8:50 Lullaby potion has the effect of potentially instantly Ko a opponent when applied to weapons. Personally I found it better to use stinger and stab enemies in rhe face while using Lullaby or bane. So using a mace with head cracker perk to do instant Ko is fine as well.
This game is amazing once you understand the combat mechanics...I have been playing this game 4 days and I have not even s scratch the surface yet...but I love it it amazing game.... Thank you warhorse studio.
I like this games combat system until I have to fight more than one enemy at a time. Easily the biggest draw back of this whole game was the surprisingly unfun multi enemy combat system.
Counter Mace chop to the head was usually an effective 1 hit kill. Sword too depending on their choice of armor. I also went for 2hand weapons over shields for better visibility also refused to wear visored helms for the same reason. Hard to counter a strike when both left sides (high low) are blind sides.
I was overcumbered and did the vipers nest for fun, 7 men at once vs slowpoke me, just backpeddling and perfect block counters, I didn't even level much at that point. The combat gets frustratingly easy once you learn a couple of tricks
Thanks man! I followed a really nice detailed guide through the game and did a toooon of cheesing. I honestly forgot about Bernard. So master striking and all that never came to my mind. I’m ready to get my sword play right now!
The scene that drops you in the middle of 4 people really told me that there was a correct way to play this game and a wrong way. Apparently a horse archer would casually let 4 infantry approach him without mounting up…still, the game has no AI counter to a horse archer. Those heavy infantrymen will trot all day in the open field trying to catch you on your horse with your bow…
The first things you must understand when playing this game are the combat mechanics (this is not hack and slash type of game). The second is always take advantage of anything that can make you survive (environment, horse, dog, potions, poison, perks, plate armour, weapons choice) The third is a lot of patience to level up your character, remember... the stronger your character the easier to get through all the difficulty in your journey.
I use my bow on horse back, i run away a bit and let them chase me, fire the bow, retreat fire, retreat fire, retreat fire. Works very well on open ground or lightly brushed areas, so long as you dont run too far or they will loose interest. Obviously in a tightly packed forest this doesn't work so well as its more awkward to navigate on horse back.
6:30 in that mission I made deal with them, that they will watch me and not fight me and all I had to do was get on my horse ride away and it didn't even make me engage in a fight, anyways very nice video!
There is a tactical advantage to wearing light armor. Besides dodging, it also lets you run faster and farther than men in full plate, who will quickly run out of stamina in a chase. Often my strategy if I'm caught without a horse but I'm wearing armor is to run away from them, get some distance, even let them give up the chase, and then turn back and take them one by one.
I would add, if you know you are about to get in to a fight with a lot of enemies you should drink a Lazarus potion BEFOREHAND so that if you mess up you are always healing it also makes fights feel trivial when you drink an Aqua Vitalis potion as well. Also I hope in KCD 2 they make fighting multiple enemies more engaging because it starts to feel like COD zombies with all the training you have to do.
just coming accross this, I'd like to suggest that theres a mod you can get from nexus that eliminates Master Strikes from the game. Both yours and enemies. It also smooths out the blocking that enemies are prone to do seemingly infinitely. Games a bit harder, but you wont die from swinging your weapon.
Thx for the Vid =) Your always so informative im glad i found you. if its ok i would ask to make a video about guards and their behavior because i wanted to max my speach skill by talking to the guard but they dont bother me as often as they did before =(
You can boost Speech from the guards by intentionally getting caught pickpocketing someone or picking a lock. Surrender, then pass the speech check for xp. Drink bard potion to be safe before doing it.
6:50 Are you sure? Because I tried it with Bernard and when compared with heavy armour, light or no armour made strikes significantly faster, making combos much easier. At least it felt like it
I am ignorant of the various "layers" of clothing and armor that make up an entire "set." I have snooped around for insight, but haven't found much to help. Does anyone know of a good discussion or video on this? Right know I just hover over items and see what slot it lights up and make sure I put a better piece on as I gather them.
Thanks for the video. I love this game, but I've yet to finish it because I get tired of cheesing fights with multiple enemies. These tips are all largely immersive. I'll give them a try.
What really sucks is when you runaway and the game glitches out and the hud swords don't disappear. Then it becomes an Easter egg hunt finding the aggroed cuman inside the dense woods where u triggered them. Btw you can't save, sleep, open chests until those hud swords vanish.
How come the enemy never block or parry your attack especially at the end fight? I tried this too but as soon as I Master Strike first enemy the other run around me and combo me even before I regain control after that first Master Strike. Weird...
just started playin the game a couple days ago in prep for 2 coming out and I enjoy the combat but it feels like its almost never correct to attack but instead just block/master strike. I have tried doing combos and such but the enemies just parry or master strike back and hit you so it just seems wrong to ever engage. Is this something that changes or am i missing something major? If this is the case that seems very unfortunate. For example, I ended up going back to skalitz at level 6 and there were some big boys in full gear and i tried fighting them straight up 3 times and they just parried me to death but then I went at it and never attacked and they died fairly easy. and the same with the first time I ran into the bandits on the Ginger quest. Fight and die, block and win.
You are not missing anything. Combat in this game is ridiculous. Targets randomly switch, lock, re-lock, then you randomly teleport over some 10 meter height bush and breka legs. You can barely play the game during combat. The only way to play is like you wrote, is by cheesing. So sit back and keep blocking. Running into clinch is also nice.
I never got the hang of fighting multiple enemies at once. I never know where to _look._ The reticle in the middle shows the time window for a perfect block - and the tutorials teach me to watch it closely - but keeping an eye on *that* all the time gives me no attention left to follow the _movement_ of the enemies and what swings they are preparing.
Damn, I've never done any of this. I should try it. I've just been rawdogging the whole camp in a full suit of armor. Sometimes it gets me killed, and repairs have been costly.
guide: i still can solo privaslavit but i have to change the way i play the game. for those who haven't played the game in years, nah the enemy definitely got stronger and i love it. the game changed. back then i can easily rush in and solo privaslavit camp by myself i think the game patched, enemy are now capable of easily breaking ur combo and counter you. sword or longsword with high stab are important against all enemy type. mace are great at endgame. shield in this game is a great nerf so don't carry one. it's a pity i love shieldsss most repostle/counter without a shield are pain/deadly, with a shield they give you alot of lame repostle that does no dmg. so guys to fight multipkle enemy if you can't use bow for some reason to thin their numbers. you really must create a small distance force them to attack then you repostle/counter them and follow up by a hammer bonk/high stab to the face. take them out 1by1
Peacock-Farrell is awful, I feel like the next big purchase should be a top tier keeper who can play sweeper and work as an option for the team to keep possession. PF is always a worry. when he receives the ball I am always worried and on Saturday that first goal was an example of why he doesn't give me confidence. Also the second goal and the Wrexham goal shows that he isn't dominant enough in his own area. The next buy in should be a goalie. perhaps we hit up Butland for a return
To all those who want the tutorial they're ACTUALLY looking for: Use shift to unlock from a target so you can do a 180° and parry the enemy behind you, dogs are OP because you cant overhead attack them for some reason
Just toggle between enemies during combat, use a shield and a shortsword, and make sure to master strike. So when you perfectly block, you want to immediately carry a stab attack. Keep doing that, they'll get low and eventually one of them will die and sooner or later, all of them will die. That's what i do, and it sure as hell helped me.
i am very bad at hitting enemies from horseback, so i just ride the enemies over. even with bad horse (sorry pebbles) the enemies often dont survive getting hit by horse twice. I was able to wipe out whole prebyslavitz (or even rattay) this way killing every enemy by just taunting them and ride back and forth. Horses are just OP
I have spent 2k on armor. That didn't help. 21hrs in and mobs take me out in 4 whacks. No time to even get off a combo. Gotta practice. Think I'll be able to take mobs on once I get this mechanic u discussed down. Great vid.
IMHO trying to do combos against mobs is a bad idea. Just because you're comboing one guy doesn't mean his buddy can't whack you from behind at the same time. Try to get perfect blocks when you can, otherwise just hit and move never stop moving. There's a lot of good advice in this thread. But the best advice I can give is use any advantage you have and don't be afraid to run. This game can be punishing and there's no shame in making it easier on yourself instead of getting frustrated and quitting.
Using combos against an opponent while fighting an entire group will not work, because they'll surround Henry and take turns hitting him. They'll most likely interrupt you before you land your 2nd hit, that is if the one you're facing doesn't perfect block or counter. Master strikes+follow up is the only way.
combos are pretty useless at high level, enemy will perfect block most of your hit (even feint), the combat system is pretty bad because of this, you just end up doing a masterstrikes battle and it takes a lot of time
yeah combat is janky and then rain during normal less cloudy days but rain then there barely clouds do happen but in real life it was very rare rather but in kingdom come is too frequent and then the clouds look bad as if they not hired good artist or the engine limits either way i think this game is more alive then elder scroll game so lets see how good the sequel gonna be

Easy if you’re not good at combat go spend one two hours with captain Bernard OR just ride to skalitz there is usually a party of talmberg soldiers fighting bandits just look their armor and you’ll make around 15k best to invest in a better sadle though
They need to get rid of the one on one combat for Kingdom Come Two. It's not a good implementation especially when you're expected to fight multiple NPC's at the same time. Say what you want about "getting good or having skill". That's a bullshit argument. There's no fighting multiple targets simultaneously when you're forced to lock onto your target and the NPCs are constantly running behind you to get a cheap shot.
I think thats the whole point. In real life absolutely nobody can fight multiple cutthroats by yourself. KCD is aiming for a little bit of realism after all. Thats the whole campaign behind the game. So im sure even in KCD 2 they will also make it just as tough. Rather than "git gud" the dev defo want to make sure players have to think twice about such situation.
@@prophetmuhammad3890 In real life absolutely many people exist who can fight multiple cutthroats by themselves. You'd be the cuthroat and mma pro would mop the floor with you and your mates.
combat in this game is ridiculous. you can mop the floor against fully armed cumans yet if there's a bush behind you and you fight vs 3 farmers, they will insta kill you xD 99% of this game plays itself, no skill involved. And half of the features are half broken
Fast traveling, get ambushed, 3 cumans, 2 guys one with a shield, regular with a longsword, another one with a bow and a dog. I'm at the point of believing it's just completely impossible to deal with that. Can't run because the dog will catch up and pretty much take away all of your stamina, can't get on a horse because they run too fast or bowmen shoots you. You literally can't do anything about it other than just reload a save and go somewhere else
The problems with being outnumbered in KCD isnt even the same problem uou have with fors in other games. The problem is, as soon as you are dealing with more than 2 enemies they suddenly gain the ability to ohase through you, your horse, uour dog, and eachother. This means you can be standing in an alleyway and still get flanked. And if you are running, they instantly teleport b ehind you and tackle you. Same thing haooens on horsback, they suddenly gain the ability to teleport 40 meters. If only there was a mod that enforced a collision in a cerrain radius around entities engaged in combat. By the way this video is mostly useless, if bandits are camping you can run around the camp with stinger and stab them all to death before they can even stand up. Getting rid of archers first makes jo sense, as when they are behind an enemy they will actually shoot them. Nothing in this video helps with failing to avoid an ambush while traveling, you will get knocked off your horse in the dark and killed before you can stand up, get your torch up, or do much of anything at all. I love this game but God do I hope they fix large encounters in the sequel
Finally someone with rational mind. You right about everything. I love teleportation in this game too, it happens way too often lol. A bush behind you? Poof teleported above it and broken your legs xD Farmers with stick come close to you? No problem, their sticks now do 100 times damage because the immortal dog is removing your stamina instantly xd So many broken things in this game, it is ridiculous 90% of the time.
It's easy. Get the best armor in the game and the best sword right along with maxing out your sword skills and defense skills along with a few others. After that just keep moving and backing up making sure that no one gets behind you which isn't hard. I have zero problem taking out multiple people in a single fight.

"Mercy kills" are the most violent things this game has
Epic dude! Thank you sooo much ❤
Thanks for watching,Jojo.👍
I miss 1 arrow and the whole population of india with chainmail and helmets is jumping me 😭
The first things you must understand when playing this game are the combat mechanics (this is not hack and slash type of game).
The second is always take advantage of anything that can make you survive (environment, horse, dog, potions, poison, perks, plate armour, weapons choice)
The third is a lot of patience to level up your character, remember... the stronger your character the easier to get through all the difficulty in your journey.
Hack and slash? This is see a green button click game.
Smart. Idk why i didnt think of that.😅
me with 100 noise trying to sneak into bandit camps, "mmm yes this is totally unfair how can they hear me"
Use environment and buildings, if you stand in a corner you can have them in your view and just masterstrike.
I am amazed how merciful those mercy kills are. In one of them henry crushes enemy skull with his kick and hits to death with mace in other.
6:30 in that mission I made deal with them, that they will watch me and not fight me and all I had to do was get on my horse ride away and it didn't even make me engage in a fight, anyways very nice video!
Thanks for watching,BD. I tried doing that and the thug assigned to keep an eye on Henry followed him on foot.😂
God i love this game. Just started "properly" playing it.
Thx for the Vid =)
Your always so informative im glad i found you.
if its ok i would ask to make a video about guards and their behavior because i wanted to max my speach skill by talking to the guard but they dont bother me as often as they did before =(
You can boost Speech from the guards by intentionally getting caught pickpocketing someone or picking a lock. Surrender, then pass the speech check for xp. Drink bard potion to be safe before doing it.
@@ThatOtherGamer ok, can i do that for ever? And is my rep easily gained back by being nice to traders and gamblers?
I like when I run across cumans fighting bandits, I sit back and pop off the winning side with my bow and then collect the rewards afterwards.
With your arrows? You manage to get in more than 1 arrow? xDD
Nice video!
Thanks for watching,Verbal.👍
6:50 Are you sure? Because I tried it with Bernard and when compared with heavy armour, light or no armour made strikes significantly faster, making combos much easier. At least it felt like it
I am ignorant of the various "layers" of clothing and armor that make up an entire "set." I have snooped around for insight, but haven't found much to help. Does anyone know of a good discussion or video on this? Right know I just hover over items and see what slot it lights up and make sure I put a better piece on as I gather them.
I love this Game
😎👍
I’ve been stubbornly sticking to my long sword but truth is against mobs, a shield and some potions is needed.
1. Switch target. 2. Switch target. 3. Die. 4. Wait for load screen again. 5. Rage. 6. Repeat.
😂😂
Great content 👌
Hi,Sergio. Thanks for watching!👍
this is so helpful thanks so much
Glad it helped,Vince.👍
I never got the hang of fighting multiple enemies at once. I never know where to _look._ The reticle in the middle shows the time window for a perfect block - and the tutorials teach me to watch it closely - but keeping an eye on *that* all the time gives me no attention left to follow the _movement_ of the enemies and what swings they are preparing.
One day Henry will learn magic. Then they'll all pay for killing his parents
He will and its gonna be called blackpowder/gunpowder in KCD 2
Bandits and cuemans fighting henry walks up
Get him
Get a horse, a bow, and tons of arrows
Works wonders for overworld enemies
Damn I didn’t realize stealth was so viable. Now I wanna run a ninja Henry
Another helpful video!
Thank you, kind sir!
😎👍
I just turn into a tree sentinel and pray I don’t get pulled off my horse
Very helpful and thorough, thanks a bunch!!
Thanks for watching,nyestember.👍
Damn, I've never done any of this. I should try it. I've just been rawdogging the whole camp in a full suit of armor. Sometimes it gets me killed, and repairs have been costly.
guide: i still can solo privaslavit but i have to change the way i play the game.
for those who haven't played the game in years, nah the enemy definitely got stronger and i love it.
the game changed. back then i can easily rush in and solo privaslavit camp by myself
i think the game patched, enemy are now capable of easily breaking ur combo and counter you.
sword or longsword with high stab are important against all enemy type.
mace are great at endgame.
shield in this game is a great nerf so don't carry one. it's a pity i love shieldsss
most repostle/counter without a shield are pain/deadly, with a shield they give you alot of lame repostle that does no dmg.
so guys
to fight multipkle enemy if you can't use bow for some reason to thin their numbers. you really must create a small distance force them to attack then you repostle/counter them and follow up by a hammer bonk/high stab to the face.
take them out 1by1
If only the lock on was optional.
I started playing KCD for a Knight experience, but it’s stealth archer all over again 😢
I use the bailiff mace and that "legendary sword" queen something-something
Peacock-Farrell is awful, I feel like the next big purchase should be a top tier keeper who can play sweeper and work as an option for the team to keep possession. PF is always a worry. when he receives the ball I am always worried and on Saturday that first goal was an example of why he doesn't give me confidence. Also the second goal and the Wrexham goal shows that he isn't dominant enough in his own area. The next buy in should be a goalie. perhaps we hit up Butland for a return
i’m new to this game and just got plate armor and now everybody runs from me, even cumans….
good thing the geneva convention isn’t cannon yet 😏
The fact you need to blurr kill, in a videogame for yt rules is OUT OF THIS WORLD😂
To all those who want the tutorial they're ACTUALLY looking for:
Use shift to unlock from a target so you can do a 180° and parry the enemy behind you, dogs are OP because you cant overhead attack them for some reason
Master strikes+follow up is the only way.
combos are pretty useless at high level, enemy will perfect block most of your hit (even feint), the combat system is pretty bad because of this, you just end up doing a masterstrikes battle and it takes a lot of time
Probably lil late but TRAIN TRAIN TRAIN combat. Get your defense, warlord and weopon stats up and it'll be much easier
Good advice, that's what I finally did. Trained in sword and mace, didn't even mess with combos. Became indestructible.
My tactic : Use a bow and stand on top of a big rock
yeah combat is janky and then rain during normal less cloudy days
but rain then there barely clouds do happen but in real life it was very rare rather but in kingdom come is too frequent and then the clouds look bad as if they not hired good artist or the engine limits
either way i think this game is more alive then elder scroll game so lets see how good the sequel gonna be
SUBSCRIBE! Thanks to you I managed to beat this awesome game as a noob. Cant wait for kcd 2!
One word, train!
I believe even sir arthur dayn will find it harder
Answear at 10:07
Thanks.
What games economy? U visit ur old village after kuman killed all then u kill them-->take loot-->leave village for a moment-->go in again--> kumans respawn :) PROFIT
I just don't understand how to switch targets effectively. It's making me want to quit the game.
Yeah, finally downloaded a mod that nerfed their blocking and parrying. Really helped a lot became the combat system in this game sucks.
Instead of poison use poison drinking water
I'm in my first playtrough on the Nintendo Switch. Earlygame i got Mut, the buchersdog, he realy helped out esecialy when my sword mastery and strenght was low and he could attack enemies.
I felt like it was cheating using the dog lol
Easy if you’re not good at combat go spend one two hours with captain Bernard OR just ride to skalitz there is usually a party of talmberg soldiers fighting bandits just look their armor and you’ll make around 15k best to invest in a better sadle though
*Standard mode*
For camps attacking at night is simple because they are all unarmed. The downside is that you can't loot those gears directly off their body...
Why are you censoring the word "KILL"?
Are you scared to trigger someone?
combat in this game is ridiculous. you can mop the floor against fully armed cumans yet if there's a bush behind you and you fight vs 3 farmers, they will insta kill you xD 99% of this game plays itself, no skill involved. And half of the features are half broken
Its way to unfair
Fast traveling, get ambushed, 3 cumans, 2 guys one with a shield, regular with a longsword, another one with a bow and a dog. I'm at the point of believing it's just completely impossible to deal with that. Can't run because the dog will catch up and pretty much take away all of your stamina, can't get on a horse because they run too fast or bowmen shoots you. You literally can't do anything about it other than just reload a save and go somewhere else
@@Just_a_Piano_ Yup. Getting infinite "savior schnaps" is the most important thing in this half broken game.
Combat system in this game is ass
It's easy. Get the best armor in the game and the best sword right along with maxing out your sword skills and defense skills along with a few others. After that just keep moving and backing up making sure that no one gets behind you which isn't hard. I have zero problem taking out multiple people in a single fight.
No one has problems taking out multiple people ijn a single fight, guy. You are special, but in a very different way that you think xD
