I had a 2021 Cayman S since I was told 2025 will be all electric so I just bought a 2024 Cayman S with configuration exactly the same as the 2021 and it is my fifth Cayman S with a 2015 Cerrara S in between. All my Porsches are yellow! 😊😊😊

Same, but with the base model because the taxes over 2.0L are eye-watering high. Racing yellow too, PASM, all black leather interior, 20 inch Carrera wheels and so on. I'll get it in May 2024.

Thanks so much for sharing this. I’m a woman who loves driving sports cars. Currently driving Corvette C7 but my husband has taken it over so I’m getting a ME car. I thought I was going to go for full manual but seeing PDK in action was intriguing. I simply LOVE the purr and handling of this car. Thumbs up for this review. Much appreciated..

Thanks ! It’s a joy to drive a highly recommend test driving one if you haven’t already you won’t be disappointed with the PDK shifting , that being said I am curious to drive a manual Cayman if any car would be fun to drive as a manual it is a Cayman I just feel it will take away from the daily driving use of it in stop and go traffic manual can be a bit cumbersome.

You're never making a mistake buying a Porsche. And the Cayman S makes 345 HP and 310 Lb Ft of torque. 0 to 60 in 4.5 sec and over 180 MPH top speed. Carrol Shelby himself said you cannot really use more than 300 HP on public roads...not and keep your license. And Porsche consistently finishes in the top 5 in the world in initial quality. When you buy a Porsche you are buying a very well made car you can legitimately daily drive. Buy it.

Great video and I love your car man. Felt like I was there with you. Always dreamt of owning a Porsche as the last 5 cars I've owned were BMW's. Currently drive a '23 BMW X3M40i which it a beast of an SUV to drive and very fun and practical. However, I'm also a Porsche fan and an itching to get either a Cayman S, Cayman GTS 4.0 or possibly a Carrera/Carrera S, although those have gotten quite pricey. Greeting from Florida 🙂 -Mark

First, fun opening sequence! Caught my attention. Thanks for this review. I've had a couple Boxsters - the most recent a 981 S (flat 6) putting out ~320 hp. I also had a 987.2 Cayman S which I miss to this day (though the 981 was the better car, no doubt). But there's a 2017 Cayman 718S with all the fixin's for sale in my area that has caught my eye and about 20k depreciation vs your car new, and as much as some people moan about the 4 banger turbo sound, it sounds darn good to me as you get on it. I could see how the pops and crackles might get to you in Sport but since they're gone in regular mode and Sport +, no harm no foul if you don't want them around. Your 718 guards red and black rims are sweet. Enjoy the ride and you got me champin' at the bit for another Cayman. Cheers and again, thanks for the review.

    • @SketchUpArchitects
      @SketchUpArchitects  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Thanks Marc! I have never driven the Flat 6 engine on the cayman I’m curious to see how different the sound is, when I tell people it is a 4 cylinder they are surprised, it doesn’t sound like a 4 banger. Porsche has tuned this engine wonderfully , I enjoy the pops and crackles , sometimes I do wish the engine was louder tho.

Imo, the sport chrono is kind of a gimmick option. My 2019 Boxster 2.0 doesn't have it, and it still launches from 0 to 60 in 4.02s, and i did have dragy gps to time it, so it's accurate.
I'm not sure how it achieved that time, but that's pretty ridiculous for a base model.
I'm not going to comment on aesthetic options because that's personal preference, but id however gone with satin or silver wheels, in contrast with the guards red. Mine is also a guards red and I went with silver, although it would have been nice to have the satin, but it was out of stock.
Fun fact: The boxster spoiler deploys a little bit lower than the cayman does, simply because of the difference in aerodynamics properties. And, some cars in different market have soft limiter at 4,000rpm when you rev it at a stand still in Park or Neutral.
    Beautiful car anyways! Enjoy it.

Let me help you understand :) It has nothing to do with smoking. If you don't option it, there is an ugly little cubby hole that is not much use for anything, so it is about the looks and at least with the 981, it was one of the only two free options ;) Also, at least with the 981, there is a flimsy little rubber patch glued to the bottom of the cubby hole which looks really cheap and does not even fit very well, so I have considered getting the smoker package aftermarket even. It looks shite without and costs nothing to have... it is not an invitation to smoke ;)

I'm going for the GTS 4.0 poverty spec. I like as little electronics as possible and the upgraded interior bits i feel like is a waste in a sports car with such a small cabin space. I would definitely dress up a Cayenne Turbo GT. But here's my build $650 GT Silver, $220 Porsche logo in satin black, $470 Heated Multifunction Sport Steering Wheel in Carbon Fiber, $250 Manual Gear Lever with Carbon Fiber Trim. I would do the PCCB but they discontinued in the U.S for MY2022 and I wish there was an option to delete park assist/sensors where they punch holes into your front and rear bumper In Europe that is a paid option. Total MSRP $88990 plus $1350 delivery. I got a lot of the stuff you paid for standard like Sports Chrono, 20" sports wheel in satin black, Sport Exhaust System with two tailpipes in High Gloss Black. Nonetheless nice review!

It’s not you it’s the car, it loves to be pushed and you will love pushing it , safely of course, I suspect only on a track will you only be able to truly appreciate the performance of the Cayman or any Porsche

    4.0 is not a v6 lol, its a flat 6 boxer engine

Yes, mistake on my part, love the flat six
I think I would’ve preferred a six cylinder cayman primarily for the sound but four-cylinder does perform well

Thanks , I’ve had several manual transmission cars in my time, I’m curious to try a Porsche manual but I do enjoy the PDK, it’s also faster so that makes up for some of the loss of the sport feeling of a Manual in my opinion.

Honestly, the PDK is the absolute best configuration. Manual is lame and only persay.

Turbo is way better for torque and driving experience. The NA engines are overrated a d is for purist tool.

I purchased in 2021 new for 89k , currently a new 2024 model with similar spec are going for just above 100k not sure if this is happy or sad news, I think I’m happy they’re not going for less than when I purchased. And they are also hard to find , I was only able to find 3 new similar specs within 500 miles of my area. Also with current interest rates if financing owner will be paying considerably larger amount then previous years. So I think I’m happy with my purchase but sad if buying one now.

It’s a well put together Interior but does lack some modern elements, I can only assume this is intentional when a car like the Porsche Taycan has many modern features

In China, 718 is a sterotypical sports car which is always called "side bitch's car" because it is more preferred by female drivers for its size, interior space, and lower price compared with 911. So ppl think that the rich ppl would purchases this car for their side bitches. LOL....
