    In Britain we sure know what rust is but you treat it easily but rubbing it off with wire wool (or scrunched up aluminium foil that doesn't hurt the chrome, but its more work) then dabbing on kurrust which turns it black and it never comes back.

    You use what you have - exactly lol.
    Our little VTR used to take a while to warm up too - and no way would it run properly until it was!
    I watched roadcraft nottingham do a 0-60 (mph) on a little 50cc moped about 3 years ago... the clock is still running ha ha!!
    Nice one mate.

    Hey Marty I think she's a lovely little bike ...theres potential for bobbery or a stock resto...or ,just they way she is . A cracking machine brother! You know me with nostalgia 👍♥️😁

    • @volgnit
      @volgnit  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ya know mate, I was thinking of you when I had a close look at the little bike. What would springy do I asked meself ? Well, get everything re chromed was the answer my inner springy gave me. So we shall see.
      I could've titled this one, " Trisha's new toy. Suzuki GN250."
      But that might've left me open to some smart arse comments in 12 months time when she had never driven, I mean, ridden it.

    Nothing wrong with the Vloging gear Marty it sounds great. There must be millions of those GN's out there!

      @volgnit  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Noel. I was surprised at how well the audio came out, but then it was just a quick tootle around the block. The GN series were bikes and no nonsense, which is why they were so successful I guess.

    Hi Marty, I think I had a helmet just like that one, about 40 years ago as well. Sounds like your vlogging apparatus works well. Always nice to go for a ride on something different, thanks for bringing us along. They are calling for snow here Monday, I'm curious was that a fruit tree growing by your shed ?

    • @volgnit
      @volgnit  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      That was our lemon tree Bob, with the remnants of last winter's crop. The helmet I had when I first met Mrs V. I guess that's why I never threw it out. Thanks for watching mate.

    • @volgnit
      @volgnit  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah mate it would. But knowing me it would be another unfinished project haunting me every time I walked past it. Lol ! I will have to do something to tidy up the rusty bits tho.

    • @iRidetas
      @iRidetas 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Either way its a still a great looking little beast. And will just finish it off to clean up the surface rust!

      @volgnit  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah Nev, if you don't look too close. Lol ! Still she does what is required, so pretty doesn't matter I guess.

    Ps a cheap poly carbonate lid wouldn't be a bad idea I alway have one just in case ?

    • @volgnit
      @volgnit  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Me and Mrs V actually went into a shop and I tried on a couple of open face helmets but decided to wait and see what the repair bills for the two big bikes will add up to. You're right though. I need to have a decent spare lid.

    Nice little nike, I'm sure with a little tlc it'll shine like new again, RSM8.

    • @volgnit
      @volgnit  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The paintwork is all still in great order, it's just that crappy chrome that needs sorting. A bit of tlc as you say Skeggy. Cheers mate. Ride safe, stay dry, when you can !!

    • @volgnit

      Bit short for welding, but I figured they were better than bare skin on the road. Lol !

    Needs must Marty. The chrome looks better quality than my two ‘70s Suzuki GTs that I once owned

  • @CalmBiker
    @CalmBiker 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Ah chrome. I try to avoid chrome for that very reason.
    Funky little bike. I like it :-)

    • @volgnit
      @volgnit  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've never seen such poor quality chrome to be honest mate. Nice little bike though.

  • @paullee6663
    @paullee6663 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    And..... Puff!!! Just like magic you are transported back to your teenage years.... Suzuki looks pretty good, nothing a bit of elbow grease and some Solvol Autosolve won't fix (hope it's available to you down there, it's a great chrome cleaner) Other makes are available as they say.... Good job you remember what a choke looks like...He He!! Thankfully fun on a bike is not always measured by $$ spent. Hope everything is going OK with the Guzzi and the BM. TCRSM8

    • @volgnit
      @volgnit  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Paul. Yeah mate, always a tube of Autosol around but that chrome is beyond even that I'm afraid. Still, it's only cosmetic so it may make a good project for next winter. Riding the little bike is fun, for sure.
      Things are coming along okay with the other bikes. So far so good. Fingers and toes still crossed.

  • @grayman999
    @grayman999 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Autosol and then ACF 50 or similar Marty sounds like Woody ? speed isn't what these bikes are about mate ,take a chilled ride country lanes ,great bike I love it bring her round mate I could sort that for you I even make coffee while I'm at it but no biscuits I'm on a diet 😖ps that GN engine is the same as my Pulse !twin exhaust mine is single but that's it ?

    • @volgnit
      @volgnit  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      She's a lovely little bike Graham but I think even your wonderful detailing skills would be beaten by that rusty chrome. It's ugly mate. I'm thinking of either getting it all rechromed locally, or stripping and painting. I'll take you up on that coffee one day my friend. For sure.

    • @grayman999
      @grayman999 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Volgnit once it gets under the Chrome your buggered ,I finally realised I need another bigger engined bike to compliment Woody ,but don't want an HP deal has to be cash ,anyway I shall spend the next six months looking in various places till I find what I want it's just for the distance stuff I'm thinking four cylinder 600 as I don't ever carry a pillion max price £2500 but seen a few 750's an old GSX 750 teapot caught my eye anyway we shall see best too you mate 👍

    I think those bikes are ugly as sin, but as a learner or small commuter you simply can't fault them. the GN like the DR and many other bikes, just work. they are what they are and pretty good at it.

    • @volgnit
      @volgnit  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ugly as sin is a bit harsh mate. Lol ! It is no beauty for sure but it does what it was made for, with no silly frills. And it's fun to ride as well.

    Vives en un lugar donde hay demasiada humedad, eso no debe de ser bueno ni para los huesos.
