My biggest advice is be 100% honest about your skill level, what you're confident working on, and expect your pay to reflect the profitability that you bring to the shop. That being said, a great owner will raise your pay/bonuses as your skillset improves. That was the key 🔑 your dad had the business. Look lets be honest, in America most businesses that are successful are ones where it was passed on or money 💰 or some kind of assets were passed on to the next generation. Most people starting from the ground with nothing needing expensive loans are not successful. Plus your not successful now with debt. This really is the majority in America now. Years ago it was so much more feasible. But the prices and the difficulties now are so stacked against you, your business literally needs to be successful from the get go. Which doesn't happen with most. It is not a dream anymore. But you will never know unless you try. Just be prepared to lose it all.
You need to realize that every level has a ground zero point. I still consider my self “just starting” but what your saying is just limited mentally. You have no idea how much stress, late nights, failures and setbacks that EVERY business owner goes through. It’s the people the stick through it all that WIN. Losers make excuses about things being too hard. Everything is hard. Life is hard. Man up. Do something about it and make things HAPPEN.
And I DID start from zero. All I had was the basic equipment and a good father, going from couple clients a week to 20-30 PER DAY Is not something that is just “handed” over. Me and my dad BOTH went through hell to make it this far.
The man wasn’t handed a large, busy, service shop with tons of income already. That would be a different story. It was just his dad running a little operation until he started helping at 15. To start from zero in that line of work doesn’t cost a ton of money either. Of course it makes it easier than building from absolutely nothing but that doesn’t take from the fact it took a lot of hard work and determination to grow to where he is now. People act like getting any sort of help to get a business going somehow devalues their success.
There are 2 kinds of people in this world positive and negative and in order to be a successful business man or women you need to be smart, motivated and have vision. You also need to take chances and roll the dice and be smart about it. Never choose a business where the customers have no money, I was told by a successful business man one time you need to follow the money. I can honestly say I am not that person, I am negative and always look at the bad side of things, although I will work my ass off, I am a workaholic. My father and mother on the other hand were positive people and were successful, they loaned money against the house to get started something I would never do. I am lucky that they set me up in a successful business it has had its ups and downs but I love it.
Truck drivers 🚚 are very well paid, treated with lots of respect. I would certainly not want to work in a private or public nursing home as a nursing technician.I inspect or observe the resident estate with my smartphone I noticed that many patients admitted there have not washed or brush their teeth for 2 weeks due to budget restrictions from the federal government Justice system in Quebec makes my me very angry 😠 😡 annoyed. Many patients have Alzeimers disease and Type 2 diabetes. We dont ask questions very noticeably. I would rather work in a fruit and vegetable supermarket being on social welfare jobs. You are very lucky privileged to have a great paying job 👍.

Jesus those forks in the air on the forklift like that flying is gonna kill someone
Wow. I wish they had car mechanics with this set up.
Thank you for the honesty.
Interesting story. Just do not drive a set of doubles into the shop. If this every happens, pull it backwards from the rear trailer.
Just casually helped my already successful dad at his probably well going business. how is this success story?

Great job. If the US had Universal Affordable Healthcare we’d have many more entrepreneurs.
👍🏻👍🏻 hard work makes the dream work!
I did that Jon for a year and it’s back breaking.
