@@asiyah7714 Well in his defense, if you never had to before in your life, it's not as self explanatory as you'd expect it to be ;) He had the right idea when he started using the key.. except he had it upside down, so he'd get it stuck against the tin rather than it being able to turn easily.

Corned Beef cans are opened with a key and are pure evil. You risk the metal strip breaking, or cutting your hand in the razor sharp edges at every turn!

Next one will have 2/3s of the components not make it to the final plate, and nobody will rate themselves above a 3, except Mike, who will rate himself a 9 for stirring something that doesn't get added.
The series of reactions when James compliments Barry really shows how much respect Barry has for James. First, when James compliments everybody Barry is so excited he's pumping his fists. Then, at the Hummus compliment Barry just takes a second, closing his eyes, basking in it; while Jamie smiles for his mate. Then, right when he mentions corned beef Jamie grins bigger and looks at Barry as if to say, "It's all you, mate." Barry is almost suspiciously subdued there, nodding in acceptance of the compliments while not giving anything away (like with the fist pumping). It comes down to Jamie to point out that Barry did all of that, and Barry's so chuffed with that. It's cool to see these genuine, happy, uplifting moments. Made my day that much better. Kudos, gentlemen.

I love that moment too! While we all love at their silly decisions it's really nice to see these great moments too. All of them get ragged on too often for small things in the comments haha.

A but obvious on the bulge on the can and the smell that can penetrate the can
@@corndoghead1 The bulge is somewhat brand-specific, and also slightly varies from batch to batch.
The "smell that penetrates the can", it actually doesn't, but usually a can or two in the stack is leaking and it lingers for months (so anything leaking in the entire handling process and everything will smell like surströmming) - can be washed away with some water and vinegar (or just brew coffee nearby, it will mask the lingering scent).
A pass it on with a 'mischevious' Jamie.
The other four do a pass it on as normal, except between each of them for like 2min - Jamie shows up, eats something adds a dish element, hides something . so he can either help or hinder the dish along.

Every single time, Ben walks in and immediately, unconciously, clears away all the clues left for him
I feel like Mike, more than anyone else, consistently tries to leave hints, and that's really sweet
Theme: Kid's Menu. You must create a dish that a child would be willing to eat at a restaurant. One of the judges will be an actual kid. If they don't like it, the whole dish fails despite the vote.
Order: Who can hit the highest note without their voice cracking, from lowest to highest.

Yes! Might I just add: they shouldn't let one of their kids to judge because they most likely know their kids' tastes.
They'll have to do it on a weekend so Tyrone isn't up late on a school night. Ben wouldn't approve of that for his son
1. Barry - I mean for once his ideas made it to the plate, didn't ruin it and were complimented, (except the tin opening...)
2. Ben - Got Mikes hints, and was consistent with Ben's role on these videos.
3. James - I mean, I feel bad for putting him at 3, because he did good, but considering his placement and the fact Barry did something good, it's probably where he should be.
4. Mike - I hate that Mike always underscores himself in these. In the 29 episodes he has scored himself the least by 18 points total, which really isn't fair. He panics when he goes into the kitchen and wastes time but usually doesn't make a big cock up like Jamie or Barry sometimes do. He decided on the beans, and whilst he didn't get far, he got it started.
5. Jamie - his potatoes didn't get used and his pumpkin lay there a while. The oil for the onions didn't heat and there were a heap of unused cans left. I mean again it's harsh because I think usually his performance would be around the 2/3 range, but everyone did well today.
Stats wise. Out of everyone Barry has gone first the least and Mike 3rd the least and James has now gone last more than anyone else.
So idea wise - Since Mike seems to lack some confidence in these, I suggest that he takes control, he goes first and have the theme undefined. Not to be nasty, but hopefully to show that he doesn't deserve a 1/10. I mean he's never made a cloud egg!
They all did well, so I get why it was difficult to rank their efforts. But your justification of your order makes a lots of sense. And I really hope Mike stops being so hard on himself. As you said, he never made a cloud egg 😄
The "Only the one going first will be told what the dish is", but Mike will be told to cook whatever he wants.
This is one of the best PIO I've seen. Nobody panicked, everybody did something, and the dish was simple but tasty. Now I need to go try Barry's butter bean hummus!

Once again Barry is doing so much better lately in these challenges. He has gone from cloud eggs to being arguably the MVP in two challenges straight so far. I thought it was brilliant to make hommus, one of the best things to make from canned foods, as a base for the rest to work with. His can opening skills could use some work though.
The fact that we haven't gotten an unedited clip of Barry trying to open that can in real-time is almost criminal.

You should introduce scoring in the new season: if it's a PASS, the points you gave yourself get added to the score, if FAIL, they get deducted. So if you score yourself high but it will be a FAIL, you loose more points.

very good, there should be some way to "use" the points, potentially like for X points you get to write one word on this sticky note, for Y points you can get more time with a random person, for 2Y you get to choose the person for 5(X+2Y) points you can add in another turn for a random person at 10(X+2Y) points you get to choose who goes twice, etc.

Before they do something like this again, can someone, FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY, Please give Barry lessons in how to open cans - especially corned beef!! I was watching some of that through my fingers!!!
I want to see Barry opening, or at least attempting to open, a Fray Bentos pie. They are notoriously tricky.
Those tins are razor sharp. He's lucky to have escaped injury. I could barely look! But I suppose that is what panic looks like; I'm sure that under normal circumstances he would have figured out how to place the key so that it had room to turn.
Not quite watching through my hands but flinching in preparation for the blood? Definitely. For the love of all food, use a tin opener on both ends and just push the blasted thing out! The key opener only worked when there was a higher fat content and it was therefore more solid. I haven't been able to get that stuff for well over a decade!
Okay okay okay, not only does it look amazing, and from the reactions from the guys, it also tastes very good.
This is THE best performance EVER from Barry, and he should be given a 10 for this!! He controls the kitchen, the direction of the dish, what he makes is quality, and he doesn't leave any hubs on that aren't being used!!!

After watching their video where they demonstrate that canned or tinned foods can sometimes be as good as if not better than fresh ingredients which goes against the perception of tinned and canned foods and seeing them celebrate these products by using as many as possible was very interesting to me. I particularly found it interesting seeing Jamie identify how the different elements work with each other and communicating that there’s no texture change and rectifying that was cool for me because seeing how tinned food can be combined with fresh food can make a delicious end result

I'll be honest, I was wincing waiting for Barry to shred his hand on that tin the way he was carrying on.

barry wrestling with that can reminded me of the old adage "nothing is foolproof, to a sufficently talented fool" the turn key can opener is incredibly hard to not understand, but barry found literally the most dangerous way to do it incorrectly!
Do a "Make do"-weekdinner, any classic recipe, but take out one main ingredient and make do with what you have!! Bolognese without spaghetti? Pizza without tomatoes for sauce? How can I ever save & put a twist to this?
Another one of these, but you remove the labels and you can only open a limited number of tins which you have to use no matter what.
Let chaos ensue!
You should do a “Leftovers Challenge” for the next Pass It On!! The leftovers could range from homemade meals to takeout!

Mike is such a legend. I love his attitude to the challenge the most. I admire him more and more. Jamie is so honest, love it. Im in owe of Ben of course as always, such a foodie Sheldon. Barry has the fun factor all the time, without even trying! I love that. But im a hard-core James fan, always will be. BRING HIM BACK!

As someone who's discovered and then binged the entire contents of your channel during this pandemic, i hate to have to agree with Barry, you all have gotten better at this. Bravo!
So now you need to step up the game, and get even better. Do harder & longer (shut up, Ben) dishes, and double up the relay so each person goes TWICE. Curveballs would be good too, and i'd love to see you guys implement the shock collars into this one somehow.
