I got started in car care by buying a chemical guys kit so I think this will sell well. I would buy this but I have plenty of chemicals and it's more economical to buy by the gallon for my business.
For the Diablo, if you look carefully on the nozzle, it has four sides- two are “off” one is “spray” and one is “jet stream” you may need to turn it 180 degrees to get the fan spray you’re looking for
Just bought a similar bucket kit at Costco for $49.99 in Bakersfield CA. Most items were the same; wash mit, Diablo cleaner, glass cleaner, interior cleaner, Max suds wash grape 64 oz, 1 Terry cloth for cleaning and a 36 × 24 in drying towel, and a 3 pack of cherry air freshers. Not bad for the price, but was a little disappointed it didn't come with disc for filtering wash cloth. Overall I think it was a pretty good buy.
I started out with Chemical Guys. Back then, they sometimes gave out free bottles of product when they first started out. I still use "Mr. Pink" their soap. I don't know why some people bash their products.
As a professional detailer we both know that 95% of vehicles we are detailing are modern paint. The expensive foam cannons ,multiple pads ,chemicals ...Not needed. Now if you want to try and sell these items for profit ,understood. Same applies for DA/Orbitals A great detail gets a better detail from a Bauer DA ,compared to a good detailer with a flex150
Believe it or not, the Chemical Guys Cyclone grit reducer is one of the BEST (and most effective) there is. Even over the famed Dirt Lock. Diablo get's bashed a lot but I also like it quite a bit, especially for well maintained rims which is all I ever have anyway because I would never let my rims get trashed. Works well and smells great, again, on well maintained wheels. Get the "concentrate" form and just dilute it as you wish. It's probably not going to tackle the heavy caked on dirt without multiple applications. Total interior is also a good maintenance product. Just mist onto the microfiber cloth and wipe down the interior. Leaves a fresh clean scent and no residue or sheen. Totally OEM look which I love. For the money and availability at Wally world and other larger retailers, you can't go wrong with that one. I've also been using their Banana Spray Wax as a quick wax (Not in this particular kit but available at Wally world) to spruce up the paint before I go out somewhere in my sports car. Works great in that application. Durability, no, it's mainly for the ease of use and a quick spruce up and does add a great "pop" to the paint quickly. The smell is one of the best there is in a detailing product. Smells like Banana laffy taffy. I think you hit the nail on the head here.....this kit is a great kit for most people who want to just maintain their vehicle at home. Of course people watching your channel are probably detailing enthusiasts who may or may not have an interest in this particular kit or probably already have everything they need. BUT.....for 95% of the world who just wants to maintain their vehicle....this looks like a pretty solid option for a decent price and would give most people everything they would want to maintain their daily drivers and keep everything neatly packed away and organized in a garage or wherever they choose to store the bucket.
The reason a thin chemical will foam more is because it’s far easier for the foam cannon to insert gas (O2) into a less viscous liquid than it is into a more viscous liquid. The vacuum injection system that a foam cannon uses for the thinner chemical will not work on a thicker chemical, where you would actually need a positive pressure system to mix O2 into the thicker stuff to create the foam needed. Hope that makes sense
I like the Diablo as well. Just never buy the premix. You can get 16oz of concentrate for about the same price, maybe a little less. The initial premix that came with the starter bucket I bought barely got me through 2 washes, and I was really trying to conserve the product on my less dirty rear wheels. The concentrate I just finished got me through easily 10. Switched to P&S Brakebuster now.
I'm a fan of chemical guys products I also use their bucket for storage car wash products in one bucket polishes, compound in another just helps with me to organize and garage clutter.
Yea Ive seen them there too. Not sure what included in those ones, but im assuming its very similar. Next time i see it ill grab one and check them out
The Walmart one is simpler. It only have The Bucket, lid, dirt trap, 16oz Mr Pink, 16oz Diabo wheel gel, silk shine 160z and their green chenille wash mitt
Absolutely no way anyone should consider the bucket and lid to be $20.... Come on, people! You can buy a bucket and lid anywhere for $4-5 at most. I get them "free" when I buy pool chemicals... On a better note, I'm glad to hear the wheel/tire cleaner is good. I can't stand scented products and CG is widely known for their cheap smelling interior products, so I avoid them. Overall, for $55, I think this is a decent buy because you get enough stuff in one shot to clean your vehicles with decent products.
I agree 100%..I have chemical guys down the street from me in Gardena and I still go to 3D..the rebrand there crap 10 times . Your a bigger man than I am because I am saying they products are crap, plus expensive.
Just got a variant of this kit just slight differences. Uniform hyper green mitt, one blue micro fiber cloth, and a smaller honeydew soap. Not really surprise but the cyclone dirt trap almost every stand-off came broken and the lid doesn’t fit or seals on to the bucket. I guess it’ll just work as a seat because the red lid won’t stay on.
Honestly the bucket and lid, grid are worth 35 bucks flat up and they are SOLID beautiful I love the transparency [yes I'm chemical guys biast prob bought well over 1k in product] fabulous products thou that work perfect for everyday consumer no hassle ! Also I love how chemical guys has almost every single on TH-cam why videos of how to use and when to use. Diablo wheel cleaner is my go to that's worth 20 bucks everyday, awesome value !
Good point, the only negative to that is that wheel cleaner already isnt very aggressive so if you dilute it, that will weaken it even more. No problem if youre agitating, but there are cleaners out there that breakdown the dirt and brake dust much more so you dont have to agitate so much
Just saw this kit in Costco the other day! I've never hand washed my car before so I'm a bit nervous to get started. Thanks for the video, I may need to watch a few beginner guides from you. I agree that the bundle could def be a bit cheaper BUT they do it for you and it sounds like they are good quality in general. Granted you can clearly see through the marketing after awhile, CG do get beginners interested in detailing before they probably even heard of retailers like the rag company or autogeek. Like all brands, they have some hits and misses in their line. The consistent negatives about CG products is that they are made to be consumer friendly and safe, which usually means you can find a similar product that will work better/quicker for less cost per use (I think Diablo wheel cleaner is about as aggressive as P&S Brake Buster, but you can get a gallon of brake buster for the price of a couple pints of Diablo). They also tend to mimic any other brand's popular products, which rubs me the wrong way, as it often borders on being deceitful/confusing to the unsuspecting consumer (eg their version of a grit guard only fits their proprietary sized buckets). Lastly, I really don't like the sprayers that come with CG products, they are especially cheap, break all the time, and its nearly impossible to remove them from the bottle. This is a convenient purchase for the person who likes to wash their car in the driveway during the warm weather, probably not very useful to any enthusiasts or professionals.
I got that same bucket at Walmart for 25 bucks. Oh no I got the same bucket but mine came with less stuff. Grit guard, lid, bottle of Mr pink, wheel cleaner, interior cleaner and a wash mit. I thought it was a great deal for 25 bucks.
That’s how I feel about Chemical guys also, feel like half their product are just the same but different color and smell lol… Won’t blame them too much since it probably sells good that way.
I bought this cuz I was at Costco and needed a new bucket mainly and figured I'd try the cleaners and such. The wheel cleaner says to shake the bottle. Did so and it still comes out as a stream on either setting. Set it aside until my other wheel cleaner was empty and swapped the nozzle I had just used onto the new bottle......what had just sprayed in a wide pattern came out as a stream...I was quite surprised. Set it back on the shelf...very strange
I’ve tried a few of there items and I don’t like. You said it best. There products are for light maintenance of an already clean vehicle. I need heavy duty. So like you I hand pick different brands of products that be tried that do the job well. May cost more but the end results pay for themselves. I am looking for new buckets. But I don’t want one with a label on it. The fact that they are clear is awesome. But I don’t want the c-guys label. 😜
The amount of money chemical guys make on the Consumer level you would think they would use some of that money to formulate a professional line from reputable blending companies. TW and mega can cover both sides you would think CG could as well. Their VRP Diluted 1:1 has worked well as a spray on tire dressing for off road lugged side walls which tear up foam applicators. Megs hyper dressing and KC Motorplast are also dressings I use on plastic and trim depending on the part.
Pretty sure the issue is the consistency of the Diablo. I poured mine into a different spray bottle and it would only stream whether I had it on stream or spray.
Diablo is one of the only chemical guys products that i thought was a complete miss barely cleans wheels even with heavy scrubbing. Their tyre kicker tyre shine tho dope as fuck.
Question if I had 200 dollars to buy stuff to wash and clean my car, what would you buy, beginner here so im guessing soap to wash the car then coat then clean my wheels, and interior cleaning For cloth, plastic ?
Interior cleaner(blue) works great on navigation screen and VRP for my favorite products from the chemical guys. Josh the MJJC foam cannon do you know the shipping cost I’ve been finding out when places orders shipping cost was $25 and higher. Great channel keep the videos coming!!!!
An honest question. Are there people who only need to spray on and hose off a wheel cleaner without the use of a brush? I am guessing it is for people who barely drive their cars? I have always had to use a wheel brush or wash mitt to clean them.
Cant wait to use my mjjc foam cannon I purchased from you last week . I suggest anyone in the market looking for a foam cannon buy one from this man! Thanks for all the advice and knowledge you give us

They all get similar foam production (which is much more than any of the others). My favorite is the MJJC. I love them so much i import them and sell them on my site. The MTM and Griots go between $80-100 normally. The Mjjc is $70-80 depending on where you buy it.
My question coming into this video is how does the grit guard fit in the bucket. It seems to have a wider base than your standard 5 gallon buckets. So is the grit guard loose on the bottom, or does it fit in snug?

Also it’s a bit cheaper to get this kit at Walmart. Last I looked it was around $40 there
That’s a completely different kit. That’s 7 piece with different products, this has better products and is a 10 piece.
@@tarikhaskovic6502 yeah I know that now. I didn’t realize it until Josh did the video comparing the 2 kits
Where can I get those wall polisher mounts?
How should I wash the microfiber towels n mitt after use?
Thanks Josh!
You bet!
Great video as always. Thanks Josh
how much did it cost to get your water deionized?
Oh yeah for my fellow detailers Walmart has their pastel color 5 gallon buckets in stock right now for 297 I ran back and grab me three other ones the other day I need to go back and get more because my colors are yellow and black with my business or black and grey so check them out if you get a chance
Thanks, ill try to pick one up and compare it
I bought 2 5 gallon buckets from there for $1.69 each.
what costco did you find this bucket deal? i went to 2 diff costco in wa state and not found this yet
Funny I just returned this.. my wife got it for me.. kinda expensive for a bucket and saop..
380 GSM on the Microfiber towels
can I use this wheel cleaner on a 24x14 chrome wheel without damaging the finish ?
Hey bro I had a guy washing my car for 25 bucks plus tip. I moved away and everyone here wants 80 or 90 a wash I just wrapped my car. My question is can you recommend a good foam cannon and car wash kit combo to do at home I have a model y tesla something to clean the seats also 🙏🏻 please
Present brother 💪🏼
I just checked Costco website and can’t find this kit, is it special to your location only?
Same bucket @ Walmart for 39.95
I’ve never tried their chemicals because like you, I use professional grade products. The kit would be a cool giveaway for our customers. Thanks for the video!!
What kind of soap do you use to wash cars?
@@pullingthestrings5233 we use a few different types. We private label our own soap now, but also use soaps from Entire Car Protection and also Gliptone.
It doesnt really make sense saying you havent used chemical guys products because they arent "professional" grade. Alot of professionals use chemical guys =/
@@olivernash1751 what pro would use an overpriced product made for retail to the general public? But hey… what do we know. All of our products are professional grade, not sold to the public, and are significantly cheaper. I’m not saying that the Chemical Guy’s products are bad, they are just too expensive. A 32oz bottle of our best APC costs around $0.65 to fill up at cost.
@@LavaGRAutoDetailing you do realise that most brands that are sold to the public make alternatively priced products for "professional" use. Autoglym meguires chemical guys mothers gyeon fireball basicall all of them do. Theres practically no difference just a label change and they come in 5-20 litre portions. =/
Can i use it by hand if i don’t have a gun?
What pressure washer do you use?
I've never understood why it's a big deal that they so many skus. No one is forcing people to buy them, just get what you want and be done with it, IMO
I think that the bottle that did not work correctly might have been the one you dropped.
What do u use for tire dressing ?
Must have gotten a bad batch of Diablo when I bought this kit. Mine doesn't clean squat.
It’s definitely more of a maintenance product. Agitation is pretty necessary to get good results! But it’s pretty safe for different types of wheels
What is the wheel cleaner you use in your business? I don’t see it listed in the description (sorry if I missed it there).
I use this as a safer option: Works really well
amzn.to/3qCv9Ni
I also use even more aggressive Malco Fast Shot. Works amazing, but harder to come by and it smells terrible
Great review and video!
As long it’s see through. I’m good
I like watching your channel. Should do a giveaway, would be cool
I am in North NJ and my costco doesn't have this at the location or online. Anyone know if this is limited to West Coast only or FL or anywhere else but Northeast?
Love this video. Wanted to know for your $55 kit, is it safe for all cars that are ceramic coated and rims that are powder coated black?
Great Video
I'm going to buy one of those! Oh wait I don't have a car 😅
Diablo bottle sucks, used it like 3 or 4 times and the sprayer stopped working. And the top part was hard to take off literally had to slam it on the floor to open it
Their wheel cleaner didn't do crap for me. Stuff that comes off with a wipe didn't come off with it.
You definitely want to agitate with it. I use fast shot or brake r a lot and this products cams just be sprayed on and rinsed off and 99% of the stuff comes off! But not the best for a consumer product since it could potentially damage
@@imjoshv what's your opinion of fast shot? It looks tempting, I know they warn you like it's gonna melt your face but I'm not concerned about strong chemicals. I'm trying to decide whether it's worth locating a dealer to get it.
@@joeschmoe6908 fast shot works amazing but it smells really bad! If you inhale it all you will be coughing. But I do use it cause it works so well
Great job, great video
