This is just awesome !! Time to leave After Effect. I hope this also include mathematical equation animation tool.
Great stuff
Just went through the Getting Started playlist... This app is great. Will definitely use it for digital signage design. Will probably try and implement some sort of lottie widget in my signage CMS too (xibo).
Is it possible to stagger the character spacing? So the spacing between characters is the same despite it's scale?
You could take a look at the Accumulator docs.cavalry.scenegroup.co/nodes/utilities/accumulator/ or Apply Layout docs.cavalry.scenegroup.co/nodes/behaviours/apply-layout/
How to morph svg shapes imported from illustrator? When you left click on destination shape it does give svg in add destination shape option but it’s not working then
It should be the same. Import 2 SVGs, use one as the Target and connect the Morph to the other.
I would gladly use your software if it could be purchased on a perpetual license basis. The subscription is my reason for leaving After Effects and moving to other software that suffers from the same disease makes little sense, because investing time in something that does not belong to you is a mistake that many have already made. I would appreciate it if you would consider a license option that would allow you to buy the software at full price with the ability to upgrade for money.
How to install After Effects plugins in Cavalry?
Hi, thanks for the video. Is there a way to tell duplicator to create the first offset closest to the original shape and then move further outwards with each step?
3:12 The Stagger Behaviour has a ‘Graph’ attribute. It’s linear by default but if you apply a curve you should get the result you’re after. docs.cavalry.scenegroup.co/user-interface/widgets/graph-attribute/
Do you have a video about the interface for new users?
Most customers move away from AE and Adobe because of the subscription, so to introduce and alternative with subscription only seems suicidal long term. Look at affinity and see how they have grown with a paid version
Advanced option when you right click on the noise is gone
Ah yes, that's since been promoted to the Attribute Editor UI and is called 'Use Position Context'.
Cavalry is amazing but not enough tutorials out here, pleeaase make more beginner friendly tutorials, Thanks
Thats so sick, thanks cavalry team
Awesome!
Need help! Can't find the sub-mesh under the Point source of the Points to Path. Edit: Found it. Sorry. Excellent tutorial!
Hi - I'm noticing I can't make the connection between the pathfinder rotation in the value tab, and my shape's rotation. Any ideas why this might be the case?
I hope you guys add some interpolation effects that are equatable to posterize time from after effects in future. Or if there is anyone expert here please tell me how can I give 12fps or 8 fps look to my animation. (I won't like to change fps in comp settings, only aiming for specific layers)
is the google sheet available?
Sorry no but similar info is available if you search for it. e.g. public.opendatasoft.com/explore/dataset/geonames-all-cities-with-a-population-1000/table/?disjunctive.cou_name_en&sort=name
I can't see the attributes names in Attribute Editor, how can I show it?
Which attributes? It's possible you have 'Shape > Create Editable Primitives' checked which would mean you'll create editable shapes rather than primitives (rectangle, ellipse etc) that have attributes like Radius, Size, Corner Radius etc.
@@cavalryapp Sorry, I can't explain it well on my first comment, so basically I can't see the names in Attributes Editor like Position, Rotation, Scale, etc. because it seems like I'm having a window problem. I think the size of my interface are bigger then what's in the video here. I think that's the problems because I also tried dragging the edges of panel windows in my interface but still I can't see Attribute Editor names rather than '3 dots'.
@@kwipSTATIC It sounds like you do not have enough resolution on your display. If you close down the JavaScript Editor you may be able to eek a bit more width out of the Attribute Editor. You can save your own workspace docs.cavalry.scenegroup.co/user-interface/menus/window-menu/general/workspaces/
I remember doing this in After Effects back in the day and it was so much harder. Really cool to see an easier option surrounded by an even better ecosystem for these kinds of graphics
Please make more educational videos! I like Cavalry but it's so hard to find good how-to videos on it.
Chalk or brush style stroke? Haven’t find any examples out there
Making the song export premium is evil
Is this video under the creative commons license? I'd like to dub it in another language
As in, you'd like to download it, re-dub it and then upload that version to your own channel?
@@cavalryapp I was thinking of doing something like that but for my linkedin channel. However I ended up making a tutorial very similar to this but at the same time I shared the source as well so if anyone was interested on seeing a more in depth version they could refer to this tutorial. I hope thats okay? I don't want to steal content so If you think this falls under that I can stop. My tutorial is basically me explaining this process but on linkedin. I haven't downloaded this footage I've made my own. Hope thats not a violation of Cavalry's policies. This is a cool app and I don't want to do anything that undermines your work.
@@ussamabinnaveed - that's sound fine. Thanks for making the effort 👍
Awesome, I discovered Calvary a few days ago and I'm enjoying it, it has really good features (already in the free version), thanks for the tutorial and for bringing us this amazing software
How can I do this with a line instead of the the squares?
Do you mean a horizontal line which moves vertically? You could use a Noise Deformer or create the line by creating a Linear Duplicator and then use that as the input to a 'Points to Path' (set to Sub-Mesh). Use the Sound Behaviour to drive the Duplicator's Shape Position Y.
how do you go about getting this beta because its not available on the website as yet!
Please check description (beta builds are Pro only).

Nice upgrades. CAVALRY = AFTER EFFECTS + many ADD ONS (plugin, script, etc), all BUILT INSIDE INTO ONE software. ADVANTAGE = no need to buy too many ADD ONS. Good for experienced AFTER EFFECTS users. But very painful for newbie, who has zero AE experience. But If you have >5 years experience on AE and C4D, it is easy to follow. Drawback of Calvary = INCOMPLETE documentation + limited video tutorials.
Custom falloffs are 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
So good! I'm excited!
please, this is just incredible.
Amazing new features! Loving your solution for cascading variable font animations most 😍
HOOOOTTTTTTT! Let's Go!
OMG! Important stuffs are all here! 😍😍
excellent stuff. One question that i can't seem to find is that when using multiple monitors, with panels detached, after a few minutes, whatever tool you are trying to use in the viewport becomes a move hand tool. is this a bug or am i missing a setting?
This sounds like a bug. If you could give us more details on either Discord or via support@ we can dig in.
so many great new features!!
U need a better manual or a new fundamentals of cavalry video playlist for starters to understand how the program works (fields, connections etc)
Excellent updates. The shape falloff is gonna get used A LOT.
These are really nice upgrades, thanks!
It would be awesome if you could record your keyboard input in these tuts! Just to pick up on little tricks here and there, like keeping the scale of something uniform using a modifier key (?)
That's the Alt (or Option) key I'm holding, sorry about that. I'll turn them on in the future.
Awesome!
Range Falloff wohooo!!!
Powerful additions, thank you! 🎉
Oof! This is all looking great!
yesssss everything looks amazing!
Amazing new features!!! 🤩🤩🤩
Blend Shape is not working.
something is definitely not correct. I am using the same 230 x 230 and 34 x 42 and all others for the shapes and they are not coming out the same proportions as in the demo
WOW
