Hey this is Kristopher's brother and he asked me to let anyone who commented to know he is out sailing in the Gulf and will respond when he gets back. He really appreciates your comments.
Thanks for watching! And thanks for teaching my son it’s been great for him! I just wish he would’ve learned all this stuff before I did this work lol.

Thank you for watching! I just delivered another little Nor’Sea 27 across the Gulf of Mexico. I can tell you they are a wonderful little offshore boat.

Thanks Matt ! I have been sailing a friend’s little Nor’Sea across the Gulf o Mexico so I’m a bit behind o my own right now! Update video coming out next week!!
Thank you for doing this video. I am about to do the same with a small motor sailor I own. If I get you right this system will only give you about 15 minutes of powering at hull speed or less? Of course with a generator running and/or solar pumping juice into the batteries you can go longer? Again Thank you
Sorry it’s taken me so long to reply, but I do not actually have a diagram of it anymore. I wish I did. It would come in handy when I am now tracing through to add new components and stuff.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts and execution of a very well designed DIY SV electrical system. 👍 👏 LFP batteries are the only current battery chemistry I would consider because LFP’s (AKA LiFePO4) is not subject to thermal runaway and, as we know, fire is the major threat to boats when at sea (Fire, Flooding, Collision/Grounding). 😎
Awesome, congratulations on this success story!! I'm currently checking options to convert my Sun Magic 44 into electric. Looked into OceanVolt and Torqeedo. Very expensive. I can't seem FYI find your "electric yacht" brand (too generic to search). Can you tell me how you found them? Or share a link in the description to their site?

Great video thanks, allot of good stuff!!:) Just started to build a similar setup (but using two 10Kw Brush-less water-cooled motors instead. Posted my first episode showing motor housing design if you are interested. Keep the good videos coming:) Thanks!!

Thank you, Chip! Just docked in Tampa Bay. Flying home on Friday.
Awesome! Congrats. I bought all the components last summer. Still sitting on anchor afraid to try to get it all going.
The most intimidating part of the process is just getting started. Eat the elephant one bite at a a time 😊
Great detail on the actual wiring
Thank you!
Great job! Congratulations! Looking forward to performance tests in the water!
Thanks!!
Congratulations! My brain hurts trying to figure out all pathways from the house and motor banks!
Hurts me too!
Topher she looks amazing! You really have made her beautifully your own! How are you doing, how are the final preparations going?!

Hi! Thanks for watching. I give actual real world details about the use of the motor in episode 39. Hope it helps.
🎉… I know I’d be proud too if I pulled that all off on my own… great job brother
Thanks Jeff.
Great! Do you have a diagram of your connections and the detailed descriptions of the components that you have?

Thanks for watching Tony!
Cool! Congratulations, how much power have is this motor engine, and how much feet have your boat and displacement? All apears will work fine :)
10hp Electric Yacht QT10 motor 27ft 13000lb boat. Thanks for watching!

Since I just installed itI haven’t begun to think about my annual maintenance yet. I guess I would call Mark at electric yacht and ask him.
Thanks Bud ! maybe you will do update about electric motor !
Will do!
@@SV-Mignice maybe you will say some things what you did may be wrong maybe what can you do better? I will convert my Boat as well.
Would it be possible to install the electric motor on the shaft with the diesel engine still there?
There are some boats that do this newer boats. It would be impossible in this tiny boat.
Which motor did you install? Specs please or just put make and model, link?
Electric Yacht QT 10
Nice work!
Thanks!
Great job! Do you have a wiring diagram you could share
I looked all over and I can’t find it. I think I left it at home when we set sail.
Alright I've got to save this video for my installation, if you've got paper notes I'd love to make a scan of them.
you know where to find me lol
Nice!
Thank you! Cheers!
congrats!
Thank you so much!!
Motor cost?
The motor itself was around $5000. The real expense was the lithium phosphate, BB batteries.
Push up on the prop and see how much play or movement you have.
Oh yeah, I checked the cutlass bearing and we were good
Just imagine buying a 30 ft. Boat with 12000 miles of wiring .
Yeah, there was a lot here too. Much easier to just pull it all out and start over in my opinion but that’s just me.
Great video thanks, allot of good stuff!!:) Just started to build a similar setup (but using two 10Kw Brush-less water-cooled motors instead. Posted my first episode showing motor housing design if you are interested. Keep the good videos coming:) Thanks!!
Thank you! I will check it out. Thanks for watching.
Get a infrared thermometer and shot all your electrical for hot shots IMHO
Great idea! I’ll do that. I was planning on buying one of those and just having it on the boat anyway.
Bought my batteries when battleborn started at 1k each
Ouch!!!
