I installed a new one and it only shows a reading when the engine is off and acc power is on then when you start the engine it show no pressure and the oil light is on.

I have the same problem in my vw polo 1.6 gt tdi . Noticed oil leakage suddenly from the very next day oil changed . This time i filled 5W 30 insted of 5w40 . Whats the cause of oil leak ?? Does the oil pressure swich damage or i have to change the oil with 5w 40 ?? Please advice

It should be on the engine block, near the oil filter housing, but seeing it is difficult because of the intake manifold.

Can it cause the coolant pressure gauge to fluctuate
