This Himalayan never turned back on, it's been 4 days and now it will be sent back to Royal Enfield's plant in Chennai where they will try and figure out what is wrong with the engine (the service centre in Mumbai is clueless)!

The kms that the bike has driven shows around 240 kms.
And 1st service for this bike is done when the bike completes 500 kms or 45 days (whichever comes earlier) .
And for this 1st 500 kms the recommended Rev RPM is 4000 RPM (This is according to the official booklet provided by RE for the Himalayan).
And you did like 9000 RPM and tested this till the max.
So that’s why it refused to start.

That is not an excuse. How come a new Hero splendour willl not conk out no matter what you do but a heavily tested Himalayan goes dead. Besides with modern manufacturing techniques you can rip it from day one. Probably it is a quality control issue.

0:52 Circuit board is exposed so quality levels can be improved? Have you even taken a closer look at a LED headlight before bro? Take a look and comeback. Let's see if the circuit board is exposed on that.
12:30 Clutchless shifts happen sometimes and they don't work? What's this dude trying to say? This bike doesn't have a quickshifter bro. What's not working? You hand trying to close the lever?
Brother max throttles the engine like how my 5 year old cousin who twistes the throttle of my bike when the bike is off and then proceeds the call the bike unreliable.

One of my bikes had a problem with FI system which caused it to stay in SCs for months at times (in 6 months of ownership, it spent 4 months in SVC), and it was some retarded sensor at the end that was faulty. So at times it can be a bad product, at times it might be just a bad luck as owner. I feel sorry for RE and your fellow countrymen producing this motorcycle for the abuse and 'testing' I have seen on this and many other Himalayan test rides. Redline in neutral, zero to 150kph with poor clutch control, gear changes on full throttle or half a clutch use with a dragging hand to restore power and no machanical sympathy to highlight a few of these youtubers! Nothing I have observed has made me question my decision to order a 'tubeless Hanle Black' which will not be available for me in uk until march next year. I wonder if any purchaser of their own Himalayan will be mistreating their machines to this extreme as none of the professional RE launch reporters felt this need when riding in the himalayans.
If this 40hp/40nm engine is falling short for any buyer then perhaps a larger engine should be considered. I myself am making this my 'second bike' following on from 5 different bmw R1200's, one I still intend to keep (R1200RS SE) also japanese Kawasaki/Yamaha 1100, 1200cc engines.
I have never felt the need to use the redline engine rev limiter on any motorcycle as an override to poor technique, 'change gear reminder' when nearing the limit and doubt many motorcycle owners would mistreat their own machines to the level I have seen in the last 4 weeks. I am impressed that you are the first youtuber that has managed to break an new Re Himalayan which bodes well for the long term hopes I have for my order.

It’s not the reliability of the engine, as you try to start it, the self starter is not at all cranking the engine. So probably it’s not the issue of the engine, it’s because of some relays which won’t be working, not getting its ground at all. Or some sensors may be send wrong signals to the engine ECU. As you reved it so hard, even the thermostat would stop the engine to be started until the engine gets to its normal temperature. At least you should have checked it’s temperature, if radiator fan is not working , or low coolant level, or thermostat complaints may lead to this problem.
If the engine is cranking, still it’s not starting means we can complain the engine fuel line first, then it’s reliability.
Anyway I expect you to update the issue once it’s done.

Haha. I can answer that question. My fav topic for getting trolled by fanboys. Yes. The mobile needs to be on and the wifi drains the battery like hell. It's not just RE. Try casting your phone to a smart TV or your Windows 10/11 laptop. Test for 5 mins. You will come to know. On my KTM adv, I use my old Android phone as a gps navigator. I cast my phone through Android auto and Headunit reloaded app. I can switch my primary cell phones screen display off that way and keep the phone in my pocket where it is supposed to be. And it doesn't consume much battery. Unlike RE fanboys childish enough to argue that the bike comes with a charger. What's the point of wireless maps if you need to keep the phone wired to a charger? Bottom line, if you are buying the himi just for its fancy dash think twice.
