I just found this today because someone looked me up and told me about the video. My wife and I had so much fun watching this and reliving this memory. The folks that interview us from World News Tonight told us that we would get a copy of the full interview and the footage that got aired but we never got either so this has been fun for us to see it finally 22 years later. I only wish I could get a copy of the footage that aired on TV so I could give it to my kids, though it was only about 8 seconds of video from this whole interview. We were so nervous having them in our house so I was was a bit quiet and stuffy in the interview. The reason they showed us going into the house instead of following us in was because my wife wanted to clean up a bit before they came in. :)

@Ayustria Salma Being single for the past year from a 6 year relationship, women are head melters! What has changed? Just a few things, Ive more money, I'm not having to justify the things I do that makes me happy. I'm not getting emotionally blackmailed, my phone is not ringing every hour wondering what I'm doing. I swear, TH-cam is the closest we can get to having a time machine. Obviously video game systems are way more advanced now compared to what we had 20 years ago. But I love the reactions to the simpler things in this video that we seemed to have overlooked now. Like being amazed that you can play DVDs on a game console at the time. I loved how the wife noticed you can see way far into the distance. That put a smile on my face, because that is something you would notice when all you know about games is as late as the N64 and PS1. And nothing beats hearing that PS2 startup screen for the first time. It was like hearing the future in a way. At that time, you really felt like you had a new game console. Nowadays you don't get that to that level of excitement. I do own a PS5 and I enjoy it a lot, I just find it's not that different from the PS4, only difference I've really noticed is the vibration on the controller, which I think is really cool when you are playing a part in a game where it's really windy. But man do I love watching these videos from a simpler time before the social media and smart phones took over everything.

Nope, they don’t. Kids today are growing up with access to all of this advanced technology and therefore don’t appreciate it and take it for granted because they don’t know of a world without it. I do remember a world before all of this, and so we absolutely do appreciate these videos and moments much more than kids today. I wish I had taken more photos and videos back then but you had to have a camcorder and digital camera everywhere with you, it was just a hassle. Nowadays it’s so much easier to capture anything you want.

@@4G63TxLmao, stfu.. I am so sick of the “kids these days will never understand” bull$hit that often gets spewed from the likes of you.
It happens every generation and with each and every decade. This mentality is elitism and is extremely toxic.
My grandpa as an example still looks at his photocopying machine he still has with absolute awe from the early 60’s on top of other things like a video recorder which he still harbors. He treats them like modern day tech.
We would often take the pi55 out of him, but despite the jest, he understands full well the disconnect between what his generation had and what my me (born in the 90’s) or my parents grew up with in the 70’s and 80’s would be vastly different in terms of experience. What he treasures doesn’t translate to what my parents would find compelling due to the generational gap.
It is part of the cycle.
People should really stop treating modern day kids in such a patronizing way. It really is cringeworthy seeing this holier than thou type attitude that permits through nostalgia and rose colored glasses.

God what I would give to go back to that time. Or even teach Gen Z to bring this back themselves. Not this crap of today. You can only progress so far. It caves in and you return to the Origin. Certain things were not meant to be tampered with in Societal values. They attempt today, but seeing the consequence. Let us return to Tradition. A boy is a boy and a girl is a girl. You have family. You work hard. Respect elders. Love your country. Do well in school. Be neighborly to one another. Do what is right. Be a good person.
