In 2022 it is not necessary to make the arc shape editable - Cavalry has Reverse Path Behavior now, which you can plug into deformers slot. If morphing is still wrong, don't worry - the modifier has 3 modes, just switch between them and see which one works for you.

Wouldn't subdividing bottom side of pentagon make morph more natural? If attribution of points is more or less proportional, would it make the inside of second shape using points from subdivided bottom side?
How to morph svg shapes imported from illustrator? When you left click on destination shape it does give svg in add destination shape option but it’s not working then

How can we animate this?
Just saw this software and was wondering if I can upload photos of mine and do face morphing? Or can you only edit their presets?

That may change things but the Morph resamples the paths behind the scenes for you so the original subdivisions are not necessarily super important.

It should be the same. Import 2 SVGs, use one as the Target and connect the Morph to the other.
