@@devilefty3814 It's what I do. 🙂 In all seriousness though, the light bash light combo will not work on more experienced players and is punishable, but if the opponent can't stop that particular tactic then there's really no need to mix it up, and BP has good options.
MightyMattman90 Punish him? Some heroes can't even punish him even if they dodge at the correct time. It's not a good hero, it's basically op. The reason is just because it's new and Ubisoft wants the new heroes to be op.
@@devilefty3814 Well you're not wrong some heroes have no way of punishing the bash, the solution there is to buff other heroes to give them dodge attacks/bashes. Every hero can block and parry though so a BP relying on lights can only get so far. There are a lot of changes that need to come to the game. I'm not sure nerfing BP is one of them though.
For Parrying light attacks, you would need to parry once you see the indicator. Heavy attacks require you wait a little before parrying. All attacks and actions are measured in millisecond (ms) increments. Most light attacks are 500ms or half a second. If you go into training, you can set a bot to use only light attacks against you to practise parrying. Once you're comfortable, you should have them use both lights and heavies and see how often you get caught out. Hope this helps. 🙂
I just bought year 3 pass just to flip every one with bullwark counter. I dont know how you do half of those move or what counter is and how to perform guard break and so on. I am new player but this hero or champion or what they are called is my favourite. I freakin love everything about him. I was able to flip two of the opponent at once and beat them just by flipping them I love this game. Edit okay I know guard break thats the X button on the xbox. I dont use it at all but good to know :D
I'm pleased you're enjoying the game! You'll want to start using that GB button though, it's core to your bashes as a BP player and you'll need it to impose mix ups and counter opposing GB attempts.
Tbh I feel like black prior is the most "Knight" like playstyle out of all of them. He should have been one of the launch characters. A simple sword and shield
He certainly fits in with them better than Centurion or Gladiator. For Honor was a completely different game at launch compared to what it is no, bulwark stance might have been too much back then.
@@LotteLattes Oh I agree, but the Sword and Board belongs to Warlord of the Vikings. I honestly would have liked Conqueror to have a morning star or mace over a flail. We got our sword and shield guy in the end though, if only he'd cheer up a bit. 😂

@@Mattman_90 thanks for the reply bro. I've been playing warden and I think BP would be a fun alternative to him so I'm not solely using warden. Thank you!
Wish I could tell you, there's probably a channel on TH-cam somewhere that compares these heroes to real life historical counter parts. All I could really say is that BP does not wield a longsword, Probably more of an arming sword or bastard sword.
@@Mattman_90 One BP managed to throw me on a bow attack in breach when I was playing orochi. I launched an arrow and they managed to time it perfectly and I flew what seemed to be 10 meters.
@@Mattman_90 Anything that isn't a guardbreak can be thrown, a friend of mine claims to have been thrown of an arrowstorm he used as aramusha. But I've never seen it myself
Flipping opponents is called a 'Bulwark Counter'. To do this you must be in bulwark stance (All Guard) and press light attack just as an opponent makes contact with you with an attack/bash.
It's practice. Ultimately you can learn timings from the video and I very much hope that you did, however practice is the best method of improvement. It also helps to pay attention to other Black Priors and see what they do when fighting you.
@@joeyfranks7236 For Honor is moving into more of a read/reaction hybrid of a game. BP's bash is hard to evade, I know trust me, but sometimes you have to make a read and either go for the dodge or stand your ground expecting something else. Light bash light only gets BP so far.
As the game is now. Black Prior is vastly stronger than Warlord. However I would wait if you're unsure, the testing grounds will be available this month where you will be able to test the improvements coming for Warlord. Ultimately though you should go with what hero you like. Fun should be first! My advice is save your steel until after the testing grounds.
It's what it is there for. By all means it's a good feat. Morale Booster requires coordination to reap the full benefits so for most games Umbral Shelter probably wins out.
I'd say US is much more situational than MB. US is more defensive in nature, often being the deciding factor in an otherwise close match. Saving it for the final push or a clutch is where it really shines.
I would argue if you only did shield bashing you would handicap yourself more. The shield bash is a strong move but like everything else it can be countered. Black Prior is built to switch between offense and defense as the situation demands and has the tools to do so. That said you shouldn't ignore any part of the kit and you should use what you believe is appropriate for that situation. If your opponent cannot stop the shield bash, then bash them. It's on them to adapt to you, not you who needs to change tactics. A smart opponent would see someone abusing the bash and punish them for it. You could make this argument for so many heroes, No shoulder bash Warden, or no heavies on Hitokiri etc.
MightyMattman90 No offence just a friendly question how can i adapt to a bash hero like prior if you cant back dodge the attack( back roles also got nerves) and also its a 50 50 move(get bashes or gbt) so how can i adapt if its a mindgame wich includes a decision wich is luck based like a coinflip. You cant adapt to an 50 50 or am i wrong?
@@irgendsoeintyp355That's exactly the point though. Adapting is all about reading your opponent and trying to figure out their playstyle. It being a 50/50 is good. If you could react to everything then that hero would be terrible. Look at Centurion, it's why he needs the rework because all of his offensive pressure is reactable. 50/50's are necessary, they're mix ups. Being able to force a read or reaction is how you open up opponents and get damage. Especially when blocking is so powerful. To summarise though it isn't luck, luck is something out of control, it's a decision you make in the moment that can decide whether you win or lose, but it most certainly is a mind game, it's all about conditioning. As for back dodging, you should be side dodging anyway, most moves are designed to catch back dodges, they're a spacing tool. Side dodges have shorter recovery too making them preferable.

In all seriousness though, the light bash light combo will not work on more experienced players and is punishable, but if the opponent can't stop that particular tactic then there's really no need to mix it up, and BP has good options.
0:45 that fucking bulwark counter was fucking awesome
Couldn't not showcase it!
Hi im kinda new, when it comes to light attack to counter attack, do i need to hit it once i see the red indicator? or do i need to wait a while
For Parrying light attacks, you would need to parry once you see the indicator. 🙂
Nice video
Thank you. 🙂
@@Mattman_90 bro this guide is excellent 👌
@@betorc0751 Thank you, I'm really pleased you like it, hope it was helpful to you. 🙂
Woaaah 10k subs last time I saw you you had only 1k
I know!! It's been quite a journey. I can hardly believe it.
@@Mattman_90 very true with bulwark.. but still a sword and shield hero seems like a no brainier for knights
@@LotteLattes Oh I agree, but the Sword and Board belongs to Warlord of the Vikings. I honestly would have liked Conqueror to have a morning star or mace over a flail. We got our sword and shield guy in the end though, if only he'd cheer up a bit. 😂
How do you get that green bar for the parry timing thing?
In the training arena, pause the game and select arena settings, under the arena tab there's a box you can tick called 'Opponent Timing Feedback'.
@@Mattman_90 thank you yet again!
@@dilly2047 It's what I do! 🙂
idk if ihas been added nowadays but did ya know you can bulwark counter some deflect attack :shaman, gladiator, peacekeeper.
only berserker, valkyrie and shinobi counters that counter
have a nice day
,A Salty Player,
I did know, I should have shown more examples. It's been a feature available from BP's release. Though I think conqueror can also bash Prior if the conq superior blocked an attack like Valkyrie would have to.
Could you do Nuxia next?
I have another guide already in the works but I shall focus on the lovely Nuxia after. 🙂

Just got back into the game after years and almost have enough to be able to buy BP. Should I unlock him considering I play modes of 4 people a lot?
If you enjoy the character yes. Take them into training and experiment with the moveset. I would say BP is very good in 4v4, probably one of the strongest heroes in the game.
@@Mattman_90 thanks for the reply bro. I've been playing warden and I think BP would be a fun alternative to him so I'm not solely using warden. Thank you!
@@snowshow53 By all means. Happy to help. 👍
Would you do a guide for hito
I certainly will. I'll add it to my list haha! There's a queue at the moment!
Does he really need a guide? Just spam hyper armor and lights with kicks. That's it. He's broken so you'll usually win everytime
I just got lightspammed into oblivion by one of these
But can you flip nuxia's traps tho?
Actually no, bulwark counter and traps kind of just do nothing. Neither one works.
Whats warrior is the black prior based on in real life?
Wish I could tell you, there's probably a channel on TH-cam somewhere that compares these heroes to real life historical counter parts. All I could really say is that BP does not wield a longsword, Probably more of an arming sword or bastard sword.
Black prior guide all you needed to say was light bash light as that’s all anyone seems to do....
It's why the guide is here! Hopefully we can add a little more sophistication to that particular playstyle.
very helpful thanks

Bulwark counter works for ranged feats...
It does? I though it only triggered on ZhanHu's flame trap?
@@Mattman_90 One BP managed to throw me on a bow attack in breach when I was playing orochi. I launched an arrow and they managed to time it perfectly and I flew what seemed to be 10 meters.

Somehow yes. It's hard to fathom to be honest. I'm very grateful. 🙂
Can anyone explain to me how to flip opponents with my shield? Need help asap please
Flipping opponents is called a 'Bulwark Counter'.
To do this you must be in bulwark stance (All Guard) and press light attack just as an opponent makes contact with you with an attack/bash.
I suscribed
Thank you! 🙂
Even with this guide I still perform terrible while using black prior, guess is a matter of getting better
It's practice. Ultimately you can learn timings from the video and I very much hope that you did, however practice is the best method of improvement. It also helps to pay attention to other Black Priors and see what they do when fighting you.

Hey punch through is useful now
I know, it wasn't that good when I made this video but I do know Punch Through is quite strong now. Hope it stays that way.
Vor gi ter?
Vortiger is the male Black Prior.
Ezrabet is the female Black Prior.
This could be summed up in one sentence... Light>SB>Light>Repeat until they ragequit
That would be quite the predictable player, the opponent should have no problem adapting.
MightyMattman90 that’s why I get so mad is because it seems like I should be able to and know exactly what he does but I can’t react or something
@@joeyfranks7236 For Honor is moving into more of a read/reaction hybrid of a game. BP's bash is hard to evade, I know trust me, but sometimes you have to make a read and either go for the dodge or stand your ground expecting something else. Light bash light only gets BP so far.
Black prior or Warlord ?
Because they look similar but I don’t know if I should buy BP or just start playing warlord
Make a berserker guide please

@@Mattman_90 let's go
Can you stack morale boost with inspire?
As far as I'm aware, no but I will test this.
Ty
Saved the my team with his last perk shields
It's what it is there for. By all means it's a good feat. Morale Booster requires coordination to reap the full benefits so for most games Umbral Shelter probably wins out.
I'd say US is much more situational than MB. US is more defensive in nature, often being the deciding factor in an otherwise close match. Saving it for the final push or a clutch is where it really shines.
@@AustroHungarianStrats wouldnt both be considered situational? I mean for the morale boost you would want to do it during a push
why don't i have a shield in the the clip bro Rep i'm high Where find bro
Sorry I'm not quite sure I understand the question. If you're referring to the shield on my BP, it was obtained during the 'Vortigers Riposte' event.
So now i can't use that shield, right I asked because the shield was beautiful
@@MinenamePL Unfortunately it's unavailable at the moment. Hopefully the event items will come back one day.
I... Still don't know what to do
What are you having trouble with?
The sad thing is you literly handycap yourself if you dont do just shield bashing moves.
Thanks
Hope it helped!
