Hey. That's strange isn't it. Where is Black Peter's body? I'm assuming you didn't loot or kill any of the competitors the night before the tourney. Peter is the final round opponent the first time you do the tourney so I get how it would cancel if he died, but I don't understand how he died.

@@turismo_gaming No, I just signed up the morning of the tournament, didn't interact with any of the competitors at all. Round 1 I beat the first opponent, started Round 2 and the tournament abruptly ends with quest having failed. And Black Peter lying dead where he was standing and spectating. The guards all muttering and milling around saying where the heck did the cutthroat go and swearing vengeance on the killer. I never took the quest from the guy in Samopesh either, just decided on a whim the morning of the tournament that I should participate because I was pretty well leveled by that point. Ah well, I started a new game now anyways, I don't think it was caused by either of the two mods I was using (Spearman's Delight and Perkaholic), at least I don't see how it would be possible. I'll try it again in the new playthrough.

Thanks for sharing all the details! What a crazy bug. I wonder what would happen if you did the tourney again later, or picked up the Blacksmith quest and then did the tourney. If Peter is dead how would that work?! Have fun playing and I hope you don't run into anything crazy like this again. I play the PS4 version with DLCs on PS5 and haven't had something like this happen.

No, I don't believe so. Pretty sure I've heard all his dialogue. The ambush and poison on the sword indicate what happened to the blacksmith's son.

Hey it sounds like you are getting a good feel for the mechanics like master strike. If you feel like you need a bit more practice you could train more with Bernard, but if you want to stick to the tourney, here's a few ideas. First try and avoid depleting your stamina, while wearing armour your stamina can absorb some damage. If it's low, just move away from the opponent to give it some time to replenish. With master strikes keep in mind they can also master strike you (I think that's the unblockable you are referring to). If you feel overwhelmed or you are missing your timing use clinches to stop their momentum, move them into the corners and then clinch, get a hit in (ideally over head strikes), clinch, hit, repeat. Getting the Clinch Master perk will help here.

@@vajkperduk I believe their stamina works like the player. So armoured enemies like those in the tourney should similarly absorb some damage, but to be honest I hadn't thought of that question before so I'm not 100% on that.

@@scottperkins7826 Similar experience, it just didn't click for me at the time. I first played it during Covid lockdown and then I got into once I got my PS5 and I was looking for cheap/discounted but quality RPGs. This was before the sequel was announced. Isn't it great 😃

Hi sorry for the delay in responding to your comment. I'm not sure why Peshek won't offer the quest. Did you speak with him right after waking up in Rattay after the prologue?

@turismo_gaming I needed to go talk to Sir Radzig about his sword first but the game of course didn't tell me that. I have almost quit this game multiple times now. 😂Thanks though.

Now he still won't give me the quest he just wants to talk about the tournament wtf???

@Texaspokem11 Hey you said you went to speak with Radzig. So have you completed the quest Awakening now? Also have you already spoken to Theresa? I think you may need to speak to her before Peshek.

@turismo_gaming Yes it says awakening is done and I have spoken with Theresa. It says to go to him to start the quest The good thief but when I go to talk to him now he only wants to talk about betting on the tourney. Did you do this quest after the tournament? Maybe that's it???

Sorry for the late reply. I think killing and looting Black Peter is reward enough for this quest 😁. Generally I'd say there are better ways to make money (selling enemy gear, hunting, alchemy..) than quests. I've usually done them for the stories and experience.

I like to steal the NPC gear and wear it in dialogue with them. Bit of a shame they don't respond any differently but I still find it funny 😁

I agree, I generally use it to disrupt enemies. If I'm doing the tourney and start missing master strikes, I will back the opponent into a corner and do clinches. It's even better once you have the two perks I covered (Clinch Master and Head Cracker - although HC doesn't work in the tourney)

Interesting to hear that perspective thanks. Does he sound young and naive in German? I only speak English so I had never considered a different language. After 100+ hrs I couldn't imagine Henry sounding any different, but that's also partly due to having watched interviews with Tom McKay (Henry's voice and character model).

@@turismo_gaming but Henry is like the 17 year old version of Tom McKay. I think it fits better... 🙈 But once you are used to something else, it's always weird. Like when they change voice actors between seasons of a show.

@@AlphariusOmegon618 I removed armour to reduce noise and crouched when approaching Peter. I didn't find any issue with the other tourney competitors. However, there is a patrolling guard carrying a torch so best to wait until he leaves the area.

Thanks! Did you knock him out or fight him? If it's not in his inventory, the only other option I can think of is that it must be on the ground somewhere near his body.

On my first playthrough I was ambushed, poisoned and dead before I had realised what happened 😂 so you did better than me

To unlock the Arena Master achievement you need to win the tournament 5 times.

Thanks for mentioning this! I usually tried to avoid skills such as vortex or hypno due to the randomness it could introduce, potentially making my guides harder to follow.

I re-did the Rattay fight club activity "Do Me A Favour - Punch Me!" a stack of times, which helped me level several combat skills, but that's just one option 🙂

I don't feel genuinely surprised that often by games these days, but that was one of those moments. Real WTF and memorable.

I use clinches to interrupt the flow, particularly in tournament fights (headcracker doesn't work in the tourney though). KCD is a real standout for me in terms of characters, voice acting, cutscenes. Looking forward to KCD2 🙂

Hi are you trying to activate the altar? Standing In front of the altar, grab and spin it. I play on PS, which from memory you grab with R2. Once it activates it should unlock an achievement.

Thank you, I really like making this type of guide. While there are still heaps of quests I haven't covered in KCD, I expect I'll be making lots of this type of guide for KCD2 🙂

On the party select screen you can see Joker has 6 movement, which he starts with. I believe the red/blue platforms we toggle (I refer to them as lifts) are resetting the movement range, similar to after using a dash when climbing a ladder.

There are skills that give additional movement: Phantom Step (1 extra space after a charge) and God-like Speed (1 extra space) but I don't believe I had either of these for this quest.

Thanks for the question. I've had a look but I'm unsure. I didn't see any mention of difficulty settings impacting this. Also, I looked at a couple written guides and the images show the crate moving 4 spaces. I also don't think it's skills related.

Nice music, subtle but interesting story and themes (reading Bianca's journal was a highlight). Mix of biomes that shake up the gameplay, and doesn't overstay it's welcome. Awesome game 🙂
