I chose to kill him in my current playthrough (it's at the end of the vid). I guess there's lots of vids of people dealing with him head on, I wanted to show other options, particularly if viewers are struggling with him, or trying to keep clean kill stats. I agree it's not as fun to avoid, or let him off the hook 🙂

I remember being ambushed by Peter. I thought he was like any other Bandit until I looked at his name after killing him. After finding out he was who I fought in the tourney, I thought that was very good story telling since the game doesn't directly warn you until it's too late, unless you do that one quest prior about the missing guy.
I like that Peter sets up the ambush close to your "home", where you might have your guard down. The surprise factor, getting poisoned, Peter's dialogue before the Tourney, and finding out the backstory through Dead Men Tell No Tales, all together makes it a really memorable encounter 🙂

No not only do I kill him I saved the game and reload killing him at least 10 times a playthrough I play the merciless playthrough. I 1400 kills 500 being civilians. Skiltaz made my Henry's heart turn cold.
First time I was ambushed I was so confused as I was missing the context. After I had done Dead Men Tell No Tales side quest, then it made sense and it was fun messing with him 🙂 That being said I haven't done a merciless playthrough yet, 1400 kills is massive!

I was considering letting him live, until he got a hit off on me and i noticed i was freaking poisoned!! At that point i was like "ok screw this dude".
The first time I was ambushed I hadn't started the Dead Men Tell No Tales side quest and I was so confused without the story context! I was caught off guard, poisoned and 💀 but I was genuinely surprised. It was cool to then discover the side quest, and get what was going on.

I play bad Henry transitioning to good Henry. At the start I do all of the bad quests, Millers, Hans and Fritz, fight club, etc. By the time I go to Pirkstein the first time my character is usually pretty advanced in stealth, pickpocket and unarmed, but very lacking in combat skills. This is a good solution to Black Peter. Thanks.
That's some nice roleplaying! I tend to do a bit of everything, but I like the idea of starting out bad, it makes sense with Peshek being one of the first quest givers you encounter. Thanks for the feedback 🙂
Black Peter had every right to seek revenge considering how many of you cheesed and powergamed your way to beating him.
Thank you genuinely lol at this 😂. I get a kick out of looting NPCs and then talking to them while wearing their gear (Black Peter included). Wish they responded in some way.
My Henry had to eliminate Black Peter.
I wonder if Black Peter's death is canon in KCD lore. Imagine if he returned in KCD2 🤣 Probably unlikely.. but if he doesn't, I hope WH include an equally notorious antagonist.
Fighting this guy was a pain and I had master strikes and block.
How did you end up dealing with him? Directly or stealth or another way? For direct, I found I had the best success with maces and longswords.
@@turismo_gaming I used the long sword and just tried to block every shot, if they didn't telegraph the attacks I wouldn't have been able to do it. Got him against the wall of the shed where Henry beds Theresa and kept clinching and pushing him towards the wall so he doesn't get too far then I strike his head to try get the nutcracker perk going. He still managed to strike me a few times so by the time he died i had to sprint into the mill and check what potions I had in my chest before the poison got me.
Tldr: tried my best to cheese him with clinching and head shots.
Nice! Thanks for explaining. Similar experience, I usually try to keep him near the ambush spot as I wasn't sure of the impact on Peshek/Theresa and any randoms walking past. I had some success avoiding the poisoning by keeping my stamina high, and being patient attacking, but not reliably enough to include in the vid.
I think I'm far ahead at this point that I won't be able to go back and do it, but this was quite informative to me. So thank you so much for the informative video.

I'm glad you could see something new 🙂. I found out about that camp during the Next to Godliness quest, but I learnt that you could loot the contestants from a comment on a previous KCD video I posted.

The first ever time I fought him the fight was 10 minutes long and the ambush caught me off guard and nearly fucked by the time Henry recovered
But I had a secret weapon, guard’s spear that he dropped to equip a torch

Lol that is awesome! I was so confused the first time I was ambushed as I hadn't started Dead Men Tell No Tales yet and was missing the context. I fought him normally, was poisoned and died. I have not tried a poleman/spear against him... I would think the extra distance, and inability for him to master strike would help? Thanks for sharing 🙂
You can even loot him three times, because after you win the tourney for the second time, he will ambush you again. :D
😯 what?!?! If you loot him after the first tourney win, and leave him to wake up, and then win the tourney a second time...does he get his gear back? Am I understanding that correctly?

This is weird, you sneak up to him in full armor?
I tried this recently and whatever I was wearing or how careful I was, he always got alerted and attacked, there was absolutely no way I could sneak up to him.
Do you know the stealth skill you had at that point?
Great point! I talked about reducing noise in the first location, but omitted in the second... I will find out

Thanks, I'm not perfectly sure what lvl my Henry was but it was the first or second tourney, I roleplayed a 'good' Henry without any thievery and wasn't at any bandit camp or to Pribyslavitz at the time, so Stealth must've been quite low.
I do remember that I couldn't defeat Peter with the Shard I had (cause you need hundreds of hits and can't be hit once) so, after a dozen tries I gave it up and rode him down.
So at this point stealth was 7. For this playthrough I have not done much roleplaying so my Henry would be similar to the average viewer for a regular playthrough. My combat skills are greater than 10 on average, and other skills less than 10 on avg (lockpick 6, pickpocket 5). Thanks for this feedback. I will try to make levels and gear clearer in future vids as it can really impact if viewers can follow and copy what I do in the vid, or not.

Thanks, my Stealth lvl was probably around 2-3, maybe even just 1, next run I'll check if that was the only problem.
Kills made by mutt dont count. Ive played a whole game, doing all the bounty quests, using mutt and my bare hands, all to get the merciful achievement
Thanks for sharing 🙂. If you don't mind me asking, how did the fight with Peter go? Did you weaken him first and Mutt finished him off, or?
@@turismo_gaming exactly so. Just corner him and/or jab him repeatedly. Try not to let stamina deplete below half or his poison likely will set. Once you knock him out, remove his armor. Then, if you wait, he'll eventually recover and you can sic mutt on him at that point and mutt will one shot him

I'm on v1.9.3 on PS with all DLCs. I thought later versions were modding and language support for PC only, let me know if I'm mistaken.

@@RossTheLoss Thanks that's interesting, there is another thread about Peter being alerted when sneaking at the ambush point. There I said my stealth was 7 at the time. In the video I also show to remove armour. I captured this gameplay on my PS5 a couple days before publishing (v1.9.3)
@@turismo_gaming Well i had no armor on only silent shoes and my stealth is level 18.
I'm unsure tbh.. I did the steps in the vid multiple times to check it was repeatable, while capturing the gameplay. If you want to share your platform and version no I would be happy to do some digging to try and understand more 🙂
