@@charlesl5251 Yes I'd say the best member of the Ultimate FF was definitely Ben. Just a normal guy who got roped into the whole super science thing and didn't lose sight of the forest from the trees. Reed obviously had his family, Sue and Johnny lived very not-normal lives growing up being coddled by their own super scientist father. None of them could give each other what they needed, and Ben was the only one strong enough to withstand the burden by himself.
@@mcpics4448 But that isn't fair at all. Reed chose to try to save billions of innocent men, women, and children, instead of stay with Sue. The fact that his attempt failed doesn't make him wrong to try. Sue AND Ben punished him for trying to do the right thing. Ultimate universe is full of assholes with the exception of the spider-fam.
The fact that the multiverse reached out to 1610 reed with a friendly hand only for it to be rotting hand of the zombie fantastic four is one of the moments i fully believed started pushed him towards villainy.
I feel like that was glazed over a bit too much. Can you imagine hearing a SOS from a cool alternative dimension version of yourself that tells you all these awesome things about your (possible) life, just to find out that you had been tricked by a zombie trying to infect your entire world? That’d be pretty damn crushing.
Well it's honestly him being introduced to everything he thought as a kid and being decieved he finally got to go to the end zone only to find out it's basically a dead world and the same with him finally being able to enter a alternate universe. It shows that these places they strived to go all their lives was for nothing which is why he felt compelled to make it something a "perfect place" if you will and didn't want anyone from the earth 1610 universe coming over because he knew they would interfere with his plans because S.H.I.E.L.D & the government aren't fans of people with powers.
I wish the Maker and 616 Doctor Doom interacted one or two more times. The biggest reason why Doom hates Reed is because he knows, deep down, that Reed is smarter than him but he does less with it. He could fix literally everything but chooses to only save the world as a part time job and spend the rest of his time with his family, and that drives Doom up the wall. I would love to see the look on Doom's face if he saw the Maker, really saw what he was capable of, and had the horrible realization that their world is in fact LUCKY that Reed never adopted Doom's philosophy.
That almost happened in Infamous Iron Man but Bendis had to Bendis and turned out to be Mephisto disguised as The Maker, *sigh* that run started so well
Doom hates Richards for being a half-hearted hero, and it infuriates him that even then, he still gets consistently beaten by him. Doom would hate The Maker for giving up on being a good man entirely and being a half-hearted version of Doom instead. If you want to be a mediocre version of yourself, that's one thing, but if you wish to emulate DOOM, do it properly!
I think the Maker is what the Batman Who Laughs could have been if DC put effort into crafting something good from a shaky foundation instead of shoehorning him into almost every single thing for marketing. Maker definitely had a pretty shoddy introduction and the concept wasn't exactly groundbreaking, but I think them playing into and exploring Reed's worst tendencies as a character really helped him stand out as a unique hero-turned-villain.
Ye BWL is barely even a character. Some over the top cosmic plague that came to be because Batman basically fell into the chemicals the Joker did. I know it’s the gas from the Joker’s body but you get what I mean. I’d love another writer to take the concept and just make it more normal, a whole lot more self aware and less evil contingency man.
@@tomjames9681 technically the batman who laughs is about bruce's worst characteristic. it's the story of justice league tower of babel/doom and brother eye to the extreme. in that justice league story, it showed how paranoid bruce can be because he does have trust issues. another part is the idea of what if he did kill joker and the ramification because of it. batman as we know hold back on killing, because he's afraid of what he will become because of that action. he's afraid of becoming this murder machine to continues to kill everything within his sight. it's to show how batman's paranoia pull to the extreme, this will happen to him.
The Batman Who Tries Too Hard isn't comparable to The Maker. TBWTTH was popular with EdgeLords cuz of aesthetics. The Joker is the best Villain in all of fiction & Batman is the best Hero, they make an awesome team, as the perfect "straight man" & "funny man" combo, but a lame amalgamation. And everyone forgets that The Joker is 6'5" & 191lbs in canon & it's J's speed, length, unpredictability, & inhuman pain tolerance that make him so formidable at H2H CQC
I mean Owlmman exist being the superior Batman alternative, I don’t think the Batman who laughs was supposed to be anything more than an evil Batman Joker with his plot armor and prep time.

26:00 It's important to note, Marvel Zombies isn't an alternate version of the Ultimate Universe. It's an alternate universe to 616. Which just makes this harder on Reed, because nothing the Zombie Reed said was a lie regarding the family or anything, it's just that after getting zombified, well, it didn't end well. Ultimate Reed learned what his 616 Counterpart's life was like, but then also saw it all destroyed. And Ultimate Magneto isn't even a Holocaust survivor or anything, and is much more evil. So he's even seeing the root corruption of his entire universe for the first time, and seeing how there's universes where everything was better on their Earth. And it _still_ ends in horror for them.
Important to note that Reed actually meets Magneto from the alternate zombified universe, and unlike his ultimate counterpart, he sacrificed his life to save HUMANS.
Because there are no heroes let alone superheroes in the ultimate universe, these people are selfish entitled piece of s who has piece of s parents. In a way Maker is the virus needed to destroy that depressing world
@@dou7127 Yeah, because MZ mostly diverges in the somewhat modern era, where Magento hasn't really been a real villain. Also he has common sense. It would have been extra shattering for The Maker if he found out that one of the final heroes was Doom.
Something that really broke my heart and gave the game away for what truly defined what the Maker really is was during Ultimate Invasion where he told Miles he was gonna leave for a new universe and he offered Miles a spot by his side. The Maker admits he's asking Miles this because they're kindred spirits as the sole survivors of a dead universe and if things were different, he'd really want someone to offer him what he's offering Miles. The Maker is a petty narcissist who craves family and connections but he's locked himself out of ever getting it
The irony behind the Maker targeting Peter first is that the original Ultimate universe was birthed through Spider-man. By preventing the birth of this starting point, he gains full control to do what he wishes with this world as he pleases.
He is, yet the reason isn't the Spider-Man comic basically starts the universe but because Spidey is canonically The World's Greatest Hero. The Ultimate Universe even acknowledges this because he is considered to become the leader of all the heroes. No wonder Reed started with Peter Parker while some heroes in the universe remain avoided by him even when they are pretty powerful themselves. He also acted in other similar ways when he himself became the character he is now by turning evil & targeting the OG Peter Parker. Ultimate universe show this because Reed has studied Peter very well too here.
What's funny is in the new Ultimate Universe that's the FIRST person he picks to prevent their origin from happening like he could have picked heroes more powerful like Thor to go after first but nah he wanted Spider-Man out of the way because he knows how dangerous he can be and how he is someone who never quits so he can pose a real threat to his conquering of this new world.
And there's the obvious visual parallel of Peter and Liz to young Reed and Sue there, too. It probably fucked with him deep in the back of that traffic cone of his. Peter has a foundation trait of goodness from his father mentor (Ben NotGrimm.). Even the happiest childhood of Reed doesn't share that inate selflessness somehow... it has to be learned much later than Peter had developed it. He's literally an embodiment of what typical Reed would be like with the support he gains from his f4 family. So it's a perfect choice no matter what one who's legend he extinguishes first.
"Grant Morrison telepathically sends a message to all heroes..." Hearing that made my headache worse from laughter. That line was unexpected and welcomed, sincerely. I really needed that laugh , thanks dude.
The Maker is 100% what DC wanted The Batman Who Laughs to be, but with actual character and substance to his story where TBWL has only edginess. It's so weird and at the same time awesome to see a version of Reed Richards that is in every way what Doom always claimed he was.
To be fair, the creator of that batman and cour of owls never wanted them to be long term. His background is in horror, and they were meant to be one-offs. But, you ,know... comics
@@r.babylon2885You're right about that... but he continued writing everything important about the Batman Who Laughs... and it didn't turn out well at all.
Batman turning because of Joker poison isnt really a character arc but a gimick. He was made as a one off. If he was designed as a fallen hero then he should been written to take the Joker poison intentionally.
@r.babylon2885 I really wish they had actually stuck to him being a one-off, because if he had been a one and done character, people may have liked him more because they wouldn't have gotten so tired of him.
You are dead wrong. Batman Who Laughs is and always was ment to be fusion of Joker and Batman, and not just be "evil Batman". Same as Red Death was ment to be fusion flash and batman or Drowned was fusion between batman and Aquaman. DC always toyed with idea of hybrid characters ever since rebirth dropped. Konfusion is recant example of it. If anything it is the Maker who is Marvel's version of Superboy prime. Let me explain: There are few universal truths in comic book verse. One of those is that superman is THE ultimate hero. No matter the age, no matter the writer, nor the universe or multiverse; Superman is always canonically the strongest. It is a universal constant in DC. On the other hand Reed Richards is always the smartest person in each Marvel universe. The council of Reeds proves it. And the character of SuperBoy Prime is a play on this dynamic. The story of: what if the ultimate man had no emphaty. A deep envy for a perfect life he was not allowed to live. He starts fighting a one-sideed crusade for a bygone multiverse vs EVERYONE. A development which the Maker is no stranger to. (Best exeplified in the video.) The SBP is stronger then Superman because he never holds back. The Maker is smarter from Richards because he cast his morality aside. Richards and Superman put their brilliance aside to take care of their family, while SBP and the Maker both lack that love in their lives. Simply put: They are nostaligic for something that does not exist. The constuct of the City and Cosmic Tuning Tower is ment to matrialize that "nostalgia". Closed off space to create a "perfect" reality. The Maker is clearly inspired by by the Superboy Prime not the Batman Who Laughs lol. BWL is actually based of off different character called Judge Death from 2000 AD comics.
The new Ultimate run where the Maker absolutely ruins Reed's life, disfigures him and ultimately brainwashing Ultimate Reed into believing he's Doctor Doom was actually really cool, you see Reed try to cope with being responsible for the deaths of the Fantastic Four (Maker messes with his calculations on the spaceship where they got their powers from) and slowly, through facial disfigurement and mindgames, doesn't even believe himself to be Reed Richards anymore. Oh you brought it up nvm lol
It’s like an echo of The Maker’s (and the Ultimate Fantastic Four’s) own origin where a version of Doom messed with coordinates to create a horrible outcome Maker went from being the guy who proved to Doom that he’s the better man…to being exactly like him
Bro another TH-camr did this earlier in the week which is funny as hell because I’ve always thought the Chipmunks in the movies were really made to LOOK like their names

"The Maker" works so well because 616"Mr.Fantastic" Reed Richards has always had questionable, or problematic aspects to his character that were always downplayed or overshadowed by his good side. But there are things like the idea that (after retcons) he could have always cured Ben or knew that Ben could control it but didn't say anything, and instead, he chose not to as a way to teach him something. The council of Reed's (alternate versions of himself) are all of them are versions of Reed who abandoned their families to work with other versions of themself, doing things that include capturing versions of Doctor Doom from around the multiverse to make them brain dead vegetables they keep in a giant basement. The Maker doesn't feel like a 'Batman who Laughs' type of character, or even a villain from an extended "What if?". He's the same Reed we know already, born under different circumstances, who shows parts of himself that we normally wouldn't see, as if 616 Reed has just as much potential to become The Maker.
as I saw it once depicted, reed richards is the world most intelligent idiot with positive thinking, while the maker is neither an idiot nor has had anything positive happening to them before sue, and did not know how to handle it

I kinda wanna point out that that part when The Maker turns Reed into a chimp is almost a parallel to AM and Benny. AM turned Benny into a chimp due to him having everthing, looks, smarts, charisma, and though it would be hilarious to see this man have all of this be taken away. Meenwhile, altough a diferent reason, The Maker turns Reed into a chimp due to a reminder of everything he had, which The Maker is olpy coping (and seathing) by calling it weakness btw. I think that the one thing above all that made sure that 616 Reed and 1610 Reed ended up on different paths was that 616 Reed was responsible for the accident that created the Fantastic Four. That lesson in humility keeps him grounded. 1610 Reed never learned that lesson. He almost did, but the blame went away too soon for it to set in.
Mainline Reed caused the accident out of arrogance, so assured of his own intelligence that he never considered that it might go wrong until it was far too late. Ultimates Reed didn't cause the accident. His calculations were correct, his safety measures were sufficient, he did everything right. It was someone else who ruined everything. It was someone else who caused the disaster. The accident teaches both Reeds a very different lesson. One learns humility, to not be so assured of the inherent rightness of his assumptions. The other learns that other people make mistakes, not him. He learns that others shouldn't be trusted, and that if he can just do things his way without interference, everything will be perfect. One becomes a hero. The other, a monster.
Still not sure why they decided to retcon this. It's not like Ultimate's Doom was interesting variation, other than having strange legs he was a faint copy of the original one. They wouldn't loose much by killing him like the others. Especially considering that during post-Ultimatum era we never saw much of him. He was once part of Sue's new team to handle the aftermath and then pretty much nothing until the last days of Earth-1610
I think The Maker really just did try to be better and simply failed at every turn. That moment of inviting Miles to his new world was likely a final attempt to gain some kind of morality, some slight piece of humanity that could've grounded him as they moved forward and made a world. I think its also why peter was the first hero that the maker made sure to nerf. Cause Spiderman truly is the golden boy, the heart of the marvel universe and when he tried to give that to his perfect world, Spiderman refused. Thats what sealed it.
The maker is climbing up really fast as Marvels greatest villain at least from the new millennium, his story panning over 20 years from hero to villain is really fascinating and it enriches his story looking back at how things started, im sure back then nobody planned on where we are now but the direction it took was properly built upon its almost miraculous, i hope more and more people get exposed to him creating a new wave of readers

Jonathan Hickmans new Ultimate universe is so good… I stoped reading comics for years…but his new run on the avengers and spider-man for sure got me back in…it’s kinda crazy that he used the maker as the primary reason that the new ultimate universe is the way it is
The thing that make so special The Maker is the fact that it was nothing we would expect to happen, much less working, since his mainstream counterpart is a hero, we could never guess he would end up becoming evil, but what made it work is that IT MADE SENSE TO THAT VERSION & WAS WRITTEN SO WELL
Huh? Face-Heel turns and Heel-Face turns are a dime a dozen for superheroes/-villains in both Marvel and DC. There were comics where Magneto became leader of the x-Men and Prof. X became a villain. Superman has multiple evil versions of himself, as does Batman (starting with the unhinged psychopath that is late stage Frank Miller's Batman).

While I love maker and glad he happened, his turn to evil was executed so poorly, bendis’s ultimate mystery trilogy is horrendous and I hate that sue and Ben get married at the end even tho they’ve never shown interest in each other
Well i guess you could for the sue and ben thing that was out of knowwhere but as for the maker the differences between 616 reeds past and 1610 reeds past are different 1.he was bullied by students and also abused by his father 2. Much like 616 reed his focus was science and not much on sue so much more logical than emotional So basically this reed did not have good family connections unlike 616 reed
1:15:45 What it comes down to is that Reed Richards is the Earth-1610's _real_ Doctor Doom. In personality, in drive, in thought process, this is 616 Doom's double from 1610, not the Victor of that universe. Even The Maker knows it. That's why he makes 6160 Reed take on the identity of Doctor Doom. It's his own self-awarness personified in another. This Reed is the reflection of himself, a reflection of Doom. He makes Reed into Doom because he is Reed who has become Doom. Even The Maker's disfigurement is a mirror of the 616 Doom. Doctor Doom hates Reed Richards, and The Maker hates Reed Richards, so he makes Reed Richards into Doom so he can perceive it as something other than self-loathing. Note also 6160 "Doom" Reed's color scheme. Blue cloak Doom. This story is reliant heavily on the multiverse and echoes. A Doom deposed from his place in the world by a secret alliance of the ruling class which pretends to be rivals? A Doom who must band together with others to save the world from domination? A Doom who has been displaced from time, whose memory is spotty at best? Doom 2099. Doom 2099 becomes what Doom always said he would, and proves himself the true hero of the universe. Doom 2099 is the savior of 2099, the big good of the timeline. The Maker is _so_ smart, but he doesn't recognize that the multiverse is like poetry. It rhymes. By making this universe reach the same destination as the 2099 universe and intentionally creating his own Doctor Doom, he has created this universe's Doom 2099. In the end, 1610 became 616 Doom, and 6160 became the Doom of 2099.
I would also state that Reed in the ultimate universe is coping the way he killed the fantastic four is quite literally the most petty and vengeful form. He knows hes like doctor doon that speech about Reed destroying everything he loves is just comfirmation Reed knows he is a piece of shit but he cannot cope with this. Everything with children of tomorrow and this is for the greater good but the maker casted his humanity apart. It also must of stinged to hear a version of yourself that has everything you wanted say he would erase you from existence.

Speaking of Miles Teller at 1:16:28... his origin in Fant4stic (2015) feels VERY similar to the Ultimate F4, it would be brilliant and smart to bring him back if the MCU ever adapts The Maker
As I hear the video Essay I understand that the fantastic 4 Remake (2015) took a lot of plot from this timeline. I had no idea but then I never thought about reading into it, I can see how the build up was being made. I would totally like to see Miles Teller come back as this version of Reed Richards in Secret Wars although its a long shot. I feel like the reason doom reed didn’t turn out like the maker is cuz the maker willingly gave up his humanity where he’s trying to forcibly take away this reeds
The Maker is honestly a really refreshing villain because it's not just a stereotypical it's Reed Richards but he is evil! like a lot of people like to make him out to be when summarizing his character. It's someone we got to see experience constant issues with the world from his home life to even the parts of the world he loved most that being science disappointing him his dream location was a let down, he travelled to a alternate universe only to discover it was completely destroyed, he feels like he is letting down Ben constantly because he can't figure out the original combination to cure them, etc. Which is why he develops a sort of god complex like The High Evolutionary where instead of accepting the world for what it is that being full of flaws he is convinced since he is a genius he should remake the world to be perfect with him attempting to do it in the original Ultimate Universe, Battle World & now the new ultimate universe. With it being interesting that he even asked Miles if he would be interested in "returning home" rather than just leaving there himself because why tf would a villain ever ask a hero who is always going to do the right thing if they want to join them?.
Ive been waiting for a deep dive like this into this character and it was even better than i could have hoped. Couldnt stop myself from watching it all and subscribing. Great work on a character ive really enjoyed seeing the development of.
I heard the new Ultimate comics were good, and went to check them out- then I got smacked by how good of a villain the Maker is and how tragic Ultimates #4 is. I like how Ultimate Doom is in many ways an inverse of the Maker as well as a version of Doom- he was genuinely sabotaged, but instead of being arrogant and insisting he did nothing wrong Reed felt guilt which was only exacerbated by the torture. 6160 Doom does have his cold aspects and is obsessive, but it's over his mistake and how much he wants to fix it- yet it isolates him and leaves him lonely, unable to develop new friendships because he's so consumed by the pain of the past. I'm really interested to see where it will go from here. It gives me a hankering for some Fantastic Four comics, which I've never been really into before.
Imagine having your life be such a mess and horrible because of fate. Then finding out that there’s a version of yourself who has everything perfectly right, wouldn’t you be jealous? Wouldn’t you want to have it be perfect? Wouldn’t you want to *make* it perfect?
I've honestly wondered that many times. And... no. Because that other version of me, is not me, and there's no fixing anything. I couldn't be that other me, no matter how I tried
I believe Reed is a weird case in which I emphasize with villains because the guy is a poor victim who actually tried becoming a hero but the monsters around him turned the guy into a very evil person.
I know this video is about the maker but I really loved this version of The Thing. In a world as cruel and senseless as the ultimate universe he's a man that persevered through hardship and was eventually rewarded

Amazing video! I watched it during brakes between clients and it nade the day pass much shorter. I work 10 hour shifts so things that can make time fly by is amazing. Thanks man!
Not really his story and turn are pretty straightforward when you take into account his entire history. You can see a clear evolution of his goals and personality. The maker is probably one of the most consistently well written villains that marvel has right now.
Yeah, it sounds to me as an outsider like everything after The City and before Ultimates is kinda irrelevant, except maybe Secret Wars. Whenever someone comes up with a cool villain idea, the writers just have to shove them into everything even where they don't fit.
I mean at the same time everyone forgets he’s the first introduction to the most evil state of marvel heroes the zombie universe that surely had to help in the evil transformation
Good to finally just have a comic story told straight without a bunch of false excitement etc. and just simple story telling, some of the other guys oversenationalize every beat, page and moment. Appreciate the work you put into it man.
Huge props this vid is a banger. Also a great look at how cool multiverse stuff can be. Feel like so many rag on the concept alone but with the right execution its crazy good
This video brilliantly tells the man’s beginning, his flaws, such as his selfishness, disappointment, desire for everything to be perfect, and slow descent into villainy. I admit I’m unsure if he did the right or wrong thing by leaving his team because this was a tough call. I acknowledge that Susan was right; she had not accepted his proposal at her father‘s funeral. But I wasn’t sure if Susan was right to break up with him because he prioritized the world because it was challenging. But Susan isn’t responsible for his actions, and he could’ve easily earned her forgiveness. I really enjoyed this video and it was a brilliant piece of work .❤
@@TheLastSpider-Man I don’t know the specifics, but I heard he was a really disturbing creature. It’s to the point where some people call him the most horrifying villain in comics…sadly I only read comics through this channel so I wouldn’t know
So many people trash on The Maker for being unearned, cartoonish, and destructive to the character, but I have always disagreed, and I really appreciate your perspective. I feel as though all of Marvel’s pinnacle Geniuses (Reed, Hank, Tony, T’Challa, and Strange imo) all make very compelling villains when they “snap” under tragedy…. And I think the Maker proves that perfectly… he was never as “good” as 616 Reed, but he loved his family just as deeply, and losing them made him someone else entirely.
49:24 Oh come on, what's a little genocide for a Marvel character? If Magnus does one more, he gets a free ice cream and he gets to lead the X-Men every other Tuesday. Heck, 616 Reed has done genocide (Planet Hulk) and _he_ doesn't get held accountable beyond getting beat up by the World-Breaker. Tony Stark was a part of the same genocide, then he became Dick Cheney, and _he_ got to be redeemed. Ultimate Nick Fury got a do-over and he did a genocide to the Supreme Power universe. Heck, Peter friggin Parker did a genocide once. They were symbiotes invading Earth, but we know symbiotes are sapient beings and Peter _did_ go well and truly beyond "I have to kill for once" to "alright Eddie, it's genociding time". Why is The Maker the only guy who can't get a genocide or two?

Yeah the Maker is real for that honestly
He didn't fumble anything. Sue's expectation to be chosen over Millions of lives is insanely selfish and stupid. Villainous I would even say.
@@charlesl5251to be fair, Reed was wrong on his assumption so it was a wild goose chase in that respect
**Laughs in Ultimate Galactus**
Well it's honestly him being introduced to everything he thought as a kid and being decieved he finally got to go to the end zone only to find out it's basically a dead world and the same with him finally being able to enter a alternate universe. It shows that these places they strived to go all their lives was for nothing which is why he felt compelled to make it something a "perfect place" if you will and didn't want anyone from the earth 1610 universe coming over because he knew they would interfere with his plans because S.H.I.E.L.D & the government aren't fans of people with powers.
What being in a Mark Millar storyline does to a MF'er.
That almost happened in Infamous Iron Man but Bendis had to Bendis and turned out to be Mephisto disguised as The Maker, *sigh* that run started so well
@@DeliciaDamaria He Bends this-a way, he Bends that-a way, he Bends all over the place
@@DeliciaDamariaIf you ask me, for a guy named Bendis, that's a pretty characteristic turn

Yeah, the ultimate universe was definitely one of the worst universes to exist in the multiverse and the Maker realized that
Ultimate magneto is in fact technically a holocaust survivor but unlike main magneto it's unlikely that he ever suffered in any camps
Besides hulk
"Grant Morrison telepathically sends a message to all heroes..."
Hearing that made my headache worse from laughter.
Let me explain:
There are few universal truths in comic book verse.
(Best exeplified in the video.)
The SBP is stronger then Superman because he never holds back.
It’s like an echo of The Maker’s (and the Ultimate Fantastic Four’s) own origin where a version of Doom messed with coordinates to create a horrible outcome

You know what is the weirdest thing about Ultimatum: Doom wasn't the one who did it. It was Sue and Johnny's mother
So...Dr. Storm is like a father. Johnny is like a brother. And Sue is like a sister-wife.

In the end, 1610 became 616 Doom, and 6160 became the Doom of 2099.
this confused me so much
I would also state that Reed in the ultimate universe is coping the way he killed the fantastic four is quite literally the most petty and vengeful form.

I Personally Think The Maker Is A Perfect Villain For The Ultimate Understand
I’m sorry, but there was an ad placement. Then Grimm was talking about suicide and I thought that shit was kind of hilarious.
Hell yea, I just watched a bunch of your longer vids last night. Glad I'm so early for this one!
Your voice acting is actually astonishing man, truly a masterful performance 🎭.
Ive been waiting for a deep dive like this into this character and it was even better than i could have hoped. Couldnt stop myself from watching it all and subscribing. Great work on a character ive really enjoyed seeing the development of.
Mf really turned into obito 💀
😭😭😭😭☠️☠️☠️☠️ Not obito
this was fucked up, man. This guy's a living monster
Ultimate fantastic 4 was heat until the Thanos Arc,they turned bro into Darkseid
and not even a good ripoff of Darkseid, it was so unbelievably lame
What a great movie leading to his downward spiral.
The presentation and music fit extremely well with the voice actinf
Ultimate reed hate toward reed is reverse flash level
Wild that the venture bros satire of reed richards being an egotistical monster just became canon as the writers realized how fucked up he could be
I believe Reed is a weird case in which I emphasize with villains because the guy is a poor victim who actually tried becoming a hero but the monsters around him turned the guy into a very evil person.
I know this video is about the maker but I really loved this version of The Thing. In a world as cruel and senseless as the ultimate universe he's a man that persevered through hardship and was eventually rewarded
Only 3 minutes in and I am already in love with this video I love the quality of the sound I’m always looking for videos like this to listen too going to bed
I extremely enjoyed watching this and you are genuinely my favorite comic book youtuber thank you🙏
Amazing video! I watched it during brakes between clients and it nade the day pass much shorter. I work 10 hour shifts so things that can make time fly by is amazing. Thanks man!
I feel like the longer this went on the more convoluted and complicated the story got. It kinda reminds me of Batman Who Laughs.
That’s true and you are right about that
Not really his story and turn are pretty straightforward when you take into account his entire history.
@@saucevc8353welcome to the comics mate, that's the rule for every single character that exist more than a year, not exeption))
@@saucevc8353 agreed
I mean at the same time everyone forgets he’s the first introduction to the most evil state of marvel heroes the zombie universe that surely had to help in the evil transformation
Just recently found your channel from the James Gordon Jr video, I can’t stop binging your content
Good to finally just have a comic story told straight without a bunch of false excitement etc. and just simple story telling, some of the other guys oversenationalize every beat, page and moment.
Appreciate the work you put into it man.
*Calls the maker Theodore
*Shows a picture of Simon 😂
Phenomenal. I love the Maker as a character. The contrast to what a “Reed” is in substance is such an interesting aspect.
Just finished cool vid👍
Guy💀
Dawg, it was released 6 minutes ago, no you did not,
@@Thatechoissoannoying I watched in 2x speed
STOP FINISHING YOU'RE GETTING IT EVERY WHERE!!!
gang had to watch at a 75 times speed to finiss
Huge props this vid is a banger.
Also a great look at how cool multiverse stuff can be. Feel like so many rag on the concept alone but with the right execution its crazy good
32:25 Grant Morrison DID WHAT??????😂😂😂
Yoo I was thinking Thames thinggg!!!
I really enjoyed this video and it was a brilliant piece of work .❤
Can we get more creepy characters? Like the upside down man?
Who's the upside down man?
@@TheLastSpider-Man I don’t know the specifics, but I heard he was a really disturbing creature. It’s to the point where some people call him the most horrifying villain in comics…sadly I only read comics through this channel so I wouldn’t know
this is incredibly well-made and a great explanation of who the Maker is. Awesome Video, Man!
You know im kinda of a maker you know
That’s not a good thing, do the right thing :(
If your pfp is accurate, you make polka dots. And I am 100% on board with this
"Say that again..."
That line is going to be in one of the movies coming out mark my words
"Do you want to marry me?"
"My dad died!"
"I guess I'm a villain now."
And I think the Maker proves that perfectly… he was never as “good” as 616 Reed, but he loved his family just as deeply, and losing them made him someone else entirely.
the fucking bow that bit hawkeye is comedic genius and needs to be appreciated
I kinda actually like the maker lmao the villain I didn’t think we needed
Masterful... Just a Masterful video
'cause he have bad boy drip and in comics it's all about looks, not who you are inside despite some people trying to reasure otherwise))
Planet Hulk wasnt the Illuminatis fault. The ship wasnt supposed to blow up. It was Miek iirc.
the maker shouldnt have killed humans
@@gapsule2326they did the initial calculation wrong, and Reed is supposed to be the best at spaceship, so it’s all his fault
@@HangMrH No, the calculations were right, Hulk in his rage broke the ship which changed it's course
Awesome video. Probably the best explanation of the Maker I’ve seen yet. I’m also glad to see this video cause it’s the first of the comics/stories you teased at the end of your AM video, so I’m excited.
Just don’t push yourself too hard, Mullet. Take care of yourself. And thank you.
"the bow that bit Hawkeye" I was already enjoying this video but that shit was weak 😂 I like your content, I just have a hard time knowing what's what. Definitely room on TH-cam for think pieces on comic villains tho, this is great work.
I loved the voice acting, it was a pleasant surprise from you're videos and I hope you make more character dive or storyline long-form videos like these !
There's something about the notion of the greatest villain in the history of Marvel not being Dr Doom but rather Reed Richards that just really tickles me.
The comparison specifically being the thing that puts it over.
The sunspot arc is where marvels writing went from “let’s hire good writers” to
“Which failed YA writer or tumbler person is writing the books today!”
Era.
