One of the sad things for Hank Pym is that this time in his life was when he was most successful... All a Skrull. and the real Hank Pym comes back after and can never live upto it and has to deal with the idea that a skrull lived his life better than he did.
There was a Marvel story at some point where some Skruls invaded earth as a sleeper cell, but they took the forms of cows as a perfect disguise. I guess the story goes on that they waited so long that they just got so used to being cows that they forgot they were Skruls to a point that they were actually slaughtered and the meat was sent out all over the world causing panic. Is that an actual story in itself, or just background to some other story? Because it is HILARIOUS.

Probably not the answer, but, for the same reason humans climb Mount Everest. "Because it's there." Galactus has to be the ultimate challenge for Skrull shapeshifting.
It'd be hard to say in all honesty. His magic is powerful but also limited in regards to inter galactic things. I'm uncertain he'd have a spell to deal with something as sophisticated as Skrull science. Their transformations are supposed to be neigh perfect and the memory transfers so convincing it's impossible for even telepaths to tell they aren't the real deal. Not sure Dr. Strange would even know where to begin. I'm not sure even magic has a 'detect skrull' spell.
Collin Shorette He can manipulate time and space... It's pretty difficult to convince me of that when the simple answer was, "their blood is green." One of the things about Strange is that even if he doesn't have a spell for something he can find or make one.
Chad-Solomon Dixon *Shrug* I suppose the simple answer is: It'd have made it so the story wouldn't exist. So it was excluded to allow a story. To be honest, Dr. Strange should be able to single handedly stop anything in the Marvel-verse from happening if he could just conjure up a spell. Sake of story telling.

Collin Shorette Actually it's quite different. With all comic book characters, there is a difference between feat ability and fighting ability. Hey Rob, Can you please do a video on heart of the monster hulk. And also a comparison between: world-breaker hulk, heart of the monster hulk, horseman of apocalypse hulk, and then hulk herald of galactus.
That's an interesting idea. I would like to see a break down of single characters through their ages... As a great example all the stages of the hulk. You have world-breaker, which is his highest potency. Their are a LOT of characters you could do that with. I know cable during several different runs has Omega level power, and then sometimes the writers obviously want to make him very human and frail like in Messiah war. Spider man has his fusion with the power cosmic... Gambit's power becomes so extreme he ends the world and time travels.. I think it's interesting that everyone has that pinnacle.. I loved Secret Invasion! I wish you did some stuff with the pantheons, i loved the issues about the Skrull gods fighting! And yea, secret invasions tie ins would be awesome.
It was fun hearing your recap of this story. I liked the books with Nova going around with the original Super Skrull during this event. Lots of backstabbing heh.
The Skrulls outdate Thanos by a few decades lol the only reason Thanos looks like he does is Jim Starlin based him on Darkseid/Metron and Thanos has craggy features because Darkseid has craggy features.
The Skrulls we see in the comics are the Deviant-Form of the Skrulls (Deviants/Eternals are like an offshoot of a "normal" Race, somehow like a different line in evolution, there are also Deviant/Eternal Humans) In this case the Deviant-Form off Skrulls are the more superior form on their planet. Thanos is the Son of Eternals but was born as a Deviant..So I think thats why they look similar..
they are similar in that they are the deviant versions of their species:the skrulls everyone knows and despises are deviant skrulls, while thanos is a eternal deviant human
I'm glad with all the evil going on in the world we can all come together for 15 to 30 minutes at a time under your voice Rob. Superman love over here for you my guy. So much appreciation ✊
Thank you so much for uploading this video. I just recently got back into comics and was very interested in this series once I saw these covers at a comic book shop. I definitely will go back now and purchase these. I'd be interested to know about the ties ins too when you get a chance.

How do you feel about Bendis? I personally don't like him because I blame him for the character assassination of Scott Summers and his overall writing of mutants.
Joshua Dao I like Bendis. Although he does have some stories I don't like he does have a lot of amazing stories. You can't just look at one bad thing he did, you have to look at his work as a whole.
so many requests man. just keep it up. I love your stories. the narration method. the side stories you incorporate for full depth. I don't even care which stories you do. I'll keep watching
I work by myself all day, and get to listen all day long. Thank you for doing this.. Great detail and your voice is perfect for story telling. I'm 43 and I just bought my first comic again in 20 years..
Yeah I still have the issues where Super Skrull impersonated Danny. It happened in Namor. Interesting. I didn't know Super Skrull was against the Invasion.
The events surrounding Skrull Pym are good. You also missed the ship they rescued with the heroes, the skrulls had kidnapped earlier. I forget the book that was that 52 state initiative training facility. There were those glasses that could see the skrulls which led to the return of the Skrull Kill Krew.
Well The Black Panther was by far the best standalone tie in: great art and a good story of the strength of Wakanda. But Thunderbolts, Captain Britian & MI 13, Inhumans, Runaways/Young Avengers, and Captain Marvel tie ins were at least to me the best ones.
Am I the only one weirded out by how bloodthirsty the heroes got? Skrulls are another sentient race but they were slaying them like sentinels. I'm just saying green lives matter too lol
Nah Skrulls are a vile race, what shocks me is how they killed thel while the Skrulls barely remembered they were Skrull and not heroes. So they were kind in a shock state, kinda like Mar-Vell. Imagine if you think you are a human, part of the Rob Corps on TH-cam, then you realize you were a Skrull in mission the whole time, your family is not your family, the life you lived is not yours to be... Then you get killed by an axe in the head
Yeah their great. I've partially read Dark reign and few tie ins from Iron Man and Ms Marvel where their chased by Norman Osborn and his Dark Avengers consisting of supervillains in hero disguises like Spider-Man (Venom, Mac Gargan the previous Scorpion), Ms Marvel (Moonstone, Karla Scofen), Ares, Sentry, Hawkeye (Bullseye, Lester) and Wolverine (Daken, Logan's son). They decide to hunt down every super hero team and individual hero in the marvel universe. Luckily most teams have kicked Norman's teams ass and escaped before being captured. The X-men kicked the Dark Avengers asses which was cool, The Mighty Avengers, Ms Marvel and the New Avengers kicked their asses pretty good. Dark Reign leads to Siege where Norman decides to invade Asgard and invade take out Thor along with the rest of the Asgardians.
Caleb Lantigua Thanks for the info. I haven't read practically anything since civil war, (except for AvsX) so i've missed years of comics. I'm trying to get back on reading, but it's pretty difficult, i don't know where to start. This channel is helping me a lot with that
Sebastian Gouiric Yeah me to. I've been with this channel for 10 years and reading and purchasing comics for like 6 years and their great. The point is that in Civil Captain America was right all along, cause when Iron Man won the war in Civil War let's just literally all hell broke loose. Attacked by Ultron, Hulk goes World breaker on the world, invaded by skrulls, super villains being heroes and chasing superheroes like criminals which in Dark Reign you'll see that a lot and later Siege. The government made all the bad choices. When I read civil war I thought Iron Man was right at first because of all the destruction in previous super hero battles and after Stanford which was horrible 100 children dead, that was a really bad time. When I read the second time I knew something was up and Tony, Reed, and Hank were acting like assholes and brought this nightmare to the earth by making bad decisions. After Siege, The registration act is dissolved and Cap takes Norman Osborne place as chief of security which was so great seeing Cap alive and not dead which lead to heroic age which is glorious and I'm currently reading Heroic age. I recommend in the future you read all the events after Civil War because the best I've ever read in a long time.
I like the tie ins.. The list, Dark Avengers, Utopia, Thunderbolts, Agents of Atlas, Accept Change, Elektra, Lethal Legion, Thor: Latverian Prometheus, Moon Knight, Deadpool.. all good!
I don't understand how Skrulls can not be detected by psychic abilities. If you read their minds, you should be able to see something. That never made sense to me. It's not like they actually believed they were whoever they were mimicking. I get being able to mimick all the other senses and powers, but how do they keep powerful psychics like Xavier, Jean Grey, Scarlet Witch, and the like from being able to see their past or their thoughts in their minds? And how the hell does Dr Strange not have a spell for revealing their true form? Skrulls always annoyed me lol. However, I do have a question, if anybody knows...has there been anyone that the Skrulls were not able to mimick?? And do you think there are any that cannot be mimicked?
phoenixjay55 I remember reading a tie in to these comics that explained there was a process that most of the Skrulls underwent that made them actually believe THEY were the person they were mimicking until the empire needed them. basically sleeper cells. as for your second question, no idea
Caleb Brand. Oh, I never got that feeling with their identities. That to me makes far more sense, this way they actually believe they are who they are mimicking. Thanks. And now all that being said...what do you think the chances are that Steve Rodgers (ANAD Hydra agent) is actually a Skrull?? lol
Really would love a breakdown of Secret Invasion to the same degree as Civil War stuff on this channel. It deserves as much attention imo and this feels rushed in comparison. Still enjoyed thoroughly though.
nick furry and batman should meet up and solve the problem of every thing( the thing reed and the other multi version of himself where trying to do) because those two spend too much time planning for shit before they happen.
I always enjoy the tie ins; it helps to complete the picture. Even if I've read the story myself I enjoy hearing another perspective. Plus if I didn't get to one of the tie ins it can let me know whether or not I want to find it.
It's a side event, but one that explains that Osborne did more than just fire a lucky shot to gain power. In the Deadpool crossover issues, Deadpool was commissioned by Osborne to cripple the science wing of the Skrulls on Earth. He then goes to the scientists and offers to join them, playing up that since humanity rejected him, he would rather join the new regime. He then gets captured and experimented on, his DNA studied and replicated because they wanted to duplicate his healing factor; the Skrulls knew that his healing factor was even greater than Wolverine's, and able to regenerate limbs. He is basically immortal. The Skrulls cloned his DNA and grafted it to the greatest Skrull warriors, while simultaneously speeding up the process of maturity. That was, of course, part of Deadpool's plan. As he explained when he got loose, the healing factor was not part of his DNA; it was artificially and imperfectly grafted onto his body. What IS a part of his DNA is malignant terminal cancer. And by speeding up the maturing, the greatest Skrull warriors were dying or dead from Stage 4 cancer. As a bonus, he got a lot of data from the scientists and tried sending the information; however, Osborne intercepted the data transfer and passed off the information as his own. It set up something that was, sadly, not followed up on - Deadpool being denied a chance of being right seen as a hero by Osborne, and plotting revenge.
Just watching Age of Ultron again and noticed something said by Captain America at the end. In light of the announcement that the Skrulls will be entering the MCU and the idea that Kevin Feige has all these stories roughly planned out in advance, I think the following scene could be seen as a little foreshadowing.... Capt says to Tony, 'family, stability... I dunno, the guy who wanted all that went into the ice 75 years ago. I think someone else came out.' Could this mean that Capt is a secret Skrull sleeper agent. It would explain why he doesn't seem too bothered by breaking up the avengers for his own goals in Civil war. Just a theory.
hi rob, thanks for the vid. I love the sound of a playlist that goes through this marvel rebooty thingy your channel pushed me over to buying comics, but which team goes where and all the events are confusing your videos help a lot, thankyou.
It was secret wars. It was a troll because everyone was wondering where secret invasion was, because smaller events had been done, and secret invasion.... Was a secret tie in.
honestly the best tie in is that one where x-ray man can see all the skrulls and just before he's able to tell anyone that one good skrull fucks everything up... it was such a good series P.S. keep it up rob love the content love everything you're doing on here, also if you could cover animal vegetable mineral man that'd be incredimazing
Probably not, IMO. Civil War happened to turn out OK despite the small roster involved. Skrull Invasion was even more massive it felt and would lose a LOT of it's oomph by shrinking it down. Not to mention virtually no casual movie goer would have ANY idea what the Skrull even are. The Skrull haven't really been mentioned at all in the films either, no build up, no trickling of info. It'd be really difficult and I don't think it'd pay off. Skrull likely won't come in, if ever, until way later. Then we'd have to wonder if Skrull are even doable due to FF being involved with Fox, as the Skrull are typically a FF foe more than anything else.
In order to do Secret Invasion, it'd need more build up than Thanos, and he's been building up since Avengers 1. The Skrulls would take at least double that. To both build up the roster, and abduct some people, establish skrull abilities and backstory, and so much more.
Justin Farrar well they did kind of tease it. they asked kevin feige whats next after thanos. they said, oh its a *secret* so it can be secret wars or secret invasion so we never know...
Mel Mota yeah, but at the same time, isn't "secret" what everyone uses to state that they don't want to reveal certain information without lying?. Oh, what present are you getting Person A? It's a Secret. Oh, therefore it's this one thing that has the word "Secret" in it.

It was fun hearing your recap of this story. I liked the books with Nova going around with the original Super Skrull during this event. Lots of backstabbing heh.
Dude also when u slow him down he sounds drunk LMAOOOOO yo its epic 🤣🤣🤣
21:25 anybody else notice Cartman from South Park?
Yeah he’s at the top left
Thanks Rob! Love I can come to these when Marvel drops a trailer
you know what I just noticed?
Skrulls have the same chin structure as Thanos....
um, where DID the skrulls come from again??
koodude2313 Jay Leno
Tobio Smash so it’s a deviant trait? Very interesting 🤔
they are similar in that they are the deviant versions of their species:the skrulls everyone knows and despises are deviant skrulls, while thanos is a eternal deviant human
Pro: I can watch these videos all day
Con: I can watch these videos all day
OOF
I'm glad with all the evil going on in the world we can all come together for 15 to 30 minutes at a time under your voice Rob. Superman love over here for you my guy. So much appreciation ✊
Thank you so much for uploading this video. I just recently got back into comics and was very interested in this series once I saw these covers at a comic book shop. I definitely will go back now and purchase these. I'd be interested to know about the ties ins too when you get a chance.

Rob I have your voice in my head as I go to bed most night. I love watching these videos! it's like having somone read me bed time stories lol. thanks for doing secret invasion. I've been waiting on this foreverrrrr . "peace"
How do you feel about Bendis? I personally don't like him because I blame him for the character assassination of Scott Summers and his overall writing of mutants.
I think he is like a coin, either he is a badass with great stories, or a turd sandwich that brings the characters down for years
Joshua Dao I like Bendis. Although he does have some stories I don't like he does have a lot of amazing stories. You can't just look at one bad thing he did, you have to look at his work as a whole.
I don't really like him. He singlehandedly trashed Carol Danvers in CW2 and the character has greatly hated since then.
He ruined the Guardians of the Galaxy for me.
And he writes Thanos like an idiotic saturday morning cartoon villain
so many requests man. just keep it up. I love your stories. the narration method. the side stories you incorporate for full depth. I don't even care which stories you do. I'll keep watching
The real worst case scenario: ANAD Marvel
F00KIN N00TIN lol
F00KIN N00TIN no it the reprinting of avengers 199 and 200
Aka. the transvestite universe.
Real Worst case scenario : Brian Bendis
Agreed
You sound less enthusiastic in your old vids lol, i cant stop bingeing em tho
I think a major event chronology would be absolutely amazing!
I work by myself all day, and get to listen all day long. Thank you for doing this.. Great detail and your voice is perfect for story telling. I'm 43 and I just bought my first comic again in 20 years..
I'm surprised during this whole story there wasn't a reference to Super Skrull replacing Danny Rand.
Supremmo He replaced danny waaaaaay before secret invasion, actually during secret invasion he's been pretty much against his people
Yeah I still have the issues where Super Skrull impersonated Danny. It happened in Namor. Interesting. I didn't know Super Skrull was against the Invasion.
Supremmo He pretty much was neutral but he also helped Nova since they were allyies during the annihilation wave by killing some skurlls
And now he's the leader of the Skrull Empire.
Yup... i love that character
PLEASE DO SHAZAM EXPLAINED!!!!!
Norman Osborne doing the old "I killed Cell" Mr. Satan taught us.
Hey Rob big fan your one of my favorite youtuber but can you do a video when the hulk hulked out
Well The Black Panther was by far the best standalone tie in: great art and a good story of the strength of Wakanda. But Thunderbolts, Captain Britian & MI 13, Inhumans, Runaways/Young Avengers, and Captain Marvel tie ins were at least to me the best ones.
who’s here because the new marvel secret invasion series trailer?
I watch your videos while I work out, the more videos you post, the more I work out.
thanks dude!
Finally I have been waiting for years!!!!!
Half hour videos... i love'em
Full hour... I'd watch those too.
Secret invasion was one of my first real binge comics reading.
Who watching this when Spider-Man Far From Home coming out
me too
I doubt even the writers of these comics could explain it this well, great work, get well soon
Who is here preparing for secret invasion on Disney+?
Love it! Totally love seeing the tie-ins. Also would greatly appreciate these being put in chronological order.
Am I the only one weirded out by how bloodthirsty the heroes got? Skrulls are another sentient race but they were slaying them like sentinels. I'm just saying green lives matter too lol
nitrologly the fantastic four and Spider-Man weren't bloodthirsty here
The heroes had every right to be blood thirsty after what the skrulls did and were planning to do
It was a war for extinction. Not really much of a choice. Either your race lives or theirs.
Then you get killed by an axe in the head
it was not just a skirmish, it was literally a war for the human race
Absolutely riveting. Best new channel find in many months. Subscribed.
Hey Rob.. can you please.. please.. go over Infinite Crisis and who Max Lord is. Please..
YES I WANNA SEE ALL THE TIE-INS!!!!!!
Love you vids man, super awesome
best comic video i've seen r. hope you're feeling better. keep rambling.
I'd love to see videos about dark reign and the heroic age :D
Sebastian Gouiric If you need help on any comic or follow a continuity at all, you can ask me for help if you need it.👍🏻👍🏻
Caleb Lantigua You can be sure i will :)
Suprised you haven't touched on each a lot of the other events like this and fear itself before. Thanks for the awesome Content Rob
Who is here after the Secret Invasion for MCU was announced!!!???
I wonder how they'll do it since the skulls are the good guys.
@@thoughtsbeforeactions714skrulls were bad guys
It would be cool if you did some videos on the 90's mystical mister stories. Maybe start with Rise of the Midnight Sons and go to Siege of Darkness.
DARK REIGN: The showdown between Molecule Man and The Sentry might be fun to examine.
Turns out they actually DID believe they were whoever they were mimicking... Dat brainwashing.
Caleb Brand. Oh, I never got that feeling with their identities. That to me makes far more sense, this way they actually believe they are who they are mimicking. Thanks. And now all that being said...what do you think the chances are that Steve Rodgers (ANAD Hydra agent) is actually a Skrull?? lol
A Skrull and brainwashed by hydra.....too much + a Captain America's about to die apparently
Probably a similar way Magneto avoids it
EASYLY ONE OF THE BEST STORIES EVER
Who else is here after secret invasion Disney plus was announced
Really would love a breakdown of Secret Invasion to the same degree as Civil War stuff on this channel. It deserves as much attention imo and this feels rushed in comparison. Still enjoyed thoroughly though.
Im here after the trailer
Doctor Doom looks so bad ass at the end with the cabal. Arms crossed like...fuck with me!!! I wanna see the tie ins
nick furry and batman should meet up and solve the problem of every thing( the thing reed and the other multi version of himself where trying to do) because those two spend too much time planning for shit before they happen.
I always enjoy the tie ins; it helps to complete the picture. Even if I've read the story myself I enjoy hearing another perspective. Plus if I didn't get to one of the tie ins it can let me know whether or not I want to find it.
"Carol Danvers can go toe to toe with the Hulk" wtf are you putting in that vaper
Jakob Sørensen She can though, she's a cosmic powerhouse.
No she can't.
When did she get that power-up "now you are a captain so heres a free power-up" did i miss something in the ultimates
Jakob Sørensen Yeah one thing I know, warbird Carol Danvers is not even near Hulk level of strength, and I don't know about the new stuff.
Jakob Sørensen Like in the 80s dude.
Here after Marvel announced Secret Invasion?
I love these videos and the length. Thanks Rob (and his staff)
in all honesty. wouldn't the superheroes just go "you haven't worn that costume in forever, you're a Skrull."
So the Thunderbolts were basically Marvel's answer to DC's Suicide Squad.
I always thought that
Just watching Age of Ultron again and noticed something said by Captain America at the end.
Colm Carton I definitely think Cap is the most likely candidate to be a Skrull.
That didn't pan out lmao
hi rob, thanks for the vid.
I love the sound of a playlist that goes through this marvel rebooty thingy
your channel pushed me over to buying comics, but which team goes where and all the events are confusing
your videos help a lot, thankyou.
Basically Scarlett Johansson was the skrull version in the movies not the true bad ass from the comics lol
thanks rob,im really enjoying these videos. This one had alot of info. thanks for the hard work bro! shalom
What us the story where Cap owns one side of the U.S and Tony has the other side of the U.S, and it turns out most every hero was a Skrull?
Casey Jones what if civil war never ended, comicstorian covers it
It was secret wars. It was a troll because everyone was wondering where secret invasion was, because smaller events had been done, and secret invasion....
Was a secret tie in.
it ended up not being much of a "secret" invasion
honestly the best tie in is that one where x-ray man can see all the skrulls and just before he's able to tell anyone that one good skrull fucks everything up... it was such a good series
P.S. keep it up rob love the content love everything you're doing on here, also if you could cover animal vegetable mineral man that'd be incredimazing
did rob ever do war of kings?
I'd like to see Rob tackle War of Kings; Marvel Cosmic gets a little confusing
No.
Jermaine J he should that was an awesome story
he would have to cover Annihilation first and also deadly Genesis since both tie into that
I just read that story it was great
Another great video, Rob!
Do you think they will make a Skrull invasion movie after Infinity War?
Oh, therefore it's this one thing that has the word "Secret" in it.
no no, when he used the word secret he did the whole quotation sign, like secret is suppose to mean something big, get me?
Please do the tie-ins! This is the best!
