    Here's the video breaking down how the reactor works: • I turn Plastics into F...
    Feel free to ask any questions, I'll be reading every comment!
    I believe with the world wide crisis we are facing now, we require a world wide solution. And this is why I believe we need decentralized devices such as this Reactor. Think about it, even if there is just 1 reactor in every community, that will put a huge dent in plastic waste and pollution.
    Due to this, I do not wish to make a singular specialized Reactor, once I master and complete this one, I want to make all different types, of all different scales and sizes.

    Yeah, I don’t know how much of this I believe because I have a 73 and I know those fuel bowls only hold about 2 cups of fuel. It’s hard for me to believe that truck is driving around the parking lot with only the fuel that’s in the fuel ball would start up sure I bet it would would drive a few feet probably but then ripping around the parking lotwith 2 cups of fuel that does not work in a diesel because once that fuel bowl gets below half it’s gonna start sucking in air and getting air into the diesel injector is catastrophic. I believe they started the truck on that fuel, but the problem is once the engines running the Truxk fuel pump is gonna start delivering diesel from the tanks and filling the bowl back up so yes it start on that fuel but it’s running and driving on the diesel from the tanks. They showed them disconnecting the fuel pump and removing the fuel pump fuse they just drained the bowl which were automatically instantly Phil back up the moment you started the truck.

    Here’s a thing, they emptied the fuel bowl sure but the moment they switched the key to accessory the fuel pump engaged, filling the bowl back up with diesel, so yeah, it probably started on that fuel, but I’ve been instantaneously diluted and filled back up with real diesel they never showed them disconnecting the fuel pump or the fuel lines

    Let me help you with another idea of mine. When you have just carbon left, injection of water vapor, as carbon at 500°± will react forming CO and hydrogen, like a wood gasifier. Use that to run a generator.

    • @rutgerjohanson1846
      @rutgerjohanson1846 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Would you need some sort of catalyst to make that reaction?

    • @petevenuti7355
      @petevenuti7355 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@rutgerjohanson1846 carbon IS the catalyst and a reactant at that temperature, it reduces the hydrogen in water, the oxygen forms carbon monoxide with the carbon . Carbon monoxide is flammable and can run an engine. Hydrogen too.

    • @rutgerjohanson1846
      @rutgerjohanson1846 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@petevenuti7355 ah i see, i didn't get that the first time i read your comment. It is certainly an interesting idea. Is there a particular name for that process to your knowledge?

    • @petevenuti7355
      @petevenuti7355 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@rutgerjohanson1846 I don't know if it has a particular name but it's related to how a wood gasifier works. When the wood starts to burn it gets hot enough to pyrolysize and the pyrolysis gas is burned leaving only charcoal. The water vapor from the wood drying as well as being a product of combustion gets drawn over the hot charcoal, creating a mixture of carbon monoxide hydrogen and a little carbon dioxide as well. That's ultimately what gets burned in an engine when it's running on a wood gasifier.
      So I'm thinking if he injected some water vapor in at a later stage, some of the carbon could be converted to the same kind of gas so he gets more gas. It would just take a little more time, until either the level of carbon reached a point where he wouldn't be able to save enough to use as a catalyst for the next run, or you were getting less gas out than you could burn to make the electricity to make the microwaves. You have to stop just before that point.
      The extra time spent in the reactor will make the carbon left come out cleaner. Ash covered instead of oil covered.

    • @rutgerjohanson1846
      @rutgerjohanson1846 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@petevenuti7355 i always thought the carbon monoxide just came from the hot carbon without any further things. But what you are saying does make sense why both hydrogen and C-monoxide would come from pyrolysis. Thanks for the insight

As I commented on one of Julian's videos, there is a MASSIVE island of plastic out in the Pacific Ocean consisting of waste from Asian third world countries. Julian's method is a GREAT way to address this issue. Keep up the good work here. You just showcased that he "ain't just talkin' trash" 😀. We need more of this.

    • @pittbier7597
      @pittbier7597 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      you have to listen. It's more manageable than other greenhouse-gasses. The alternative is that plastics break down into more harmful greenhouse-gasses. You want to fully breakdown the hydrocarbons. CO2 is bad, but less bad than leaving it to degrade overtime. Its like the trolley problem, you want to run over 1 person or 5?

      They haven't started with regulations yet, too new.
      Are you aware of cogen units?
      Instead of burning oil or gas for heat, you run a generator on it and get the same heat from the exhaust! So you're getting 60% of the energy back out instead of 30%! With Julian's system connected to a cogen system you can do that with a gas generator and collect liquid fuel to save for later!
      But, a 1.4kw heater costs $24,000 with cogen, and for a 100kw oil burner and 5kw generator costs $5000 together. WHY stupid regulations.

      @@user-oh9uf6ok5o yes, most likely, straight pyrolysis oil won't be, no matter how good the catalyst. You can still treat it as high quality crude oil and feed it into the standard petroleum production process.
      Use it in diesel shipping, it's cleaner then the bunker oil they use now . Heating oil. Power generation Etc. Plastic pyrolysis with not solve more than a few percent of our overall fuel needs .. But you can pyrolysize more then just plastic waste and get up to 20% or more of our needs. That's huge! Furfuryl from waste veggies, hardwood trees and paper, turpenes from pine. Any organic can be pyrolysized .
      I got a jar of bone marrow oil within arms reach. It Stinks.
      There was a guy who was doing this on TH-cam about 15 years ago , he found it saved him 50% cost running his 18 weeler truck on plastic pyrolysis oil. The DOT saw his video and fined him $25,000 for running his truck on pubic highways with *untaxed* fuel and shut him down.

      This is a narrow minded viewpoint dude. You get this kind of idea out there so that the idea is perpetuated and gains traction. Considering this has been well documented no one can steal credit for his innovative development in the study of pyrolysis. He isnt the first to try and make pyrolysis efficient but he is as far as we are aware the first to make it *this* efficient.
      He WANTS this idea to get out there and gain public traction, not hold on to the idea so that if something happens to him the idea goes to his grave with him. That's why you saying he needs to keep it to himself is narrow minded.
