I'm going to give you my two cents, as a Mexican I can see the respect you show to our tortilla, the love and dedication you showed to the preparation, mesmerized me. I will give you a tip, if you add too much flour, it gets sticky, so we Mexicans have a bowl of water to wet our hands and make the masa ball and make the tortillas. To avoid using too much flour you can use saran plastic, we actually use a plastic bag, and the tortilla press, you can get one in Amazon. They're very useful. So kudos to your recipe, I will try it and will substitute the flour for chickpea flour. Instant follow to your channel. Blessings. Forgive me for the typos, have fat fingers.
Thank you for the advice my friend, I truly appreciate it! I’m gonna definitely use your techniques. I will get a tortilla press also soon. Blessings 🥰💖🤗🌺
@@thedivinechef Thanks for the recipe, I want to try this! I would steam the sw. potato whole with the skin on. There wouldn't be so much water from cutting & boiling them and peeling would super easy & quick. I would add a little salt to the dough.

Thank you for your recipe. I make sweet potato tortillas but bake my potatoes and make oat flour from extra thick rolled oats. I think they taste better with the oat flour than the ones I made with white flower and are heathier. I use one cup of sweet potato to one cup of oat flower. I also use a tortilla press instead of a rolling pin. They puff up quite a bit in the pan and are very soft. Add some cinnamon for a little extra flavor.
I have made these before . I learned how to make tortillas from a friend who was Mexicana. I have had success making these gluten free with the sweet potato. Your video was perfect. Thank you The Divine Chef!

Love this idea and I also love the fact that when you said a 2 ingredient recipe you meant exactly 2 ingredients. So many recipes I see on youtube say only 2, only 3 ingredients etc. and by the time they are done they've added 5, 6 or more ingredients to the recipe.
Yum! I will use roasted butternut squash , sweet potato , & just roasted white potato. 3 types! Yum with grated zucchini, cheese & tiny chopped onion, parata style. Thanks for the idea!
I’ve made a similar recipe using cassava flour, it worked great! For those of you who need to be gluten free, Cassava flour is almost a 1-1 substitute for wheat flour, although the texture of some things, like cakes, doesn’t come out the same. For cookies and flat breads like this, it’s a winner though!

I am so glad I discovered your channel. I am on a healthy vegetarian and vegan way of eating. I am having heart issues and want a better diet. It’s a joy watching you
We have been making a version of these for years now because we are gluten free. We do sweet potato with cassava flour/tapioca starch. When I am short on that ingredient we have made it work with corn flour or rice flour or a blend of any of these. Whatever we have on hand. My kids absolutely love them! This is called “stretchy bread” in our house because over the years we have started making them smaller in diameter and thicker to be able to fry multiple pieces at once in a large skillet. Ours look like hers before she starts rolling them. We either eat them as is beside other food or we use like a hamburger bun.
If it SAYS gluten free that's where they get you. Try chickpea flour or any other similar flour like corn flour. Where I live chickpea flour is cheap because many don't know it's value.
you can eat with many things!!! i know because i am mexican, i think you can eat this with avocado, or beans, every thing is good with beans. Also, you can eat with cheese in a quesadilla. Wow i really go to make your recipie!!!
Divine recipe! I made these today with my mum. We used spelt flour and white sweet potatoes. Some were folded, filled with avocado and plant-based cheese. And we left some open, roasted peppers, and made pizzas. My mum said 1000 thank yous. Thank you for the recipe!
Nice, simple recipe, and I appreciate your awareness about some people preferring (needing) a GF version. I love sweet potatoes that are orange inside. We have other varieties as well where I live. I have stopped eating white potatoes, as they are a nightshade vegetable and can contribute to gut microbiome issues, I'm trying to avoid. I now make baked sweet potato fries instead of fried white potato fries, and they are great.
@@thedivinechef Nightshade vegetables can be inflammatory. Nightshades include potatoes, tomatoes, and eggplants, and contain solanine. Solanine may increase the leakiness of the intestines (aka "leaky gut") and affect the gastrointestinal microbiota, indirectly increasing the inflammation relating to arthritis. One can mitigate the problems of white potatoes by soaking them overnight, peeling them, and boiling them -- but sweet potatoes don't have the same health issues, and I like sweet potatoes more than white potatoes anyway. I can't wait to make the sweet potato tortillas -- with GF flour. Thank you!
I Love the simplicity of these sweet potato tortillas, 2 ingredients, and true to your word, 2 ingredients! Thank You, you have just gained a new subscriber! Shared!💝💝💝

Put a damp paper towel, or two, under you board and it will not move. I was told this a while ago and have been using it ever since. The tortillas look great.

Just ran across you and this video. Never heard of sweet potato tortillas before. I do love sweet potatoes tho- my hubby not so much. i did learn how to make flour tortillas a couple weeks ago and they are so good! I am definatly gonna have to try this. Thank you.
That’s awesome! Hope you like this recipe as well!! 🥰🤩😃
If you use a circle cookie cutter, you can make petite desserts by cutting out little circles of dough after cooking, let cool. Then add a spritz of vegan almond whipped topping and sprinkle with finely ground nuts.
Or smear honey on the circle, cinnamon, crushed nuts, and roll.
Beautiful recipe.
Oh thank you for lovely idea. I’m gonna give it a try for sure. Sounds awesome. 🤩🥰💖🤗

@@hexxan007 I’m so happy you enjoyed the video! Thank you for such kind words. I agree, the community here is amazing and I’m so grateful for all of you! 🥰
Also-I have an idea for your rolling pin bottle-you could fill it with ice, to keep your dough chilled, if you were making something that required that.
That’s a great idea! Thank you so much! 😊🤗🥰💕
you could also dust it with a little of your flour as you would a regular rolling pin, but you did great anyway!
They look delicious! Little tipp: if your cutting board is slipping, wet a 2 pieces of paper towel and put it flat underneath the board.
Great tip! Thank you so much! 😊🥰

We love our steamer so I'll steam them (retains more nutrients supposedly) and the skins will slip right off. 😊 And will try a gluten-free flour. Can't wait to try these! Subscribed. 🌟🤩💜

Rolling pin works just as well ❤
Yes! 😁🥰🤗🤩
I'll have that....yes, please! Thanks for sharing! ♥
Awesome!!! 😎😃💕
Cut the sides of a produce bag. Then insert your dough. Use a clear glass pie plate and rock it around in little circles flattening your tortilla. Works with masa dough too.
Great idea! Thank you! 😊🤗🥰
I love sweet potatoes and yams 😋...I'm going to try this with a variety of non wheat flours to see the consistency
Great! Let me know they come out for you. 🥰💖🥰
Yay, this came at a great time. Thank you❤
You are very welcome! 🤗💖🥰
Those look tasty, I love sweet potatoes, and tortillas.
Thank you! Hope you enjoy the recipe! 😊😊😊
Put a damp paper towel, or two, under you board and it will not move. I was told this a while ago and have been using it ever since. The tortillas look great.
Thank you and thank you! 💕🥰💖
Oh thank you ^^ I am definitely gonna try this with different types of flour :) maybe rice flour, coconut flower, oatmeal flower ... we have so many flours here in France :)
thanks for sharing this

@@thedivinechef I was just scrolling through comments to see if anyone had subbed the flour. I might be trying coconut flour? But..buckwheat is good. and I have a tasty brand of it.
@mathewsmith1400 okay Great!!! Let me know how they come out. 😃🥰
@@thedivinechef I used buckwheat flour. at least as much as the dry weight of my sweet potatoes. I also added onion powder & garlic powder. super easy to make & tasty. made them this evening

Thank you for your great ideas. I'm going to try Masa Harina instead of wheat, for my own needs. Just found you. I'll be watching.
Awesome! Hope you enjoy the recipes. 💖🥰🫶🏽🤗
Another great whole food recipe. Thx
Thank you sweet lady! 🤗🥰💕
Must be very delicious. I make chapaty with sweet potato, adding wheat germ, then dry it in low temp in oven.
That sounds delightful. 🥰🥰🥰
I boil my sweet potatoes whole and then peel with my fingers. Saves the step of cutting and keeps the flesh from getting waterlogged. 😊
Yeah that makes sense. If I boil mines again I’m gonna do that. Thank you for sharing. 🥰🤗
