Thanks for the APR Stage 1 tune review that I have been waiting for the 718 Cayman. I always had APR tune on all my cars, love them! I can feel the pull of the tune from 11:10-11:15 just by looking at the rear window how fast the white car behind is diminishing.... Enjoy your ride!

Just an FYI (I wish someone had made this comment) ...this video does *not* talk about any numbers as a results of the tune (hp, torque, fuel economy, 1/4 mile, top-speed, lap times, etc.)
Do I need any boost pipes or anything for the tune?

Good video. I just tuned my 718S with the same APR here in San Diego. Quite honestly, I didn’t notice much of a difference. Boost stills remains at 16 psi which all my previous tunes have always increased the psi a few pounds. Perhaps it’s the shitty CA gas…?
i just got my tune on my s from apr and the same only says 16psi. my car feels faster but idk if its just a placebo effect. any update on your car?
My first mod will be the APR tune I am sold. Does the Apr exhaust make big noise difference from stock?
Yeah it's the best first mod! I haven't heard the exhaust in person yet but the clips I've heard online sound pretty good.
I live in Commiefornia so I think I'm out of luck on getting the tune for my GTS!
Any reliability issues? And do you have change spark plugs and coil packs sooner?
None so far, that car had been great. I will be doing normal maintenance on the car soon so I’ll have them check things out for me and I will update in a video.

I highly recommend it, apr really did a great job with this tune. I just ordered a draggy so 0-60 times will be coming soon! Not sure if your subscribed to the channel or not but I’d really appreciate if you did!

The tune from APR is about $1,099 and it didn't effect my insurance cost. My insurance doesn't even know the car is tuned though.

In your upcoming videos please get comments from 911 owners. On what they think of the 4banger giving them a run for their money. And what 911 owners think about the 718 being a sleeper classic when the world is forced to go electric and that 4 doesn’t sound that bad after all.

I have owned 5 nice 911's. I love them but the Cayman/Boxster S/GTS 718's are magical in the fun to drive aspect for me, especially with apr tune. I need to get another 911 and apr it too lol.

Power to weight is probably not far off of the C8... Also better dual clutch... I'm thinking this is the way to go for people who like great handling car without the insane price tag.

my stock 2.0 boxster with chrono did a 12.2 lol
I won t deny your feedback on your tune but I own a 2021 718T so with the 2 liters. I got a downpipe by Kline Innovations, a 100 cells sport cat, removed the particles filter and got a remap. It pulls 392 HP now and I m quicker than the boys that have a 718S with the simple APR tune on it. This tune barely gives you +20 HP in the best case scenario. To be honnest, it is a bit like a placebo effect. Put it on a dyno, that s the best way to know the real gain of power. I won t be surprise to hear you say that s it s a +20 HP or so. Enjoy bro.
You couldn't be more wrong. I have a 2018 Cayman S, run 93 octane and have the APR stage 1 tune. Dyno results at the rear wheel 398.63 @ 5916 rpms and max torque of 405.15 @ 3323 rpms.
How have the H&R been? Too low? Just right?
It is pretty low, you can probably get over 70% of speed bumps but anything that isn’t an average speed bump is a real issue lol
The quality of the ride is great though, no complaints there.

I'm finna APR my 718...even though my Audi's been blowing fuel injector gaskets w APR. As far as dropping, why not coilovers?
A pedal commander will help it feel even more like it's naturally aspirated. Also a must for it. My Macan S is a different experience with it.
Would your recommend it alongside the Apr tune, or by itself?

Really great vid, thanks for the insight. I think in time the turbo-4s are going to be more sought after than the 981 flat 6 in the same way the 90’s Supra are so hot, tuning is going to unleash big power from these turbo engines. Way more than the 981s could get. I give a big thumbs up to every 718 turbo 4 I see between Gainesville and Miami, so if you see a white 2020 GT4 giving you a thumbs up, that could be me!
Aren't you worried about warranty being voided. My macan gts I did a piggyback tuner. Not traceable.
FYI…There’s no speed limiter in stock tune either
