword and Shield and yet, Return and Frustration, moves that have been here since gen II, got the knife and were cut
Killing hidden power was especially cynical. I've heard they didn't like that some hackers were getting it to be the right type via hacks, so they decided to punish everyone who uses the move, including the people who actually did all the work to breed for the right type.
Getting rid of pursuit kind of irks me too - so, you're saying pursuit's too hard on psychic and ghost types, which have been the dominant types from day 1, yet bug's been struggling for ages, and you give it an extra type to resist it in gen 6?
Is it actually in Sword and Shield? Floette isn't, nor is Smeargle (if you somehow managed to Sketch it), so why would it be in?

I think Roy's saying it's somehow still in the code despite not actually being usable. At least that's my guess.
It's cause they were suppose to be DS games, which would explain why they used the DS Models, they tried to hide that with the lies they told I'm guessing. So it makes some sense that the move might be in the code, since only the one pokemon could learn it they might not have felt the need to remove it since it couldn't be accessed without hacking.
@@Kakachi07 3DS*, and uh, they were never meant to be 3DS games? The 3DS Pokémon models are actually fairly high-detail for a 3DS game, and were made with future consoles in mind. If they used the same *human* models as say, Sun and Moon, that'd be a valid complaint. The problem isn't the models being re-used, it's the animations.

The skateboard was actually reincarnated as the skates in XY where you can grind into hidden places. The idea is also similar to the across bike in Hoenn, and you can use the mach bike (gen 3) and the bike in gear 2 (gen 4) to go up slippery slopes.
Honestly, I prefer Mega Evolution over Gigantimax...

So do I, and I would even like them if they were given to underwhelming/underrated/overlooked Pokemon, and not to fucking Charizard and starters in general, Lucario, way too many pseudos, and even legends. Why? Giving a mega to pokemon like Altaria, Mawile and Sableye makes sense because in all honesty they were pretty trash but to fucking Metagross, Salamence and Garchomp? Oh please!

There's that one time where i actually had an expectation for the new Eeveelutions to be introduced in gen 8, past generations has the stream rolling along with many unique way to evolve them and it was a misopportunity to have not keep the record going in this generation.

5:52 I agree with all the shinys except mr. rime. His shiny is great because it’s supposed to represent monochrome/washed out colors like old movies had. While it’s not the most extravagant shiny, it’s probably the most fitting.
I think "Meltitan" is the best missed opportunity name for Melmetal.

The missing eevee types wouldve been really cool to have as Mega evolutions at least. Jolteon could've gained steel, glaceon ghost, vaporeon poison, leafeon ground, flareon rock, sylveon flying, espeon bug, and umbreon fighting, leaving only dragon type left over, maybe for an eevee Mega evolution which wouldve been available for your partner in Let's Go Eevee. I guess the specific type combos don't really matter, but it was cool that there are 8 eevee types and 8 missing ones

I totally agree with Let's Go's controls. In theory, it's the perfect laid back game to play on days where I can't move, but I can't catch or train up my Pokemon at all because I can't swing my arm.
I have another one: making a galarian dustox that's shaped after klara's bow (and even making it her ace). If they chose this they could also make a psychic type galarian beautifly

I think the Mr. Rime shiny looks pretty good. It's more monotone like colors make it fit it's theme of being based on Charlie Chaplin and silent film actors. I know it's not that different, but for lore/theming wise, it fits perfectly.

@@totallycrazystudios1801 A big reason would be nostalgia haha, but also bc Kris is better designed than Lyra imo. Also bc the original protagonist got redesigned as Ethan, and since HGSS incorporated elements from Crystal (Suicune, Eusine etc.) it would only make sense to include a redesigned version of Kris who was the female protagonist from Crystal. That’s why it was a little disappointing imo to see Lyra as the female character instead.
But I understand that many fans like Lyra also, which is great.

People are speculating that Koharu from the anime's Eevee might evolve into a completely new Eeveelution. I think that it's just a G-Max Eevee but who knows?

one year later and here we are all wishing those D&P remakes didn't happen.
Another missed opportunity in the anime; Ash not catching Latias. It was confirmed that in the 5th Pokemon movie, Ash was originally going to catch Latias and would form a mini rivalry with his Bayleaf if you know what I mean. 😉 But they scrapped this idea because they thought it would be "too confusing" to people who didn't watch the movie, even though they skipped the episode where Ash caught his 30 Tauros.

My biggest missed opportunity is a Ground/Fighting type, we’ve had so many new combinations in the last few years and yet Gamefreak has denied my my Ground/Fighting type which should’ve been done long before, I mean we’ve gotten a genuine Electric/Poison type before such a simple combo.
I am a professional Ground type user with a minor in Fighting types and my biggest desire is to see a brash and exceedingly powerful Ground/Fighting type Pokémon to be “discovered” it could be a bulky wrestling warthog or Minotaur but I have to wait another generation to see if this will happen, and I’ve been waiting since gen 5

Hey Aura guardian, I dont think the dynamax feature is going to be in the diamond and pearl remakes because that's supposed to be galars 'special thing'. Like how mega evolution was in XYZ, the gigantimax thing could happen if they made it so you can transfer it to galars region. Seriously though I hope they get mega evolutions
