Great topic Mark. Not only do you not have anything in common with her family or friends, those same people have no interest in having anything in common with us. As long as the wife is providing for them, they will not extend themselves at all to try and converse. I stopped trying to, im tired of others coming into my house and not having the decency to at least give me a greeting. It happens every time. Where ever I out, i always acknowledge the people around me. I guess this issue is cultural I’m told? I hate it

The issue might be that either you met the wrong woman/family, or you didn't spend enough time with them. I have found that Filipinos are not only friendly and warm, but also shy. You need to spend time with them and then slowly both sides get to know each other and feel more comfortable.

58, was married 15 years to a woman who never worked, and I made her dream of becoming an RN come true by putting her through nursing school. She met a doctor… left me three days after she got her RN degree, and took me to the cleaners in divorce courts. that was 14 years ago. I am now financially comfortable after a lot of hard work and I will never never never never never get married again. I date, but I am honest that marriage is off the table …as well as cohabitation. I'm 75. I've been divorced for 20 years. My ex walked out and left me to raise the kids. They're grown now and living their own lives. I sold my business and retired to France 7 years ago. I participate in many social activities here like hiking, wine tastings, food fairs, museum tours, expat dinner parties at different restaurants, and I meet friends for drinks at sports bars to watch soccer or rugby. I play golf, go sailing, and travel around Europe. I'm very content living alone; it's quiet, peaceful, and I can do whatever I want, when I want to do it. Life without a woman is heaven; no honey-do lists, no drama, no crazy mood swings, and no spending sprees on worthless crap like 200 pair of shoes.

The NO-FAULT divorce law in the U.S is the problem. If there is PROVEN domestic violence, alcohol and/or drug addiction, infidelity, unwillingness to work, etc. I can see a cause for a divorce. All it takes is for a woman to say that she in no longer happy and no matter how good a man is, she can file for divorce. The man will lose everything if he was the breadwinner (working two jobs and busting hiss ass off for his family), and she will walk off with hundreds of thousands of dollars and live the high life, meanwhile the man will have to start from scratch at 50 years old. The courts don't care if the man ends up homeless or dead. NEVER AGAIN!!!

I don't know if 46 years old is old, but I've been single for six years, and I prefer it at this point in my life. Been divorced, had multiple bad relationships. It's far easier with some pets, some friends, and doing things I like to do when I want, without restrictions. Don't really want to lose half of my stuff ever again and starting over again. Already did that twice. No need to try it again.

I've been married since I was 21 and I have had my turn. I must say I enjoy being single much more now. God is good. ALL the time.

I had kids at 20, 1 is dead, from war, the other barely speaks to me from divorce and his mom hating cuz I left her. So I'll never go thru that again.
Also at 54, sex isn't that important to me anymore. Had plenty and enough lovers to be content. Once you take sex out of the equation, having a woman around is a pain in the ass, and more expensive

As a younger guy I’m jealous of all you old men you guys had the largest percentage of good women. Ever since social media came for us younger dudes it’s been over since the 2010s. Theres no such thing as real “love” in this day and age it’s all financial and if the woman feels she can cash out on you she will divorce you in the USA. This is why men go overseas to Asia and South America and just deal with a variety of women and just find a woman to settle down with and not get the government marriage contract involved.

Idk if I'm an older man but I'm in my 30s and choosing to stay single. About 40% of women I've met through only dating are cheaters or lying about intimate partners they continue to have. About 50% of women I've met in person are also partnered and looking to cheat/escape their relationship. And then plenty are just milking you of your money/status and the ones who seem great care too much about your status or money. I live in one of the biggest cities in the world and that's my reality so I just stopped.

I lost everything too, almost including my soul....but the following scriptures helped me "see the light" concerning sexually immoral women.
She will hunt for your precious life
She reduces HIM to a crust
She is his ROTTENNESS to his bones.
She is MORE bitter than death.
She is odious, meaning she incites HIM to hatred.
Her ways are changeable so that you cannot know them.
Her heart is nets and snares and her hands as bands. Those who please the Lord shall ESCAPE (FROM) her.
She eats and wipes her mouth, and says I have done no WICKEDNESS.
