  • Most project managers don't have a step-by-step plan for motivation and leadership. Techniques from the best-selling books don't apply to real people on real projects. As a result, project managers rely on their gut feelings as it relates to motivating a team.

I bought that book and it is really cool. Simply not boring and most of all practical. Strongly recomended.

Thanks! I always say we do projects by the hands and brains of our teams. You need to help them reap the benefits of their hard work.

I thought it was "Slow is smooth, and smooth is fast" :)

It is. I was trying to put the Franklin Covey message and the military message together.
I bought your book. About halfway through - I read it in the car with a highlighter. Awesome! @@ITProjectManagers
I always love connecting strategy and tactical. Ergo - operational (practical) execution or management.
There often seems to be a disconnect - probably why there are project managers..

Hey Brother , I've been watching your videos since yesterday and your content is beautiful.
I was wondering if it will be a good idea as an IT PM to learn (Along with the PM tools) the BA tools like SQL, PHYTON, POWERBI, TABLEAU and even a basic understanding of UI/UX skills.
    Thanks.

These skills are nice to have in some organization. However, overall you, as a project manager, can have a bigger impact if you focus on project management, productivity and motivation.

The begging of the video sounded promising, but the rest was a bit off.
Only give additional tasks like reading books and making presentations in addition to the regular work if you want to make your employees feel miserable and increase stress levels.
Also about getting to know everyone - it's work. There is not always th need to build "meaningful relationships".

Studies show that people do need meaningful relationship at work. When they don't get it, they leave. And in most cases, they leave managers not companies.

Adding more meetings to an already overworked IT staff may backfire. They may consider these meetings frivolous. Alot of IT people are introverts and may not take kindly to a PM asking personal questions.
