I am not sure if you will ever see this comment, however i hope that you do. I have read some material and watched videos concerning project management, in hopes of trying to understand a subject that sounds so intriguing. Agile vs Hybrid and Scrum as well as other words and i still didn't understand what the hell is project management. Then i came across your video. Thank you Jesus. Finally someone who could explain this subject matter in a way that my brain could understand. The eye opener for me was the way you connected the Health care company with the project that you were working on. You made me understand the connection between the two entities. A project manager is someone who is a part of the constant refinement, innovation, upgrade and technical process that produces a deliverable outcome. The result can be measured by the organizations efficiency of administrative protocols and process, if that is the goal. I hope that makes sense.
I’m currently taking a big risk and pivoting careers. I’m going from an Operations manager to Project Manager. I want something challenging, fulfilling and rewarding! I couldn’t be happier to see your video. I took time to really get to know myself these last 6 months, and be comfortable with who I am- an organizer, a structured being, etc; Your cons didn’t scare me and that makes me happy lol. I’m excited to keep going! Thank you 🎉
Literally me! Operations management for the last 2 years has not done anything for me. Project/program management peeks my interest so Im going for my CAPM and PMP hoping my resume wont be a problem
@@trumoomoo It’s a standstill. I’m currently looking for someone to construct my resume, but I’ve gotten a head start on studying for interviews and I’m even thinking of going for my PMP
Loved the info! In terms of speaking, though, be cautious of your favorite filler words such as the word “right” because it was constantly distracting justtt a little. Besides that, thanks so much for the info as an aspiring PM :)
Such an insightful video!!! One of the best I've seen and I've been down the project manager and scrum master TH-cam video rabbit hole before I begin my certs so I know exactly what I'm getting myself into. After watching this video I am more than confident that this is the role I want to pursue now. Thank you so much for taking the time out to make this educational video!! New subbie :)
Thank you so much for this feedback, I’m so glad the video was able to give you some clarity. The role has it’s challenges but it is definitely worth it! Good luck with all of your certifications!😊
I like that you are a PM in Healthcare. One of the appeals for this job is how many different industries use PM's. What was your career trajectory? What did you do before being a PM?
That’s so true! I actually started doing projects in college. I’m a Delta, so I managed projects for my sorority, and was also an event programming intern for the student activities and involvement department. When I graduated, I was actually working at a middle school and started to do projects for them. Then I actually got into healthcare and moved up by taking on projects there. Eventually someone told me that I should actually get my PMP since I was already projects and so I did!
solid video, revealed some things i hadnt considered as i research this field in more depth. i don't think PM is the way for me to go (i really don't want to babysit and nag people to get things done), so i appreciate you saving me a lot of time and work. thanks for sharing your amazing smile, keep up the great work :)
Super Video! Thank you! Easy to understand. I really like listening to you, you communicate everything clear and your charisma is fantastic. Very informative. 5 Star Video
Hi Chrissy! This video just appeared on my main page and I'm so glad it did - I'm a new project manager (in title - I have about 10 years' worth of transferrable skills) and the transition from being a hands-on individual contributor to a facilitator has definitely been a "con" as I get used to it; I'm working through it though and I do love my role. I plan to follow your channel and learn more from your content - thanks so much and happy new year!
Hi Stephanie! Welcome to our little community on this side of the internet lol! I hope you continue to find the videos helpful! Congratulations on the new role, that can definitely be a transition but you got this!❤️
As a fellow PMP I found your video very good. There is only one thing I have to bug you about, schedule not plan. The project plan should be a separate document outlining the project intent. I am glad you mentioned the different personalities you have to deal with. I have worked under senior management that assumed everyone had to be treated the same, false. Although you listed this as a con, I find it to be a positive. This prepares you better for leadership roles in the future.. My final suggestion would be to learn the technical aspects of your projects as well. With many applications moving to the cloud, you want to know what hardware limitations you might encounter along the way and when they should be in place in your Project Schedule. Take care and keep up the good work.
I am not sure if you will ever see this but I love your videos. I really feel you gave me the inspiration to go for this career because I also have a healthcare background and a MPH degree. I would love to try PM in the healthcare field. Thank you keep up the good work. 🙏🏾❤️
Thank you so much for your support! I truly appreciate it! You should absolutely go for it, the projects you do in Healthcare have an entirely new and fulfilling meaning when they impact patients lives😊 It truly is rewarding!💕
Great video! As a TPM myself, I found the information to be concise and all related to the daily operation of a project manager. I haven't check out your channel, however talking about project matrix and the tools would be a great topic to add to your list of videos.
Thank you for this! I am almost done with my project management certifications course and looking to be a project manager by the EOY. this was very informative. ❤ if possible I would love to pick your brain more about this role!
No problem, so glad you found it helpful! Good luck on the course! I would be happy to speak with you, I do have 1-on-1 coaching calls and resume review sessions available on my website for booking.☺️
Loved this video! I was recently laid off from my Software Quality Leadership role in the Health Tech space. My role included managing Quality Engineers as well as the projects they supported from the QA side. Often times I managed projects that had nothing to do with my direct reports. Up to 5 projects at once. While my title didn't read as a PM, I'm hoping my existing project management experience holds weight as I pivot. I'm currently a Lean GB, SAFe6 certification holder and wrapping up the Google PM course. I look forward to learning from you during this journey!
By having a role of project manager, requires various skills to face challenges and situations. There are different benefits of having PM objectives. Project managers encounter risk throughout the project cycle. Good communication is the main key of project managers because they have to listen and understand their team confusions and problems and solve it on time. Project management helps to make managers more flexible and compatible. With this , they come to know about how to put the resources effectively so they can get better results and performance.
Hey Chrissy, Thank you so much for this content. I just sent you an email. Oh by the way, I'm also started by journey here on this platform almost the same time you did! I'm glad to be part of your journey.

in school currently abt to complete my associates degree for assistant pm / project coordinator, hoping to get a decent job with that and complete my bachelors :) i love $$$
I currently work in Finance for a consulting firm. I work in commerical support finance so i am currently working with consultants on a daily basis to manage their projects. I'm a somewhat recent college grad still figuring out my career path but project management seems interesting to me.
That’s awesome, it sounds like you should be getting some project management experience from this current role, make sure to take note of key projects, your role in the activities completed and accomplishments so that you can use that on your resume! 😊
Hi I am currently a junior in high school. I loved your video and I realized that I really want to become a project manager! I was wondering if you could share what electives or courses I should take to help me follow this path :)
Hi Aizah, thank you for watching! That’s awesome, not sure if your high school would have these courses but definitely in college, take course about leadership, management, business administration, business communication, public speaking, program implementation, risk management, organizational transformation, just a few examples, but hope this helps!!
May I ask what PMI chapter are you a member of? The chapter that I'm a part of in Pennsylvania doesn't really have representation. I want to see more black people.
I got an offer for an associate project manager for a pharmaceutical company, and I'm soooo nervous. I know I know I haven't started yet and I'm already feeling this way lol This will be my first role under the project management dpt, I'm a recent grad. I'm soooo scared that I won't be able to do the job or what if I will not understand my boss' or team leaders. aaaaaahhhhhhhh!!! Is it a hard job? any advice, please.
Congratulations on the new job! Don’t worry, you got this! Take it project by project and stick to the basics. Check out PMI’s process groups and knowledge areas and let it guide you through the process from initiation to close. Once you do more projects, you’ll figure out what processes are absolutely necessary and which once you can combine or pass on. But use it as a guide and plan ahead as much as possible. I also have some videos on my channel to help you get started. If there are other project managers, speak with them and see what they typically do and what tools they use. It can be a challenging job but it’s exciting and rewarding! You’ll do great! Good luck!💪🏾🥰

Well spoken and accurate depiction of “ Life of Project Management”

Can we have a count of how many times she said it, it was so much!!!
Agreed. I am a facilitator and it was very distracting, also agree with good information.
I counted about 82 times I have to listen to the video again haha but I also lost count probably like 20 times…82 is a conservative number
Yes filer was very distracting (with love lol) but the information was SOOO valuable, I couldn't turn off and continued listening.
