Go get one mate, I'm 48 and my dad is 70 years old and we love cruising around on our converted caferacer gn250's and the amount of attention they get from people is incredible...you only live once mate 👍
Here I am, a year later, realising I've watched this video before, but now I have a full m/c lic, an MT-07 and tomorrow my GN250 is being delivered. Can't wait.
Hi Gary, great job! I am renovating an 82 one, but I am struggling for the one clock with neutral, high beam and blinker connection. Could you help me to find the correct color connections please?
Hi Hugo In the video they are the original clocks But since making the video I've changed the clock to a single clock that I bought of Ebay when the clock arrived to my horror all the wires were different colours and there was no connector so I had the pain staking job of trying to match the different coloured wires to the the existing connector which I managed to do and wasn't to hard it's just a matter of doing one wire at a time and not rushing or being disturbed, if there is anything else I can help with give me a shout mate 👍
@@gazevanschooselife1207 Thanks Gary, I took some time and found where everything should be connected! just one yellow indicator of the blinkers wasn't working, but I was missing the flasher relay that just arrived, so I guess I will go back to the bike later to check this last light! Be safe and have good rides with your son.
Alan Bray we didnt stiffen the forks all we did was undo a few botls on the yoke and a couple on the side underneath the headlight and tapped the forks up with a rubber hammer ...pretty easy really mate nothing to it 👍
That's the fastest and practical way to go. But you can also cut an 1"-2" off of your fork springs. Will be lower and stiffer so you don't hit the tire and stuff.
It's the fish eye lense on the GoPro that makes it look faster they are standard and it may also be the short exhaust that makes them sound more tuned up mate 👍
Hi mate thanks for you nice comment The forks are the standard forks there just lowered I got most of my stuff for Sheffield Caferacer Click the link below caferacerseats.co.uk
Brautiful video! Congrats! I have a GN125 cafe racer and just bought a GN250 98’ standard to custom it with approx 50k kmts. May I ask you two questions? 1) how many miles do your machines had when you started the project? And 2) those handlebars looks pretty cool, but are them comfortable to ride? Thanks in advance 🙏🏼
Hi mate I got very lucky when I bought my bike it was a 1990 Gn 250 which had been owned by a very old man who hardly ever used it and it was in fantastic condition with less than 1000 miles on it my dad on the other hand was quite old and had about 20,000 miles on it and the engine wasn’t the best and he ended up putting a new engine in it the handle bars are clip on’s my bike which I purchased from a place in Sheffield in the UK called Sheffield Caferacers I’ll put the link below thanks for watching mate and good luck with your project 👍🏻 caferacerseats.co.uk/
I´m about to convert my GN250 to some kind of cafe racer too. Can you tell me where you bought theese parts for yours bikes? I live in Denmark :) Thanks, and great video!

xabbi bronson Hi thanks for your nice comments The bike will do about 75/80mph we didn't buy them as speed machines, more for style and every time me and my dad are out we get hell of a lot of interest from bikers so I'd say get a GN250 and go for it , We are still working on ours to make more improvements.
Samuel Abittan Hi Sam we were only doing between 60/80 mph the fish eye lense on the GoPro makes it look faster than it is. thank you for your nice comment 👍
Are you changing style or just colour scheme. They both look great already!! I gave my 1991 GN a street scrambler look and I'm pleased with how it turned out. It's a blast on the B roads around Kent. I still feel it's maybe got a bit more to give at the top end, which is why I asked about your carb settings.
Tim Schofield ive bought a longer petrol tank and a full leather single seat also ive taken the clocks off and bought a retro single clock with built in indicator neutral and main beam light ttps://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F132267911255
I went riding yesterday and a dude in our group was on a GN250. Great sounding bike with a lot of character. It didn't seem as quick as these two though. Are these stock or have they been tweaked ?
Just goes to show that you can have loads of fun on a 250. I will say though it seems like you are riding directly behind your buddy and pretty close sometimes which is not the safest so be careful out there.
One of the Best Suzuki gn250 cafes ive seen on youtube
I just turned my '88 into one
BackIntoGear Thanks very much for your kind words me and my dad built them together.
Here I am, another year later, finally chased the witches out of my GN250, fantastic bike, had a really nice summer on it. Love this bike.

I loved the sport style handlebars!
This video makes me happy, I had a Suzuki 250 as a teenager and now nearly 40 years old I feel like getting one again.

Please do a video on these bikes. I love what you've done to them they look great. I just bought a GN yesterday I'd love to emulate the way these look

If I remember rightly I think we just changed the front brake cable everything else was ok
Nice video bro where are you from please tell me your country name
We are from England mate 👍🏻

Saartjie_69 Hi mate its called a shorty

lol good video
Hi, how did you stiffen the forks to allow you to drop the yokes so much???
Alan Bray
we didnt stiffen the forks all we did was undo a few botls on the yoke and a couple on the side underneath the headlight and tapped the forks up with a rubber hammer ...pretty easy really mate nothing to it 👍

Hey mate, what handlebars are you using?
Hi mate one bike has clip on bars the other as standard drops you can find on eBay mate
Has the original gn250 performances like these two?
It's the fish eye lense on the GoPro that makes it look faster they are standard and it may also be the short exhaust that makes them sound more tuned up mate 👍
Would you have considered the gn300 cylinder kit on ebay?
Aaron Cosbey never given it any thought mate I'll check it out
Are they the standard gn forks ? Also what seat and cowl have you used ? Brill video by the way.
Hi mate thanks for you nice comment
The forks are the standard forks there just lowered

Amazing video, sounds and bikes! Congratulations. Did you recomend me to buy a gn 250? Wich is its final speed? Greetings
xabbi bronson Hi thanks for your nice comments

Such a lovely bike, and Nice to see a som and a dad riding and making bikes together, could you make a video on how you make the bikes so Nice
Stunning bikes! Wonder what speeds were you guys riding at and what would the top speed be on one of those? Looks damn fast in the vid
Samuel Abittan Hi Sam we were only doing between 60/80 mph the fish eye lense on the GoPro makes it look faster than it is.
thank you for your nice comment 👍
They both look really good. Are you running stock carb settings?
Tim Schofield it just the standard carbs I’m actually doing more work on my bike this winter it will look completely different when it’s finished
Are you changing style or just colour scheme. They both look great already!! I gave my 1991 GN a street scrambler look and I'm pleased with how it turned out. It's a blast on the B roads around Kent. tdunster2011 i think its the fish eye lens on the GoPro which seems to make it look like its faster than it is mate
is this bike using standard engine? or already tune up engine?
Standard mate 👍
really ? damn that pretty fast for a standard engine. btw i really like your build .
I think it's the fish eye lense on the GoPro that gives a false perception of speed mate
what's the top speed on your Suzuki 250?
They are only 250cc bikes top speed was 70mph
it's slow in terms of speed but it sure is fun to ride
@@jasperdomacena6491 your right mate we never built them for speed just fun 👍
Beautiful machines :-) How many HP do they have? I consider getting a 18hp gn 250 and I wonder if it would be as powerful as the ones in the video.
Hi mate the bikes in the Video are standard engines I've just Googled the HP because I wasnt sure and it seems they are 22HP 👍
I miss her
Dis Count you miss who mate?
top speed?
70mph they were built for fun and not speed 👍
Just goes to show that you can have loads of fun on a 250. I will say though it seems like you are riding directly behind your buddy and pretty close sometimes which is not the safest so be careful out there.
Thanks for your nice comment mate , it me and my Dad in the video my old man thought he was at the TT when I took the camera out 👍🏻😀
looks like 200k...
Nice video. Your father is faster jaja
Jesus Domingo Ha ha if you look closely you'll see we switch the camera between us mate 😀👍🏻
Gary Evans hahaha true, didnt realized ✌✌
did you buy a ne clamp to drop the front end like that?
No just lowered the forks by loosening the bolts that hold the forks and pushed them down mate
