Thanks man this really helped my car was smoking and was leaking from the bottom I had my neighborhood machanic look at it he cleaned it up and now it’s not leaking any oil
thanks brother, i tried cleaning my oil sensor before buying a new one and yep it just needed cleaned out, thank for saving me the headache of pricey auto shops life saver
Thanks Sam, worked on my Mercruiser Mag 350. saved me from paying $165 for a new brass sensor from Mercury. Oh and the only aerosol solvent cleaner I had on hand was a can of paint gun cleaner - worked fine, then I used the little tube/straw to blow the diaphragm dry so the solvent wouldn’t be in there too long.
My mk5 GLI is having an oil pressure issue. Was given the wrong sensor today and had to return it for the correct sensor, only to find out the parts store doesn't keep them in stock... I'm definitely gonna try cleaning the old sensor and see what happens. Thanks for sharing this information!
Great video Sam 👍, almost all of the videos i've seen so far suggest replacing the sensor. I am having an oil pressure problem with my vehicle at the moment and i thought about cleaning the sensor just like you did. I'll see if it works in my case.
Good info-I gotta ask: is your right hand taped up because of a injury? When I was still working on locomotives if I cut/injured my hands I would do the same thing-wrap part of a blue work towel on it and tape that sucker up and keep getting it....
Update: about 6 months ago, the oil pressure gauge started fluctuating again. Since I already had a new sensor, i put that in and the gauge has been steady ever since. Thats not to say that recleaning the old one would not have fixed the problem too.
It’s been 5 months and the cleaned oil sensor is still working perfectly.😊

Thanks for explaining the internals of the pressure sender, that's the information I was looking for

Great video. Thank you sir!
Sam… would BRAKE CLEANER be ok? Didn’t know if that’d be TOO STRONG or not!
@@DavidsVoices1970 probably. But I never tried that.
Great job man
Gonna give this a shot. Thanks, brother!

I broke my little finger in a hang gliding accident. So I buddy taped it for about a month to help it heal. It’s fine now.
Ignore the "low oil pressure" and only be concerned with the "oil level low."
About to do the same on both of my LS engines. Both have the same issue at 160-170k miles.
Awesome video brother, i appreciate it
Awesome 👌 I give 5 stars 🌟
Can I use carb cleaner?
