Had test ridden Himalayan and 390X back to back, same observations the KTM feels a lot more agile and confidence inspiring for city riding, but you will always have to be in the right gear in the KTM any time you’re in the wrong gear it’ll let you know just like in the video it stalled in 2nd gear. While Himalayan is forgiving in that regard, but doesn’t feel as nible or confidence inspiring or as “fun” as the KTM, in the city at least, where most of my riding will happen. I’m going with the KTM.
As an owner of a ADV 390 X It is for people who want thrill. There is no such thing as relaxed riding with this thing. It demands attention all the time. The bike's offroad ability is more than the capability of the rider in majority of the cases. Also the old 390 engine has been in the market for a really long time. It is niggle free, all issues are known and KTM service are able to service it well. All of this being said. I would buy the Himalayan 450 if I was in the ADV market. It is a new bike and more true to the ADV format.
Himalayan has better suspension than standard 390 adv. I did talk about wp apex adjustable suspension on sw and my choice, please watch the full video and let me know what you think.
Sir, while quick shifting, you dont need to leave the throttle
