    Lots of CG trolls and no objective reviews. I've only got a few of their products and they work quite well. People need to keep their systems simple, no need to buy all of their products. Many detailers I've noticed only use a couple of products and learn how best to use them. Price is subjective.

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  6 ปีที่แล้ว +80

      I have to agree with everything you've said. I have been doing lots of brand reviews on my channel, as I'm not biased to only one company. I love trying products from as many companies as I can, and build my main arsenal with the ones I prefer. I have noticed that the CG products often get the most hate but rarely backed by concrete evidence. It's like the cool thing to not like CG... There are many good products in their lineup and if you take the time and learn how to use them properly (like any other product) you should be satisfied. We're on the same page on that one! ;)

      No ojective reviews? How about my friend appkying cquartz to his f80 m3 and after washing it over spand of 1 season with CG honey "ph neutral" soap there was pure water sheeting. Zero beading. To test this further iput it on my m4 carbon bits as car has frozen paint so i cant apply it to that. I used their matte paint soap and within 1 season there is zero water beading. So the ph neutral bit is total bullshit. They foam up very nice and clean super super well. But soemtimes too well. Ffs their matte jet seal gets stripped in one wash by their matte car wash soap. There are some good reliable products too like leather cleaner floor mat cleaner, air scents, leather balm and iron remover. If i had someone that sells carpro products near me id pick carpro any day over chemical guys. But again chemical guys is def way better than typical stuff you can buy from canadian tire.

    Their products are an odd bunch. Most of them are just re-hashes of the same product (which aren't that good to begin with) but you do find the occasional one that is actually quite good. Blacklight and Jetseal are the only ones that I will ever use. They don't last long but give pretty good results.
    On the up side, they do produce really good air sprays, that seems to be the only positive.

      I have to strongly disagree. Iv used best of the best from mother’s to even older companies products. And none of them come close to CG and it seems CG is climbing to the top faster then anyone could have predicted. Only thing I still use other then CG is mother’s mag polish now they do have the best polish for chrome bumpers and wheels.

      Read my comment above. Stay away from the Butter Wet Wax as it gave me bubbles that are all over the car and hard enough that they pull fibers out of any cloth you may think you'd like to use, including the soft side of a car cover!!!

  • @MichaelWarbux
    @MichaelWarbux 6 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    I love their Citrus Wash & Gloss soap. It has the most suds for a bucket wash. A lot of their soaps are terrible for a bucket. In my opinion, they're really watered down. The Stripper Scent is PHENOMENAL! Probably my all time favorite from any company. Nonsense is fabulous. I even use it full strength to clean my grill. The grease literally wipes away. Great video Pan!

      I'm not a CG fanatic but is that not the purpose to have many many products so you can choose and see what works for you. I've tried meguiars compound and does nothing to my car so I try a different polish of them and works well. Yes they do have a shit ton of products that basically might or might not do the same but that's when you have the option to choose what works for you.

    I love seeing the extreme similarities between these products, Adam’s, and other brands. The way they work and smell are often extremely close. The leather cleaner and conditioner is very, very similar. VRP and Adam’s VRT are exactly the same . Anyone who has ever used Griot’s Speed Shine can attest to the fact that it looks, smells, and performs exactly the same as Adam’s much-lauded detail spray. List goes on and on, I’ve always just found it interesting.

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  6 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      My understanding of the industry is that there are only a handful of actual product manufacturers. Then, major brands just do private labeling of the same product and often simply change the color, odor and some minor tweaks to separate them from their competitors, and then it's marketing from there on.

      CG is the first leather cleaning set I have used. Usually I just get the all n one stuff. Night and day difference. Not only does it totally revive the leather and make it seem more plush and smell good, but the cleaner got rid of a leather discoloration that has been in the back seat of a car I cleaned that has been there for years. Very pleased with the leather care.

  • @bakkid423
    @bakkid423 5 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    Just because CG has many different soaps, doesnt mean you have to buy them all. It gives you a variety of what you like. The fact you can buy honey dew, than when that bottle is finished, you have such a variety to switch up on. They all are similar but do have different shines and smells. Some foam better than others too. I have alot of products from CG and tested many of the products.

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yup

    • @sharleneblock4888
      @sharleneblock4888 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thats why they have so many products because different people have different wants and needs. Some like the silk and shine because it leaves a natural shine and some like the G6 hyper coat dressing for high shine finish. The thing is with Chemical guys they have so many products because they have different customers in mind. Me I like my car to shine, sparkle even if I can get it to do that. My husband on the other hand likes a more matt look or natural new car shine. So I have to buy the two different dressings to make each of our cars how we want them to look. So I took some time did some research with each product found the ones that we needed to match what we want as an end result. I actually find I enjoy the selection for different peoples tastes. I have to say thats not a gimmick but it is seeing people have different tastes in their cars looks.

      Half of what you mentioned is NOT legit lol Butter wet only lasts a month if that, Collinite845 works 10x better and lasts closer to 6 months . VRP is Okay . Jetseal only last 2-3 Months . They're V line series of paint correction is one of the worst problems in their lineup . Menzerna, 3D, Sonax, & Jascar all make better products most for less money . Their soaps do well though .

    • @weaverdetails4747
      @weaverdetails4747 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Solo J Who argues longevity in a show wax? It takes minutes to apply and that is the beauty of it. Jetseal in my experience on my vehicle that is parked outside I’ve gotten six maybe 7 months of protection and my vehicle that is in the garage has lasted a year. Apex detail has a vigorous testing of the V line of polishes you should check out. There are superior polishes out there but they can be more costly as well. Chemical guys Fa life!

    Thanks Pan for the good review on CG products. I can personally attest to the great performance of their Glossworkz shampoo. I use it on my black ceramic coated 370Z with a concentration of 1 oz per gallon of water for the contact wash and it does an excellent job. The wash really shines in my foam gun where I use it at a mixing ratio of 4 oz product to 28 oz of water in the gun's reservoir. The levels of gloss, slickness and repulsion of dust and dirt are unmatched by any other soap I've used.

    So far the few ( and I mean few ) products I have tried from CG seem to be pretty good. The part that sux is that they have so many products that are alike that it confuses one. Ive tried a couple of their products and im not biased as ive got my hands a pretty wide variety of company products starting from Turtle Wax to Armor All to Ammo NYC and CG.
    The CG have some decent stuff. That Speed Wipe with the cherry scent has had me pretty happy the times I've used it after a wash and some minor dirt has gotten onto my vehicle. I have a dark red chrysler 200s and this detailer spray works great. Ive used turtle wax black detailer on it too and had some good results from that as well. Other CG products that I've tried are the V07 sealant (its ok. Nothing special) the interior new car smell air freshener. I just ordered the honey dew snow foam along with Mr. Pink to give it a full wash this weekend.
    The only AMMO NYC product I've managed to try because Larry's stuff is kinda expensive but worth what ive tried in the hydrate spray. Larry is also someone im always constatly watching along with Pan.
    Not brand biased at all but the hate on CG is real apparently for some weird reasons that often from what ive read in these comments arent even about the product itself lol
    Speed Wipe is legit amazing for me. I hope Mr. Pink and the Honey Dew Snow Foam work out too.
    But the rest of this line up is interesting. A lot of products with some that have different levels of how it works which can be confusing to most buyers. Wish they simplified that a little bit more.
    Glad you did a breakdown of their products and it helps me out in deciding what to get next and try out.
    Thanks Pan!

    *Citrus Wash and Gloss will strip wax. Their advertisements say that it is not pH balanced and is on the acidic side.
    That being said, it is still a fantastic soap I have been using for a couple years. I switched to a neutral soap that won't erase my wax so I can keep building layers of protection with each wash, rather than stripping it every time. Again, it is still a great soap and probably the best of their soaps that I have used. It's slicker than any other soap I have used.

    Just a note for my fellow Canadian Customers. I personally have probably a few grand or so worth of various car care products. I do in fact own a lot of chemical guys items. I'm not overly fond of them. Except for the Honeydew soap. I purchased the maxi suds ll on Amazon to try. Not sure if I got a bad bottle or what. But no matter what it seemed to leave a film that affected applying (and smeary drying) any kind of detailer or wax. I've never experienced this with the Honeydew. So I contacted CG CS. Long story short. They refused to stand by their product becuase I was not in the USA. CG products are on the shelves everywhere around here. And Amazon of course. So why are we not treated the same way when there's an issue? We are all customers who spent money on a product that was sub par. A rep (initials R/T) informed me that had I been in the USA he could offer me a replacment product of my choice or a refund as a courtesy. But because I was in Canada there was nothing he could do. So this is just a word of caution for anyone spending their cash on CG products within Canada.

    I've tried their synthetic instant detailer. I found it worked fine but didn't really add much to my current arsenal which is primarily optimum and opti-coat line products.

    I tried CG Headlight Restorer and, while it works, it cannot remove all of the defects from a bad headlight, so you have to wet sand first . A harsh compound such as Meguiar's #4 would probably do the same job since the protection left by the CG product is minimal anyway .

      If you are detailing you should be a little nitpicking. But let’s be honest, the shampoos are decent, the scents are great, the cleaners, detailers and the sealings are really poor. For example JetSeal is easy to use but the beading/sheeting is poor AF. You can buy a can of Wax (like Fusso Coat) for half the price and it last a lifetime, plus the beading is insane. I’m not hating, just saying the truth.

    I have asked this directly to Chemical Guys, but I want another perspective. If I understood this correctly, when you do a buff and polish job and you want to apply a ceramic it is the last step taken; there’s no need to apply a wax or any other sealants after the ceramic. But Chemical Guys told me that the Hydrocharge and Hydroslick is applied after the V38 polish, then the Wet Mirror Finish, then Jet Seal, then Butter Wet Wax. Why all those steps after Hydroslick if that is suppose to provide the protection?

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I wouldn’t recommend the Hydro line really. Those aren’t true ceramic coatings. The HydroSlick barely lasts a month or so in my testing.

Well but going back to the subject...lol. We have swaped messages on youtube a few times already but of course it is almost impossible for you to remember as like you said, you've got over 100k subscribers. My dream is to live in Canada.
      Hope we can keep intouch and that I can learn more and more from you.
      Regards.

    I use CG synthetic detail spray and satisfied with the product. Kind of funny, I gave a bottle to my Lieutenant at work.

      Pan also sir..what in the world do you do with all those chemicals that are reviewed by you. I mean you've reviewed at least all the popular ones like Angel Wax, Gyeon, Meguairs and on and on?

    Does vrp is a good product to apply on exterior black trims ?

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You could, but there are way better products for exterior black trims, like this one: amzn.to/2UEmXi9
      Dilute it 3:1 for use on exterior plastics, 1:1 for use on tires.

    Hi Pan - thank you for yet another informative video - I appreciate it. For a car with Ceramic Pro H9 coating, which shampoo would you recommend - Glossworkz Gloss Booster or Gyeon Bathe Shampoo? Thank you.

      They’re both great soaps. Just go with the lowest priced one or the one easily available to you.

    Thank you for your video on such a fine product.. I would like to focus on two of the products that I've used , chemical guys butter wax and the tire kicker shine......... The butter wax is amazing, producing a wet-look high gloss shine, and any fine hairline scratches are covered up....... The tire kicker when it's first applied goes on very wet looking, but after a couple of minutes it tones down to more of a satin shine , it also clings to the tires very well , even at 55 mph on the highway ,as were a lot of other products that I have used in the past would spin off the tire and make a mess on the side panels of the car..... Just to great products from chemical guys that works very well for me 👍

    Their only product I use is silk shine, but I cant speak enough about it. Long lasting, perfect low shine, great smell, and if you're not afraid to use it up, i love the satin shine it gives tires.
