I had to send in my 360 three times and every time the UPS guy came back with my console he'd say, "I've got your gameboy!" I miss that guy. I hope he's well.

I remember bringing my first 360 that red ringed into our avionics shop. Under the magnifier I found the CPU solder was melting away. Tried to explain this to Microsoft when I sent it in. My second one that failed I had the the die desoldered and resoldered it, still works 13 years later.

It's kinda crazy how much footage they have from back in the day. I never was too much of an Xbox kid since my brother and dad had PS3 and PS2. As of the past few years you guys have turned me over and it's nice seeing the history of it all, specially seeing the infamous Red Ring.
It's lucky that Microsoft had the money and the will to keep the XBOX brand alive.

Really enjoyed this series so far and I have to say I really appreciate that this documentary also focuses on the bad things in the Xbox history and doesn’t try to sugarcoat things. Very refreshing to see, huge respect for Xbox for owning their mistakes and even being able to make fun of themselves.

It wasn't all vaporware. The development team had to eventually factor in all of the "not so morally correct ways" the application could end up being used.

I have to say I like that they managed to get Trenton on this documentary. It’s refreshing to hear the perspective of the CEO themselves of the competitor & the state of competition during the 360/PS3 era.

Got my 360 Elite back in 2009 for my birthday and some of my greatest memories are with that console. Not to mention all the amazing memories from Xbox live. Those were the days.

I remember playing mass effect on my brother's ps3 until i found out the first game could only be played only on xbox. Swapped over for my birthday just to play the entire ME trilogy and halo. The friends I've made since then were worth every penny.

So many days, weeks, months and years spent on that console. I met some of my best friends still to this day on that console. I will never forget it and am forever thankful that I was blessed with an Xbox 360

I’ve had my Xbox 360 for almost 10 years and had lots of fun. One time on 2018, I wanted to turn it on again after years. The red ring came on, I immediately knew that my Xbox was done. Grandpa gave me an OG Xbox for Christmas last year and it’s lots of fun.

I worked on avionics in the Navy and we kept our test equipment on 24/7/365 for the exact reason the Xbox 360 was failing: thermal fatigue. We had test equipment from the 1950s that still worked.
Still have my Xbox 360 bought it brand new back in the day never any issues still use her to this day.

I remember those days of playing minecraft on my 360, so many great memories.
My 2006 machine failed in late 2008. Sent it back. Still working today in 2022.
So many memories just flooding in. Greatest time in gaming was during the PS3/360 era.
Just a rush of all the nostalgia hitting you in the feels.

I got xbox 360 in 2016, I got Xbox One S on February 6th 2022 & I've never been this happy ever 😭💗!
I teared up when I got to the halo 3 part. That’s the last game I bought the collectors edition of. I’m looking at the helmet right now.

10 Years Ago Today, I unboxed my Xbox 360 (Christmas). Never knew how much of an impact it would have on me, so many friends, thousands of hours, so many memories. I’ll never let go.

As much problems as it had…. Its still to this day one of the most badass consoles to be born. My gaming hobby-ing went through the roof when I first got my xbox 360. So many great memories.

Nice to see the honesty and not sort of skip over this and throw it under the rug. So honest they even started selling posters LOL. Regardless... I went through 5xbox 360's. Owned 6 in total... Loved the system and didn't let the red rings ruin that. The xbox 360 was an incredible system.

From renting Halo 1 at blockbuster to watch my dad play on the original Xbox to us both enjoying Halo 3 on the 360 and even having posters up in our game room. Such fond and cherished memories that I’ll hold onto forever!
I met one of my best friends on Xbox 360 and we spent countless nights staying up and playing Call Of Duty. He lived about 3 hours away from me and I always wanted to go and meet him but never found the time. About 4 years ago two men broke into his house and shot him while he was asleep in his bed. I still regret not being able to go and meet him, but I know he's still here watching with me watching every game I play and I'll never forget the moments Xbox allowed us to make together. 😢 RIP Bailey

I may be too young to have played Halo 3 with the boys back in the golden years of the 360. But this console shaped my childhood. I played so much Plants Vs Zombies and Peggle on this system. Plus it was the ultimate plastic instrument system. I played Rock Band 3 for years on the 360 and still do play it. Thank you for all the fun memories of losing in Peggle because I missed one orange peg, or playing Rock Band 3 with my whole family, or the one Christmas Eve where I played through the entirety of Guitar Hero 3 in one sitting. Thank you for all that and I hope the years are bright for the Xbox

Fun fact, the core issue that resulted in the RRoD was behind the YLoD on the PS3: the die-substrate connection.

After all of this you still managed to improve the 360 with later versions, and it would end up being my childhood. By far the best console I've ever and will ever own.
Ahhhh, that gears of war moment of the video just hit me so hard.... I got chills all over my body and tears welling up in my eyes. I never got the chance to play it at launch, *cause I was 4* but knowing how much it influenced the industry just, ahhh, makes me cry.

Kinect was ahead of it’s time. I enjoyed it with my family and friends. Sheer innovation. The reception of many in the gaming comics the reason Xbox doesn’t have VR yet, integrating Kinect 2( or updated tech) with high fidelity VR would be great.!

I owned one too but it just didn't work well at all. It would constantly misinterpret my position and the time delay between your movements and the kinect recognizing those movements was too large to make it viable in gaming applications. I had assumed the Kinect was one of their other biggest failures but Ig not

Great video, however I'm slightly disappointed they didn't completely go in depth to how they fixed the console in the future to cause the red ring to happen less often.
What they did was create smaller and less power-hungry chips for the CPU, GPU and RAM.

I had experienced this problem with my xbox 360 but to be fair they repaired it and returned it back without any fuss or issue. The console was arguably one of the best ever.
This whole documentary was top notch and entertaining.
Except episode 6 where they literally sugar coat xbox one era and spend 20 minutes before mentioning Gamepass and $70 games. Which to me indicates why this series was even put out.

I recently picked up an oct 2005 manufactured 360 that still works. Warranty seal intact and everything. Amazing
RROD on my original 360. Mind you - had the YLOD on my original Phat PS3 too! Thankfully replacements were fine and both still running (used occasionally too!)
The Xbox 360 era was the best era for gaming, period. Even with the RROD.

Ive had mine for 12 years. Still works well. Had the red ring once and lost all my data which was annoying but i vaccumed all the dust inside and it was fine.

I remember when "Project Natal" was first shown off and my brother in law showed me, and it blew my mind!!!! Then there was this other demo with Peter Molyneux with this little boy, and whatever you did in the real world would translate into the demo, and the boy recognized the color and what was drawn. Turned out to be complete vaporware lol

It’s good to know that they fixed this by making the Jasper and falcon boards rather than the xenon and zephyr and the legendary opus boards but good to know that they actually did somthing about the red ring. Thank you Microsoft for all the good memories 👍
I just wanted to thank you for not giving up on us, and I will never give up on you, I’ve had the Xbox, the 360, 360 slim, one and I got the series x now and I can only say thank you for creating so many memories for me and my friends and for still continuing to deliver amazing memories, Xbox for life !!!!
