I saw Steve perform this song at the Marquee Club in 1978 and actually got to meet him and the band backstage after the show. I'll never forget. Got their autographs, the hurdy-gurdy girl cured my corns, and Steve turned my Fuller's London into sparkling water. What a night! The Legend Grows.
beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. most people don’t know there’s more to music than mainstream BS. be glad we and Steve crossed paths in the first place!
Steve Hillage such a brilliant multitalented musician the guitar behind almost every big Punk group in the UK including the Sex Pistols Live playing Guitar/Bass Double Neck
He was much bigger in Europe , than in Britain. The true talented grit got always pushed aside over here. I could name a hundred guys or bands that you never heard of ….
@@jaycee30865 Cardi B. Hmm! Wasn't it her that admitted to drugging and robbing her punters in her previous life as a t**t? As for musicianship the only thing that she is expert at is blowing the one eyed trouser snake.
I saw the Steve Hillage Band in Manchester, round this time, excellent and quite different! In more recent times (actually the last 30 years!!) I've thoroughly enjoyed Steve and Miquette as System 7 - also pretty unique!
I do not recall seeing an ad for or even hearing of Steve Hillage ever playing in either New York or Boston. What a great band! And with Clive Bunker, too! Sorry to have missed them. Got to see Mr. Bunker, though; at Tanglewood, 1970.
I saw this man at the Rainbow .. Seven sisters road back in 1977!!... There was electric strikes and it was a bloody weird time.. But all was fooking amazing... Wow.. Happy bloody dayz... I'm flying on an green on...
Wow, a real hurdy-gurdy, modular synths, and Clive Bunker on drums! What a shame this lineup didn't last longer, but I suppose the nebulous hippie ethos behind it meant that the lineup would never be permanent.

What an amazing guitarist! I love Steve Hillage's optimistic energy.
Steve always seemed to issue a positive, smiley kind of vibe wherever he went. Unusual guy.
How is this guy not a legend???
He totally is!
He is for me! I loved the L tour!
Nicki Minaj is the legend.
He and everything Gong related is all legendary 98% of most people just listen to radio music or hot topic music

Saw him on the L tour at Birmingham Odeon. He was certainly popular in Brum!
About the best guitar player not many heard of
Khan is so good.
Wow! This is the first time I’ve checked out Steve Hillage and damn does it NOT disappoint! Thanks!
Proper musicians. Steve is such a free player he just flows effortlessly.
He’s good but cardi B is a better musician.

@@myoldmate is like to be able to admit that I saw her and everyone like her get thrown into a branch chipper.
This was the first band I saw live, at the City Hall Newcastle. It was out of this world, thanks Steve.
I was there !!! 1979. I was a student in South Shields at the time !

I might not remember each individual trip, but I know that some involved Steve Hillage gigs solo and with Gong.
I've bought a Kurzweil K2500 that belonged to him.

Looks like Clive Bunker from jethro Tull on drums. That’s wild.
Yep, that’s him. I was just reading the liner notes of L, and it said he was part of Steve’s touring band.
Magnifique

OOOooohhh the layers in this.. sublime.. :)
God in a woolly hat.
Nice to see him playing the strat instead of the Les Paul.
This is the same year as punk, though you'd never know to look at this!
Organic static
Good thing Johnny Rotten never saw this, his head would've literally exploded from his outrage.
mágico!!!
Vielen Dank fürs teilen!

I was listening to him in my mushroom days.
I think I just had a flash back!
I might be mistaken but didn't Utopia play on the studio album?
They certainly did!
The 2nd guitarist is Dave Stewart!
Just for Don this is Steve Hillage
cool!!
👌👌👌👌👌👌👍👍👍👍❤❤❤❤❤❤
Fuck yeah!
Like Rush and Halkwind, but more chilled. Strong influence to bands such as Ozric Tentacles
Ozriiiic!!!
Is that Miquette on hurdy gurdy?
Steve’s solo material resonated with me much more than Daevid Allen’s Gong stuff, which I found too silly for my liking.
Green album is the top of SH album
Amish hippie band?
Annoying video counter.
