I've used this on dry panels and the results are excellent for a mid range priced product. You don't need much though..... little goes a long way. I apply on the softest microfiber cloth and do a panel at a time, then buff with a clean microfiber. Once again, very little product is needed. Of course paintwork must be prept and clean first!!!!
WOW! I’ve had the ceramic wax for over a week now and still haven’t used it as for I was doing some paint correction and polishing to my car. I was a little but iffy about this rinse off technique, I’m so glad I saw you’re video which proved to me that applying it with no rinsing gives better results! you don’t see a lot of videos like that on YT.
I'm disappointed that I found this video this late as I've used the wet application with unsatisfactory results... Now I'm keen on trying out the dry application! I've watched just about every video on maguiars hybrid ceramic wax and this is the only one to have done a dry application, ironically with the best results on hydrophobicity and chemical resistance than any other application method. Thank you!
I think considering the price point, it's a great deal with great store availability. Looks 95% as good as Nv Lustre, similar durability, and costs 1/8th the price per mL. Sounds like a winner to me.
I think Meguiar's should update the bottle instructions: Apply dry for the foundation layer and immediately buff off. Refresher layers can be sprayed onto the rinse water and buffed dry. I apply mine to dry paint and get great durability and luster as a result.
Hello @RtDK, I tried this on my junker car before using it on my new car. I had this one situation where I applied too much product to metal that was a little to warm, and it left a grease smear. I now make sure i do a fine spray and buff off all dry. I can see where Meguar's wants that little bit of water to be a bit more forgiving. Also, the thin coat of water provides a little lube. I have tried misting a layer of water and just doing it dry, either way it's a really quick way to apply an excellent coat.
Dear maestro Sandro, after watching your video I went to buy this product (here in Mexico it costs 500 pesos around 27USDollars or 20euros); carefully wash my wife's car; I polished it by hand and applied the product dry as you recommended... the result was surprising; the car shines like never before and the water repellency is as described in your video. My wife is so happy that she decided to talk to me again; what she doesn't know is that I first experimented in her car before applying it to mine. Thank you !! ... Greetings from Monterrey.
Excellent video, other auto detail video makers are either lovers or haters, but this is measured and thoroughly tested, also the application process has been examined to discover what works. The best example of non product endorsed content I have seen. Thanks.
I bought this product on a friends recommendation, but when I watched the application videos I didn't use it. Just didn't make sense to me to use it like that. Thanks for your detailed video showing that the dry method is by far the best method. That's what I thought would be the way to go. Thank You for your Quality explanation.
I've done 3 cars with this. All on dry cars. It's been a few weeks and they still look great. My car is usually a lot dustier by now. But it seems to not be as much of a dust magnet. One of the cars is kept outside and that is much better than it normally would be. The headlights and taillights look brand new too. Windows and windscreen are easier to clean with the wipers too. Thumbs up from me.
Sandro, setting the standard again for simple and effective no bullsh&^ testing. Your following is growing on this non bias testing and factual informative videos. Thanks for setting the benchmark on detailing product review, that the general public can then make an informative decision on what will best suit their needs.
I Recently tried the Meguiars ceramic spray wax.. First as instructed and then a dry application and found the same results. A dry application left a much better finish. Very nice job on your video.
This video is by far the best demonstration, and the most descriptive and methodical approach on using this product. Not only for this brand, but other similar products. Cheers to you guys. The video answered all of my questions. I instantly subscribed!
Excellent review with perfect timing. About a month ago I did the dry application on two cars. Neither car is garaged and weren't washed. This method only used a small amount of product. Results were better than expected. Last night before viewing this video I washed both cars and did the recommended spray and rinse method. Once I dried the cars they again looked great. One problem... I used a lot of product. Probably because it was the first time and I over did it. I would adjust next time. But I think next time I would just do the dry app. You don't save that much time and use quite a bit less product. I highly recommend meguires hybrid wax!
Ron B .. I live in florida and just bought a Jeep Cherokee sport 4 x 4. Bright white. There was a sale on the mguires so I bought 2 bottles. I tried it for the first time last Sunday, but the spray it on wet. I was soo surprised the next day. Car looked great. But you recommend using dry ?? I'll try it and see.
I used a wet cloth to spread the product, then a dry towel to dry and buff during the initial application. Subsequent applications is as easy as spraying and rinsing. The longetivity of the hydrophobic properties isn't so much of concern because it is so easy to apply. I use it every time I wash. The gloss is amazing! Maguiars is adamant about using the spray and rinse technique. They claim the product is designed to be applied in that manner. Ive been applying it that way for awhile and have seen amazing results. Just two long sprays on the upper part of each panel. Rinse with a powerwasher starting from top to bottom. Key is to do a dry application initially with a damp towel. Let it cure. Then do the spray application ESCH time you wash
Used beadmaker, didn't bead. Used ceramic wax spray and rinse off like Megauires, had average results like you did and now the bottles finished! Every time you have showcased a nova product, it has done exactly what the description said it does and more! Just picked up the nova spray coating pack from waxit and looking forward to trying them!
I used this product for the first time yesterday. I followed your recommendation on the initial application. It was a little hard to apply until I developed a three towel procedure. It left a good gloss. I'm looking forward to see how it protects
@@King_drew I used one damp with product, one to remove the haze. And one to polish. Iusrd microfiber for all three. The gloss lasts and it's easy to recharge by sorsyiny on a wet car and drying.
I just bought this product, ill be applying it on a dry surface using a wet towel to spread it around. Might solve the "application difficulty'' others encountered
Bought a fiesta st2 mk7 and have been obsessed with keeping the blue bright and vibrant, used to use 222 carnauba wax but it's time consuming, for winter months it just doesn't repel that well, was interested in this product and I was tempted to use it dry and this video has confirmed that I can 😁😁😁😁
I just keep coming back to the hybrid ceramic spray from Meguiar's. I think it's easily one of the best overall products on the market in terms of pricing/value, availability, ease of application, hydrophobicity, gloss, and durability. And I actually get amazing results with instant boost in gloss and restored hydrophobicity using the spray on and rinse off method. The key there, I believe, is to already have a strong foundation layer down (either of the spray or liquid version). Otherwise, spray and rinse gives patchy results with little durability.
I do a wet but hand application for maintenance. Instead of spray and rinse, I spray onto a towel and quickly go over the still wet vehicle, then rinse. It only takes a minute or two extra and I get significantly better coverage, consistency, and use less product. Most people have trouble because they use too much product and/or don't rinse it correctly. They do a standard top down flush like they're removing soap. Where you need a touchless cleaning style rinse, bottom to top, back down to bottom, with pressure. Then do a flood rinse if desired. Even as a professional, I still like what MHCW offers people at a retail level and does for its price. Up there with Seal & Shine in value per bottle. It's what I usually recommend clients use for their coating maintenance because it's quick and easy enough that they'll *actually* do it. If you give them something that's a hassle to acquire and use, they tend to not bother with it. Plus the wet application helps ensure they don't scratch the hell out of their car using dirty towels and/or applying something to a dirty dry car. I even have a bottle of it in some of the ass kissing 😁 aftercare kits I include with my higher end packages.
I purchased a bottle pretty much as soon as it was available for purchase. I’ve been using it for the last 6 months and have been enjoying it quite a bit. I did notice that after the initial recommended application I felt subsequent spray and rinse applications felt lackluster. After getting a tip in autogeekonline, I started playing around with diluting the product. I know that meguiars doesn’t recommend this, but I’ve had no issues with it mixing and staying mixed inside my spray bottle. At the moment I have a 1000ml bottle mixed up 7:1, and my usual procedure now is to wash the car, blow 85-90%+ of the water off the surface, and go around giving each panel a spray or two to use as a drying aid/for lubrication since the surface is basically dry anyway. My plan is to keep dialing up the dilution until it gets to the point where I see some streaking if I’m being belligerent with it. I have noticed a lot more consistent and stronger beading since I started using it this way. I may try a couple dry applications with it undiluted just to see how that feels. Would love to hear your thoughts on diluting the product.
Really a super channel you have. If i could recommend that you use the term "wet surface" rather than "wet paint." Wet paint, in the U.S. anyway, means that the paint / clear coat itself has just been sprayed on the car and is wet. It does not mean that you have put water on a car. Like if you painted a house, a sign would be put up "Careful, Wet Paint."
I always use the hybrid ceramic detailer, finish with spray wax on dry paint. Excellent result! Great video that confirms that I’m not wasting my time waxing 👍🏼
When this product came out! I washed my car. Then while it was wet I sprayed the Ceramic Hybird wax on a $2.00 Micro fiber sponge and applied the wax with the sponge to try and get a even coat. Going back and forth and then side to side. I let the wax dry for 5 minutes to bond to the paint then hit each panel with water. Then make one more round with water to activate the wax. Then dry the car top to bottom. I even put it on the windows. The car is shiney and bright. Wipe the windows and clean the tires and wheels. I have been using this Ceramic Hybird wax since starting my detailing business. My customers ask. What are you using my car sheets water off during the rain and it shines. Just like the day you detailed it. I tell them its my detailing secret. 15 bucks. It saves me having to dry and then apply the wax. I just detailed a customers Odessey van and a ACCORD. The van gray metallic and the car was black. Both hadn't ever been detailed. Most people try and skip the directions. I followed and adjusted the application a little. I haven't hand waxed a car since using the Ceramic Hybird wax. No reason! Shawn
I have a question. Regardless of how I apply this to my windows, I get streaks that are terrible. And getting even the lightest application of the stuff on my glass is UNBELIEVABLY DIFFICULT to remove. Any suggestions or tips will be greatly appreciated. TIA
Am in love with Jet currently, but now tempted to try lustre. That gloss difference from beadmaker, to ceramic wax then to lustre is crazy. I think it would be great in the summer!
Super video comparison. Thank you for your testing. I am already a fan of Meguiar's Hybrid Ceramic Wax, but I was surprised to see that Beadmaker doesn't add the gloss like I thought it did. From now on, I'm applying the Meguiar's on dry paint as opposed to what the manufacturer recommends, as I see if works much better that way. Great job.
Tomorrow morning I will try the wax on a dry surface. Can't wait to see the results. I think I watched every video about the ceramic wax until this clip when I change my mind about how to apply the hybrid ceramic wax. I saw the better results in a dry application. Thy for the video! ^^
Mate, where did you come from? I've been looking for your no bullshit advice all my life! I shouldn't say this but you could charge for this honest and expert advice! And no he didn't pay me to say this😏
Exceptional presentation! Crazy but for all of this time I've been using Meguiars HCW I never even tried it once using a dry application. Those results were very impressive. Will definitely try it next time. Thanks! 👍
I wasted so much of this on my first application. My car is dry right now after using the Ultimate Wash and Wax, going to go apply right now. Subscribed. Your channel is up there with Car Cleaning Guru and Pan The Organiser.
Totally agree. The spray and rinse application seems to be a massive waste of product. i even did my 'homework' and poured over Meguiar's official and 3rd party you tube videos regarding their Hybrid Ceramic Wax. At first I thought i was applying it wrong to my Mazda 3 (Applied a base coat of the product first as per Meguiar's suggestion) but the wet, spray and rinse method was pretty patchy. unless you can get an even fine mist to cover the entire surface of the panel a high pressure water jet is just going to wash off and shine the spot it landed on, despite Meguiar's insistence that a little bit will spread across evenly. this is especially so with vertical surfaces like doors, bumpers and the boot. After wasting about a third of my bottle, I finally did a wash, dry, spray on and wipe application with a secondary wipe to buff as i normally do with Turtle Wax Spray and Wipe. Results were a pretty good shine. I then rinsed the car again an hour later and did a spray and wipe dry. The result is a mirror like shine. So pretty annoyed that the 'recommended' way to use this product it is far from correct/optimal. Although I noticed something odd about Meguiar's- although the shine and the hydrophobic qualities are very good, the feel of the paint surface is not as slick as a normal wax i.e. it doesn't have that satisfying slippery feel of a freshly waxed car. I've hear that Turtle Wax has come up with its own version of a Ceramic Wax too with similar results as Meguiar's but also has the waxed feel. Thanks for the video. It really eased my confusion!!
Wash your car. The while it's wet apply the wax with a Microfiber sponge from Wal-Mart for 2.00. Back and forth side to side. Hit it with water twice all the way around then dry the car. Just that simple. Never put it on dry yet. My way works for me give it a Try. Shawn
That's because YT even knows our thoughts. Its happened to me & my friend also. Ive thought abpout an old Fastways song from the early 80s, thought about it when I was at work , that evening, strangely enough, There it was in my suggested videos, its an old forgotten band & forgotten song. Yet YT knows.
I applied the Maguairs Hybrid Ceramic wax yesterday and initially had mixed results, the front hood looked great whilst the back wasn’t working nearly as well. I found out later it was because I applied too much and it can actually have a negative effect causing the water to not bead as well. A day later with heavy rain and now I’m getting a great result all around the car. Apparently they recommend a couple of sprays max per panel as less it more. I guess we will see with time how long it will last!
I find your videos extra helpful, because you are real and honest. Before i bue a product i firstly chek your chanel. I like to try new products and things, however time and money are alwais an ishue. Tnx a lot
I really enjoyed your video! Using the flat panels that you were using there's no saying that one side was better than the other. I've been using Meguiars hybrid ceramic wax for about two months now! I've never used it the way they prescribe. I have a spray bottle that I put 2 parts water 1 part product. That formula works very well with no streaking! And I do this on the car after I dry it off. And it Buffs out beautifully. I tried using 1 part water, and 1 part Meguiars and I got streaking and it was difficult to buff out by hand. Because the product is so thick! The water beading is very good! For the most part all I have to do is pressure wash and dry with no soap and the product just keeps going and going! With it being so easy to apply sometimes I reapply every other week, just because I can do it! Typically I will do this after a soap wash. I just bought the Turtle Wax Seal and shine! I want to try it but I still have a lot of the Meguiars leftover, using it the way I described. So I'm just waiting. In the meantime I would like to see what you do with the Turtle Wax! It seems as though the Turtle Wax is the new kid on the Block supposedly even outperforming the Maguires! I'd love to see you do a test with that Turtle Wax seal and shine!
Great review. I've been using HCW for ~ 4-5 months on my own car and have been very impressed with the results and ease of use; love that it can be used on trim as well. Applied the first layer as suggested, and have used it as a drying aid on subsequent washes with 1-2 sprays per panel while working in with a microfiber and using a second microfiber to buff dry the leftover product/water. The spray-on and wash-off technique seems like a waste of product. After seeing your video, I'll have to try a dry application on a clean car.
True .... I also found it weird when applying on wet surface , tried 2~3 spray on wet bonnet and wipe it dry and test with water coz its "water activated" but after a minute I sprayed it with water , the water barely bead off felt like it doesn't bond on the surface, then I applied the product dry and have a test, it worked marvelously From there on I just apply with dry surface and maybe with slightly damp cloth to reduce the product consumption during maintenance wash U gonna adapt to different situations when using different products and knows how to do correction in time, and worst case had to polish the penal , wasted bunch of products and money The product is good when u know how to use it
Sandro..interesting test Meguairs's Beadmaker Luster on a panel. So basically one would decide which properties are most wanted ;water repellancy OR slickness. Water repellancy I'd prefer and maybe add a quick detail spray over that for slickness. Rains so much here USA that water sheeting is important. Cheers!
By far the best explanation on how to apply it not just following the direction. I don't understand why meguiar would do the spray and rinse off method though. Seem like a waste of product. Also why didn't meguiar tell us we can also apply it dry? Do they think it's too hard for their consumers?
Hi Sandro. After watching your vid I thought I try the Mag Hybrid Wax. I can confirm that it is one of the best "over the counter" si02 you can buy at the moment. It has nice reflections and is to my view very similar to NV Jet. But having used Jet and Lustre before on my Black car, I would put them in the order of Lustre then Jet then Hybrid Wax in terms of how my car look. But at this stage based on availability and value I would choose Hybrid Wax. Thanks again for the great work you've done
My favorite part of this product is that beautiful gloss it leaves, especially on a black car like mine. I was genuinely impressed by it. Granted, I probably used way too much of it the first time I tried it, but... when you have a shiny new toy, you like playing with it, right? :3
I know that darker paints are the best choice to show visually on camera, the results of a product after application but I think white cars make up a large number of vehicles on the road and would love to see a video from one of my favourite detailing channels 😉 demonstrating best techniques and products to use on white vehicles (especially pearl whites).
Hi Sandro, excellent test. Two questions for you: 1.- Is it ok to use on top of a ceramic coating? Will it last as long? 2.- Do you have to throw away the microfiber towels after applying this sealant? Thanks, Diego
Thanks for doing this testing. I tried it out today and it worked great going on dry! I think Meguiars tells you to apply it via the rinse method so you will use more quickly and have to purchase more!
Glad I picked up a pack of Lustre & Jet to test out rather than HCW, although very interested to see you testing out Turtle Wax Seal'N'Shine against Lustre (and/or a Lustre+Jet combo) as a lot of the US/UK detailers are showing it's very hard to cause it harm (chemically at least). I'd also be interested to see your tests on some other Aussie products (like the Optix range) Cheers!
I used the dry technique as soon as I purchased this product.. glad to see someone else does aswell. I believe that they say only use with water so you need more product. I asked a mequiars "technician" if I can apply it dry.. anwser= "no you can not! Do not!" BS lol
I understand the dry application but I think Meguiars recommends the wet and wipe process as an initial first step to create a base layer. The base layer, from what I understand is supposed to help with the spray and rinse application.
I bought this product I applied to the driver's side of my bonnet and the passenger coated with breadmaker. I work right next to a concrete plant so you can guess how much dust there is. And I've noticed that the driver's side is alot less dusty the the passenger side bonnet.
How does it hold up in a real world scenario? How often is it needed to maintain and recoat? :) i see a lot of guys wet coating with pure results, and just wonder how good it holds up with a dry application.
Looks like I'll be applying my next coat dry. I did mine as directed, and was not impressed. I was going to use up the rest here and look elsewhere, but this video changed my mind. Great video. Thumbs up.
(Sorry Sandro), another rewatch. Just did the entire car using your technique, great suggestion. Made the error of leaving a couple of areas too long to level off, they were harder to get right, almost behaves like carnauba 🥵🥵. My garage is also a bit dark, so I might have some ugly surprises when I get out in the daylight.
I used it first and then went back over it with meguiar quick wax, and rain all night the next day it shine like it never rained, no water marks windshield ether.
Haha, Sandro, this video looks like it should be an instructional one for the Meguiars marketing team themselves. Lol. One would think they would have done this kind of testing before deciding which method of application should be marketed. Another great video mate. Keep up the great work.
This video was amazing and very thorough. I love your style, your tests, and you adding your thoughts and conclusions. Thank you for testing these products against each other. Very valuable.
As a limo driver, with a black car, what I want is a breakthrough in automated car washing technology. I want something quick, cheap, and that doesn't swirl up the finish. Even when I take it to a hand wash, they still cause excessive swirling. I don't have easy access to water at home, so use the waterless method - I find that this produces FAR less marring than any car wash place I've ever been to. All these waxes and sealants are just the icing on the cake for me - it's car *washing* that needs research IMHO. (oh and unfortunately touchless washes are absolutely hopeless)
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing of course, I could pay more and take it to a proper detailer, but that would be rather costly. I have to wash the car very frequently.
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing well, to avoid excessive marring, IMHO, I *always* have to either do it myself, or take it to a good quality detailer. The VERY first time I take it to a standard car wash (other than touchless), it will be swirled excessively. It really is very disappointing. Maybe if I had the fancy ceramic impregnated clear coat that some cars (Mercedes etc) have, it would be better - I'm not sure. When I am looking after the car myself (I go through lazy phases), I simply wipe down with a weak IPA solution, and usually finish off with Megs Ultimate Quik Wax, which I like because it is very thin and easy to buff to a streak free finish. I can do this anywhere I am. The problem I have is that in summer, I get too hot and sweaty, so there is a risk of body odour for my passengers, which is a lot worse than a swirled paint finish. EDIT: if anyone thinks I'd be better off using a proper waterless wash product, I'm not so sure about that. They are often if it not always difficult to buff off, and the more buffing, the more risk of swirls IMHO. Using the IPA solution, gently, causes only very slight swirling - definitely less than any standard car wash, and I can go for months without feeling the need to machine polish. If I take it to a car wash, I feel the need to polish it immediately.
Thanks Sandro your uploads are instant clicks. I haven't tried putting it on dry like that but I've just used a sponge microfiber applicator with one line and did crisscross sections with sprayed deminerlised water as an aide; on the pad and paint. That was 16 days ago with ceramic wax; haven't washed the car since. It's beading on the car still but not sheating much. I'm curious if putting on these sort of sealants as a topper on nano ceramic coatings will prolong thier life spans? I current have reload, bead maker, hydrolite, mcw, ultimate fast finish and kinda just playing with combos. I'm not a pro detailer just doing this as a hobby. I really like fast finish as it comes in an aesol can spray. Just can't stomach how expensive the two meguiar products are here in Aus compared to the States. I'll need to try out that Turtlewax if it's $25AUD that's crazy value compared to the rest. Btw, Sandro I plan on fully do a paint correction on my MK7.5 Lapis Blue Golf R in Sept and put Evo on it, I'm hoping the paint will be like the previous S3 video? Thanks again for the content, wish you were here in Sydney.
Perhaps there should be a 4th way of applying the product where you spray it on dry but wipe over with a damp cloth. This would help with the streaking i would imagine and still leave a good amount of product on the surface.
Such a great video, extremely helpful - thank you. One thing i'm trying to understand is the importance of water beading. It certainly looks cool to see the little beads of water roll off the paint, and also cements the idea that your product is sticking to the paint surface and gives you a visual confirmation that it's providing that bonded layer. Howerver, what i notice is that although water that 'sheets', looks boring, and slow to roll off the paint, when it does roll off, it actually seems to leave behind less water droplets like beaded water. You can see that in the very last moments of the video. Hmm 🤔 Why I mention this - Think dirty rain landing on your car and those little 'dirty' beads remaing on your bonnet. Does this mean that sheeting rain water keeps your car cleaner after dirty rain compared to beading water that remains behind? I'm talking between washes.
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing That makes sense, especially the part about road contamination. I guess my main point is that it's better for water to move off the paint, regardless of if it beads or sheets. People have become obsessed with static beads forgetting they will dry on your paint leaving spots i.e when it rains. Moving beads would be more disirable me thinks :). Interesting article on water beading for anyone interested.. www.drbeasleys.com/blog/2019/01/21/water-beading-beads-are-bad/
After watching this video Ive done dry application and can attest that it is holding up well after 1.5 months and 3 washes. The water is beeding nicely.
@@Raptors0524 I reapplied the wax for the winter about month ago and drove through rain on the highway last week and the water was beeting off of my car. It was a pretty cool. I have never tried the wet application but the I can confidently say dry application holds up well. I originally applied this in August and up until mid to late November (when I reapplied) the car was still beeting water relatively well even after a number of washes.
@@symz81 this makes me happy. I was thinking of switching to TW Hybrid solutions line however the results you are getting are really good. Does your car sit outside all the time? Also, did you try the ceramic detailer? I was thinking of overlaying that on top of the wax. Wonder if that would give me more durability? 🤷🏼♂️
I also would like to see that test with Turtle Wax Seal N Shine- as it is the latest thing since Bead Maker. Have seen many videos putting the Turtle Wax Seal N Shine against expensive similar products under more strenuous torture testing and Turtle Wax just keeps performing after the other products have failed.
I hated the turtle wax. It left a greasy film after i applied it and it was a nightmare to remove, even misting it with water it wouldn't come off. It may not last as long but the megiuars i feel is easier to use.
John G it Was 6 $ Unfortunately it went up probably due to all the videos. Now it’s $10 which is still in bed but it kind of pisses me off what Amazon does I’ll just go to Walmart and get it for 649
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing lol I bet it is bud. Jokes on the down low I really do appreciate all the work you put into a 'll your videos mate really fantastic work that should be appreciated on a higher level like some sort of awards night for you tube videos. You would take it out for shore, You know it.
Great review Sandro. Actually, Megs has been making ceramic coatings for many years but don't offer them in the US ( or Aus evidently) according to Megs Reps. I think they say they are offered in Asia and Europe. If you listen to the interviews on Jimbo's Auto Detailing Podcast and Matt's Obsessed Garage you can hear them talk about it. HCW was developed as a maintenance product for their coatings and decided to also offer it in the US after development iirc.
PS - here is Megs showing how they want you to apply the product and why How to apply Meguiar's Hybrid Ceramic Spray Wax properly th-cam.com/video/Zk-OwkIlYLs/w-d-xo.html
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing Me too. Megs has always been pretty cautious about product intros. Barry had to BEG his family to even enter the consumer market way back when he was a young man (circa 1960s). They have always been focused on body shops - that's their bread and butter. I am sure they haven't introduced the coating here because they are still primarily focused on that market and weren't too interested in cannibalizing sales in the much smaller detailer and consumer markets by offering longer lasting products that require some hand-holding. Just my gut. FYI, most ppl in US didn't even know what ceramic coating were 10 years ago. When Simonize developed the first product, Glass Coat it was new car dealership only. In '12 it only cost me $500 to have a full sized Silverado coated inside and out mainly because nobody really knew what they were or their value. Here's a Modern Marvel's episode that explains the history of ceramic coatings th-cam.com/video/ji1GG4O9l1U/w-d-xo.html
I just used half of the bottle using the wet method and it didn't look really good. I wish I've seen this earlier before i applied it again using the dry method.
You've done what most of the internet can't, a logical and clear examination of this product with information I can actually use. Thanks for that.
He nailed it
Damn, Ur the only one in TH-cam that's done a dry application that turned out to be way better than wet application. Thumbs up for me 👍🏽
And another 76 thumbs up!!!

WOW!
I’ve had the ceramic wax for over a week now and still haven’t used it as for I was doing some paint correction and polishing to my car.
I was a little but iffy about this rinse off technique, I’m so glad I saw you’re video which proved to me that applying it with no rinsing gives better results!

It was...!!!. Great video!!!...
Absolute banging review, mate. Everything was relevant with no BS. Your time and effort is greatly appreciated.
Thanks for sharing that and it’s great to hear!
Sandro, setting the standard again for simple and effective no bullsh&^ testing. Your following is growing on this non bias testing and factual informative videos.
Thanks for setting the benchmark on detailing product review, that the general public can then make an informative decision on what will best suit their needs.
I have used it dry this entire time never had a problem in 2 years work great as long as the car is clean great product.
This video is so addictive and informative. No useless stuff
This really is a brilliant piece of review. No bullshit, simple, truthful and yet extremely helpful. Thanks for this
I Recently tried the Meguiars ceramic spray wax.. First as instructed and then a dry application and found the same results. A dry application left a much better finish. Very nice job on your video.
Completely agree with the dry application. I do it that way all the time and it lasts for a few months!
This has become my favorite channel as of late.
I just applied ceramic wax couple of days ago (according to the instructions) but your dry application looks way better man
I used this product for the first time yesterday. I followed your recommendation on the initial application. It was a little hard to apply until I developed a three towel procedure. It left a good gloss. I'm looking forward to see how it protects
Yea i agree. The dry application is no joke lol. I only used 2 towels. What method of towels are you applying?damp dry dry?
@@King_drew I used one damp with product, one to remove the haze. And one to polish. Iusrd microfiber for all three. The gloss lasts and it's easy to recharge by sorsyiny on a wet car and drying.
I just bought this product, ill be applying it on a dry surface using a wet towel to spread it around. Might solve the "application difficulty'' others encountered
I did both methods, didn’t see a real difference
Bought a fiesta st2 mk7 and have been obsessed with keeping the blue bright and vibrant, used to use 222 carnauba wax but it's time consuming, for winter months it just doesn't repel that well, was interested in this product and I was tempted to use it dry and this video has confirmed that I can 😁😁😁😁
Finally, the video that shows all three methods.
It didn't make sense to me that the wet application and rinse off method could be better than dry application so I'm glad you showed it here.
Your the best on TH-cam , your testing standard and comparison is way better than all other auto detailing TH-camrs
Try seal & shine , I think it's better than ceramic wax
You might want to edit your post. Maybe “your testing standards blow everyone else out of the water” as it stands, reads like sexual favors
This video really help a lot. NO wonder i just got average protection. Even Meguiars' bottle instruction not always true.
I love the ceramic wax, but now I think I have to try lustre. Slickness and gloss looks off the charts.
Finally a video that actually shows you how to use it
Really a super channel you have.
TIA
Great tests with visual logic. So many detailing channels have useless video. This is very useful!
Am in love with Jet currently, but now tempted to try lustre. That gloss difference from beadmaker, to ceramic wax then to lustre is crazy. I think it would be great in the summer!
Lustre is awesome you won't be disappointed, been using it for around a year now, gloss gloss gloss. And I have a white car.
Great job.
You're a life saver! I've always thought of using it as a dry application. Thanks!
Most helpful and informative video on this product I have seen anywhere. Thank you!!
Shawn
Was literally just thinking when u were going to make a video about this and boom there it is
That's because YT even knows our thoughts. Its happened to me & my friend also. Ive thought abpout an old Fastways song from the early 80s, thought about it when I was at work , that evening, strangely enough, There it was in my suggested videos, its an old forgotten band & forgotten song. Yet YT knows.
TH-cam, facebook, twitter, instagram they can all Read your thoughts. I wear tinfoil hat now
Very interesting result on the dry application. And confirmed my suspicions about the spray & rinse method.
Been looking for answers about using it on a dry surface. Thanks!
It was a lot better than I thought it would be.
When I sprayed it on the paint before drying I used my hand to mix it in and it worked well.
True ....
I also found it weird when applying on wet surface , tried 2~3 spray on wet bonnet and wipe it dry and test with water coz its "water activated" but after a minute I sprayed it with water , the water barely bead off felt like it doesn't bond on the surface, then I applied the product dry and have a test, it worked marvelously
From there on I just apply with dry surface and maybe with slightly damp cloth to reduce the product consumption during maintenance wash
U gonna adapt to different situations when using different products and knows how to do correction in time, and worst case had to polish the penal , wasted bunch of products and money
The product is good when u know how to use it
Sandro..interesting test Meguairs's Beadmaker Luster on a panel.
Two questions for you:
1.- Is it ok to use on top of a ceramic coating? Will it last as long?
2.- Do you have to throw away the microfiber towels after applying this sealant?
Thanks, Diego
Thanks for doing this testing. I tried it out today and it worked great going on dry! I think Meguiars tells you to apply it via the rinse method so you will use more quickly and have to purchase more!
Exactly
I used it as a dry application too!!! Itwa bear to get off and keep from streaking, but it looks soooo much better.
Turtle wax seal n shine next please
its very good
Yeah great product, been using it on my wheels, holds up as good as polish angle super sport but give the gloss to PA. Way way way cheaper 😁
Yeah I've seen a lot of good things about it. I want to see Sandro review it though
@@WildDanHibiki Sandro will, in time, he's a man that thinks sleep is over rated lol, but is very busy as you can appreciate.
Great product and half the price.
ok this is the one video that made me buy meguiars ceramic spray
I understand the dry application but I think Meguiars recommends the wet and wipe process as an initial first step to create a base layer. The base layer, from what I understand is supposed to help with the spray and rinse application.
I bought this product I applied to the driver's side of my bonnet and the passenger coated with breadmaker. I work right next to a concrete plant so you can guess how much dust there is. And I've noticed that the driver's side is alot less dusty the the passenger side bonnet.
Awesome review my friend. I've experienced and noted the same results with this product. I love the stuff tbh.
How does it hold up in a real world scenario? How often is it needed to maintain and recoat? :) i see a lot of guys wet coating with pure results, and just wonder how good it holds up with a dry application.
This is quite helpful, just bought my first wax bottle and I look forward to use it tomorrow 🙃
Looks like I'll be applying my next coat dry. I did mine as directed, and was not impressed. I was going to use up the rest here and look elsewhere, but this video changed my mind. Great video. Thumbs up.
Where Have you been all my life Sandro ! This is the content I been looking for ! Going through you’re whole catalog of videos mate !
Right here lol, I’ll hope you enjoy the videos!
(Sorry Sandro), another rewatch. Just did the entire car using your technique, great suggestion. Made the error of leaving a couple of areas too long to level off, they were harder to get right, almost behaves like carnauba 🥵🥵. My garage is also a bit dark, so I might have some ugly surprises when I get out in the daylight.
i wish all youtube reviews were as practical and as good as this..... excellent
I used it first and then went back over it with meguiar quick wax, and rain all night the next day it shine like it never rained, no water marks windshield ether.
I liked the dry application but i wet the towel to buff out after spraying the wax then dry buff doing dry it’s really hard to take it out.
wow. this video just answered everything I wanted to know about this product. Nice work!
Haha, Sandro, this video looks like it should be an instructional one for the Meguiars marketing team themselves. Lol.
One would think they would have done this kind of testing before deciding which method of application should be marketed.
Another great video mate. Keep up the great work.
Probably one of the best comparison videos I've seen. Great job
This video was amazing and very thorough. I love your style, your tests, and you adding your thoughts and conclusions. Thank you for testing these products against each other. Very valuable.
Just did a dry application and the gloss is amazing
I am a huge fan of the Meguiar's HCW, I use it everytime I wash my car, works wonders (not just for beading)!
Bead maker is the definition and reigning champion of over hyped products.
Agreed man... glad we got shine n seal from turtle wax to obliterate those hype products with ridiculous prices
Carlos Rivera Bead Maker...aka dust magnet.
Wow you just saved me a lot of money. Going back to this product. Thanks buddy!
Thanks for your review of Meguiars, I'm going to pick up some Lustre! 😁
With the winter weather happening now, I think this ceramic wax spray will do the trick. A good wash, then dry application and curing.
Yeah I tried both wet and dry. Dry works way better.
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing cheers good to hear!
Perhaps there should be a 4th way of applying the product where you spray it on dry but wipe over with a damp cloth. This would help with the streaking i would imagine and still leave a good amount of product on the surface.
Hi Sandro, another refreshing perspective on HCW review. Agree on your off level testing to explore the product capabilities.
How is it holding up now?
Would like to see you test Turtle Wax Seal & Shine. $6.00 US for a 16-ounce bottle on Amazon.
That's a test that I would like to see as well!
Now it’s $10 which is still in bed but it kind of pisses me off what Amazon does I’ll just go to Walmart and get it for 649
@@richardvacanti4265 You can't even get it at Walmart for $6.49 any more, they've raised the price also to $9.97.
Be interesting to see Kamakazi over coat vs jet vs lustre, gloss, durability water beading and so forth. Add that too your list Sandro?
PS - here is Megs showing how they want you to apply the product and why

@@kikcodog I forgot dealers where applying coatings if wanted it when buying a new car. Gear video Sandro
I just used half of the bottle using the wet method and it didn't look really good. I wish I've seen this earlier before i applied it again using the dry method.
