The movement you have is amazing! I'm relatively new to the game and I'm not very good with combat. Whenever I try orbiting a target I always end up flying into them or at least closer then I'd like to be.
TY! Exactly what i needed to. Didn't want to make a meta ship for some acpect of gameplay and made already a crusader, which was...too slow and thick for xeno hunting. But a challenger, with some little my own changes in current build for granting more comfort to non exp-keyboard and mouse player like me, would be fantastic!
Thanks for addressing the cosmetic options (lack of). This might be my favourite ship, especially because its looks are cool AF. But the kit is poor and lazy (as in most of the ships), and why the hell are not more paint jobs for it? I stopped playing ED since more than 6 months because I hadn't internet in my home. So I don't know if now there are more cosmetics for this ship. I wish they remade most of the kits, or added more kit options. Being only 38 ships for the entire humanity (which is absurd), we should have many more cosmetic customizing options. I don't know, reverse wings (an anaconda or a DBX would be glorious with reverse wings, instead of making everything like an arrow tip), lights, to choose the size and color of the decals and free placement... A basic paint job tool would be great, but I know that the micro transactions are a thing here (and I understand it in this case). Maybe is a stupid issue for many, but I think that they could do way cooler designs instead of the current ones. I find atrociously ugly 2/3 of the ships in this game. I see the designs in Star Citizen and I get so jealous! But the designs are how they are. I just find frustrating that they at least could release more kit options to personalize more our ships and make them more cool. (Maybe I am alone here...) PS: please forgive my awful english o7
Love the video - I’m a big fan of the Challenger. I’m curious as to why you decided to fit a class 6 cargo rack and no shields? Big respect for the FAoff flight skills by the way👍😃
shields are a bit of a pain to manage in AX. a damaged shield draws power from the sys capacitor and so can leave you unable to fire heatsinks, heatsinks are by far the most important defensive tool in AX so better not to run shields. 64 tons of cargo allows a lot of limpets to be carried :) but you will find that most AX builds are shieldless
@@Citizen_Kate I don't know if you'll read this: I know that you are probably going to tell me that it depends on the ship, the technique, and the thargoid class, but how many heat sinks do you use, lets say against a cyclops and doing cool orbiting? How many would be required? I was going to ask you about the limpets too, but I guess it depends on the ship and its hull. Every limpet weights a ton, isn't it? So if you are carrying many limpets, it affects your mass, therefore your agility, right? How many of them you usually use? Please forgive my bad english.
EPIC!! just started ax hunting and just found your channel no other channels needed! absolutely epic, now the real question what do i get? i started in a krait and nearly killed a cyclops on my second day got 3 hearts, then escaped with 3% hull. was going to go to cheifton now not so sure. probably the only person i might consider being a patreon too.
You're past the Krait stage. It's for absolute beginners and experts 😁 You'll find evading Cyclops using heat management and agility far easier in the Chieftain. Also, really don't take shields. It gives you too much to think about, too much to worry about and too much to do. Use 1,1, 4 pips for maximum firepower and least heat
Besides the formation, is there any other way to determine if the swarm has entered the agitated state? Sometimes they'll pass very close but not all the way around and they'll still get agitated, but not every time...
Brillant vid and amazing skills, kudos. I Love thé challenger for its wider slots /options and hardpoints, but do AX with à chieftain because of its supérior speed. Your idea of getting a light armor and less reinforcements to gain speed is new and interesting to me. Anyways, thanks again and u got urself a subscriber.
Damn good video! I suck in cold orbiting still, tho i dont like the Chiefy/Chally that much due to their unique rolling out pitch. I have damn nice progress with my Mamba, cool reboot shield ram strat, works well even on Medusa.
hello very interresting as usual but although the flight assist off, the flight is smooth. Do you use joystick, hotas, or keyboard and mouse and for the right one do you have a sensitivity curve dedicated to the control item or there is only practice
I use a VKB Gladiator NXT stick with Thrustmaster TCWS throttle. I dont use curves but i kow some sticks do require them, like the X52. Practice though is what makes all the difference. everyone is bad at FA OFF to begin with :) stick with it though it will improve over time
Hey, You didn't engineer the FSD (probably because you are moving around in FC), but what would You recommend? Also, since, I'd have to jump to the Thargoid Conflict Zones manually I had to put in a fuel scoop and I'm not sure should I remove 2nd class Guardian MRPs or 3rd class? I'd prefer getting 3rd class, but I don't know the difference in damage your modules can sustain. Will it be much harder without Guardian MRPs?
Shielded fsd with double braced. You can transfer the ship to your AX base of operation, and its good enough for local hops. If you wana fly it with fuel scoop, transfer the module you removed out to your base and re-fit, but if you're gonna do that you may as well do the same with FSD... Point is AX combat is already marginal, especially for solo and/or people just getting into it - flying into AX combat with slots wasted on things like fuel scoop not really advisable.
Not sure if you or Will have encountered many high-intensity combat zones. But if you have, have you been up against spec ops? So far only in a wing can I take them. They are some coordinated S heads, they each target vital modules. Frameshift, thrusters, life support, powerplant. They took my Vulture down in less than 2 min.
Always follow the white rabbit. I mean: the green triangles on your radar. When spec ops are dropping on your head just boost toward the group of your allies and they will find new targets, then kill them one by one.
Is there any special reason why you never use a Xeno Scanner? I understand it's not required for success. But it could afford some benefit. Such as when using AX MC's on turrets. Being able to target a heart directly. Currently at least, I seem to have the greatest chance of success when using either an Anaconda or a Cutter. Maybe someday my flying skills will advance far enough to use a strategy other than just tanking lol.
When can we get the Kate COVAS on our challenger? Should this be an FDEV support ticket?
Always good to see the Challenger perform well. It’s a fav of mine! Good hunting Cmdr o7
The Challenger is a ship so many folks underrate.
You are one hell of a pilot 07.

What are your fire groups? It would be really helpful on these videos to see your setup if you don’t mind. Thanks and keep up the excellent content.
yes this is something i struggle with
Awesome AX combat skills
You make it look easy o7

Dedicated Mamba-Pilot here, but new to ax-combat...Would you mind, going into detials? built? cool reboot?

I think there is a mistake in the build, Kate, you put a collector limpet, not a repair one
ah lol yes, that isn't right :D thank you for brining that to my attention ;)

Great ship name Kate. 👏
My bounty Vulture is called NIMROD. My Krait is named Purple Nerple, it is my Xeno hunter.
What kind of control setup are you using?
Cmdr Kate can you please make a Crusader with AX SLFs review?
SLFs sadly don't work in right in AX anymore

Chally gang is best gang
We want more kate back in elite!!!
I can recommend some other channels that do the kind of tihngs i used to do, but for me no my time in elite is over i'm afraid
@@Citizen_Kate awww :(
chally gang
Did anyone ever kill a thargoid in a slf?
yes, I have a few times and a few other people too
@@Citizen_Kate well done, was it like only slf or using the mothership as well?
With your video I have learnt that my Challenger is fat and slow like a snail, time to take some weight off this whale, lol
