Electric vehicles don't just compete against each other. In the BMW i4 sedan's case, it's also compared against every gas-powered M car before it. With that in mind, the i4 has to serve two orders; performance driving and maximum range. The first it does incredibly well. The xDrive40 and M50 models shell out 396 and 536 horsepower, respectively. We actually give the i4 M50 credit for having better ride-and-handling than the M3, which is already one of our favorite high-performance sedans. In terms of range, the xDrive40 goes the longest of the i4 options with an EPA range of 307 miles. And it has decent DC-fast charging capabilities with speeds of up to 200 kW. The i4 makes for a comfy daily driver with excellent performance when the right pedal asks for it, but dull steering is an example of where technology has gone a little too far. Still, the i4 xDrive40 impressed us enough to add one to our long-term fleet for a 40,000-mile test and to make its way onto our 2024 Editors' Choice list. Finally, the i4 has a hatchback trunk, which gives it added flexibility when stacking cargo behind its rear seats.

To maximize the battery's life, use the following driving and charging habits where possible if you have an EV or are willing to buy:
1.Avoid exposing a vehicle to extreme ambient temperatures for extended periods.
2.Avoid storing a vehicle in temperatures below -25C for more than 7 days.
3.Avoid leaving your vehicle for more than 14 days where the battery available charge gauge reaches a zero or near zero state of charge.
4.Allow the vehicle and battery to cool down after use before charging.
5.Park/Store your vehicle in cool locations out of direct sunlight and away from heat sources.
6.Avoid sustained high battery temperatures (caused for example by exposure to very high ambient temperatures or extending highway driving with multiple quick charges)
7.Use the normal charging or trickle charging methods to charge the battery and minimize the use of public or rapid fast charge.
8.Moderate Driving.
9.Use Eco mode.

After so much consideration, my family decided to replace the 530e with a model Y (from overland automobiles fyi). The i4 and the model Y(long range) were the two options, but anyhow we went with the model Y over the i4 mainly because of the efficiency and the value for the money It's imported via a remittance permit so the price we paid were less than the market price. The best thing about this i4 though, is that it looks like a normal car. You'd never know it was electric unless you knew already or looked at the badge. That's how EVs should be going forward, but this is not a sports sedan despite the pretense.
Sure, it does drive better than a Tesla, but driving pleasure wasn't our biggest concern.
Germans aren’t just going to sit back and let Elon Musk corner the market, so they will improve over time and by then We can reconsider a BM :)

උදාහරණයක් විදිහට මන් මේ comment එක දාන වේලාවේ UK වල ඔය model එකේම car එකක් (2023 model year) brand new nearly £50K උනාට ~7900miles වගේ පැද්ද එකක් sell වෙන්නේ £39K වගේ.. තව කල් යද්දී ඔය ගාන adu වෙනවා මිසක් වැඩි වෙන්නේ නෑ...(according to auto trader )
