Boy you sure put a lot of complexities into this being single in old age deal. At 77 and widowed for 18 years now, I think at least for me, it is simple. I don't want someone (a woman) getting involved in my financial affairs, money, etc., and attempting to steal or negatively affect same in some way via the many legal ways that are available to women these days. That's it in a nutshell. I say no way Jose! 😀 PS: If you think some woman (new wife, girlfriend) is going to step up and take care of you like some nurse, dream on you fool!

67 and been single since I divorced my ex(you know why) 20 years ago.
What can I say? I have peace, quiet and I am financially very well off.
Aside from 3 holes, fee males have zero to offer.
I am 71 single and loving it , never been happier , work on yourself enjoy the things you like to do. So good to be stress free.
@fredking7419 .I whole heartedly agree only difference is im 81 still happy no one bitching at me , nothing but peace& quiet ,use your marrage licence for toilet paper .thats about all its good for.
Women are too much work! They offer very little that would benefit me and at retirement age all I want is peace and quiet. If I want female companionship then she can maintain her own home and I will keep mine. We can see each other when we want. Why should I live with her if i don’t have to?

I would like to point out something that seems to always be overlooked. Women age and also have health issues. You always hear that older men are looking for a nurse. Women experience health issues especially after menopause. Many men will become caregivers. I have personally seen these situations many times and can't recall how many men I have known who ended up caring for their wives. At present I know two couples and the husbands are caring for wives that now have dementia. One of the wives is only 62.

My wife passed away 3 years ago at 62 y/o, I’m done with caregiving, period. I never wish to take that role again since I did it for years.

Sixty eight years old, never married & childfree .
I've been divorced for almost 13 years and I'm having the time of of my life. I'm at the point in my life that it's "a wrap" for me (dating wise) and I don't want to complicate my life any further with marriage or a relationship. I spend my money on myself as I see fit and I run my household without any bothers or worries of someone coming in and disrupting that. I'm too old for relationship complications. Basically, I'm good.
same here at the women side ;) ... life is better without drama of immature men and their shortcomings.
61yr old male here also choosing to stay single. Reasons are simple. I've already had kids and they are grown. I've devoted myself to two long-term relationships including a 10yr marriage & a 23yr cohabitation. Now that both of those relationships are over there is no reason to put myself through that fem-drama ever again. Now in my later years I'm single & free to have a dog, a motorcycle, a place of my own and a bit of land I can call my own. I love my autonomy and my peace.
Men aren't intimidated by bossy women... They're irritated and annoyed by them.
Our society turned so litigious. Signing a business contract which is what a marriage is can easily drain a persons life savings and create an enormous amount of unwanted drama.
