There’s some hesitant optimism that it’ll be out next year, 2021, but since GRRM has said ‘it’s coming out in 20XX’ before and it didn’t it’s not definite. Idk how it takes a whole decade to write a book but it better be good
@@emilybarclay8831it is 2024 and the book is nowhere in sight. 2028 is being optimistic now…. You sweet summer child; you thought 2021 was a possibility…. LOL
at first I was wondering why Doran was sending his children out to fail but now I'm thinking that he's waited a bit too long and he's got no choice anymore
Quinn and LML keep saying Arianne is cunning... but she lost every cyvasse game she plays (foreshadowing) and fixes on her dragon piece. I see Dorne ending up in a horrible situation thanks to everyone but for Sarella.
I feel like maybe Arianne and Dany May have a squabble. Not a cringe one like Sansa / Dany in the show. But with reason. Like Arianne might acuse Dany of being a liar: killed quentyn and calls fAegon an impostor etc etc
It what I was thinking about more recently, it almost is like Arianne storyline was consumed for Sansa Stark in the show like they turned Sansa Stark into Arianne so Arianne will have a similar storyline
@@Henbot that’s what I thought too- it’s funny b/c Arianne comes across like such an air head with the way she thinks about Dany’s story - terrible pick of story merging just for the sake of filling up gaps.
Can I just say that I super appreciate that you and Quinn don't have a blanket, automatic hatred of the female characters and their storylines. I think I spent too much time shitty 4chan GoT threads* that I find all this really refreshing. Appreciate your guy's work! Keep it up! (*my mistake, I know)
Your welcome, and I know what you mean. I'm sure I speak for Quinn as well when I say that we just like good characters and aren't blinded by sexism, so we don't miss all the good female characters. I'm overdue for more Brienne coverage tbh
I can understand Doran's hesitancy so well. I've had moments pass me by because they weren't perfect, only for nothing better to ever come again. The blood orange is passed ripe
Barristan will only be where Daenerys is. And it will be hard to get Dany and Doran together in person. Some people actually think Quentin is still alive. Would be interesting but so unlikely
Barristan I think is the betrayal for blood. Like when he thinks rhaegars son is alive. Doran told Arienne to stay out of the golden company thing if there’s no dragons. I think he will keep Dorn out till the dragons arrive
YES! I want to see what she's up to and if Doran sent her to Oldtown for a reason. With Euron probably on his way there, though, I'm concerned for her safety.
@@sebastianmunozochoa1485 I think Sarella will eventually shoot/kill the dragon Dany loses through its eye w/her golden heart bow. Or, she'll shoot Euron in his "crow's eye". There's gotta be a reason George showcased her archery skills, hitting small targets moving through the air w/deadly precision...
Is it me or is it fAegon is likely having his own "The Bachelors" Show. His currently the most important single guy in the continent right now and alot of major players would probably want to push their daughters to him. Like example we got: 1) Arianne Martel - heir to Dorn 2) Sansa Stark - the last known key to the North and even possibly the next lady of the Vale 3) Shireen Baratheon - by the right of his father making her the heir to the throne. 4) Margery Tyrell - this is nit picky. But their are possibly that Tommen will die eventually. 5) Cercie - Yes she's an old cuch. But she's still balls to the wall in love of the concept of an silver haired prince. Imagine seeing Young Griff for the first time.
@@bmabhilash01 I'm talking about medieval political practices. Nobility marriage back then was never been about love. Its mostly about political agreement and alliances. Of course Aegon would say no. But if certain events would occur and his cause would badly needed of some sort of agreement on the opposition or etc. His council and the others would consider this options.
I see it ending in senseless tragedy. Jon Connington has greyscale and they don't seem to have the concept of germ theory yet (except for Dorne, but that is a story for another day). It's just like GRRM to create the perfect benevolent ruler and kill him off with a random disease. There are no happy endings in Westeros.
@@sleekoduck On one of the Arianne POV in Winds sample. Their is a girl dreaming of a grey dragon spitting disease and killing anyone. Guess that's going to be the Golden Company's downfall.
Ah Book!Sand Snakes are a painful reminder of my disappointment when I learned we wouldn't have Arianne in season 5. At that point I was like "oooh that's not good, they're removing some of the best stuff" and BOY was I not surprised to see how season 5 unfolded lol (aka I ragequit by episode 2 or 3). Series Onlies have been robbed of the Dornish plot, which gives us some amazing characterisation and character development (the "chapter should be analysed as a proper piece of literature" type of amazing).
I was disappointed when I found out Arianne wasn't going to be in the show. But when I saw the actress Tyene playing with knives, I knew something was going on... something very wrong.
I am absolutely LOVING this barrage of content from LmL and Quinn. You guys are the best! The quality is top-notch, especially considering the super speed with which these videos are coming out.
I’ve never pictured Dorne as a desert of Dune like the Sahara. I picture Dorne like southern Spain arid and rocky or like the Great Basin Desert of Nevada or the Mojave Desert of New Mexico. Those areas are rich in mineral resources like iron in the rocks and coal under the bedrock and they support multitudes of life but you have to be hard to live there.
I have to wonder how Doran thinks either of Quentin or Arienne’s quests will work out. Why put both his children in such risk with so many foiled plots by Illyrio over the years?
Sending fugly Quentyn to court Daenerys w/Gerris Drinkwater, who seems to be one of the most handsome men in the story, kinda suggests Doran set Quent up to fail. Barristan says as much when he thinks about Dany making a different choice had Drinkwater been the prince.
You should watch Preston Jacob's theory videos about doran's plots. He goes waaay in depth. A little too much sometimes and seems to be stretching things but he's got good ideas
There are interesting similarities between Doran + Oberyn and Tyrion + Jaime to be had, Doran and Tyrion are the scheming ones often overlooked for their contributions by society that values physical prowess, attractiveness, and sexual vigor (even if Jaime is supposed to be chaste, he represents "every maidens fantasy" of what a man should be). One is the head, the other the hand/brawn. The major difference, however, is that Tyrion is more ready to act on his schemes than Doran. Makes me want to compare where I think their stories are going, especially since Tyrion starts off interacting with a (very likely) black dragon--fAegon--but ends up with a red dragon--Dany whereas Doran starts off treating with a red dragon--Visyris and Dany--but looks to be joining with a black dragon--fAegon. I also like the symbolism of Doran pressing the black dragon into Arianne's palm: he's pressing her to support a black dragon in fAegon, and we'll have to see how that goes for them. Unlike Tyrion, Arianne is not strategic with her dragon.
@@ashleyofnaath Are you a fan of The Dragon Demands channel? There's a recurring motif in Benioff's fiction about the nerdy kid and the older kid who teaches him how to be more cool. It's quite similar to this pairing from GRRM.
why is no one making the following connection: black dragons = trueborn targaryen with valyrian features. red dragons = bastards and targaryens without valyrian features. the silk animal on the banber is only for maesters important.
The ripe blood oranges gave me strong Fig Tree/Sylvia Plath vibes. I think it's symbolic of how Doran has waited for so long for revenge, all his plans have failed one by one, and he is running out of time.
I've thought this same thing multiple times. It's not a simple issue, since it would have been a real David vs Goliath scenario and Doran is not stupid. There were far more reasons to do nothing than there were to act, the most glaring was the amount of power the STABL alliance had compared to Doran. Any scenario involving a war was one the Dornish would lose most spectacularly. If you ask me, that's why Doran spent so much time at the Water Gardens looking at the children. It was to remind himself how little chance he had UNLESS his plan was perfect. He has multiple possible plans, but none have borne true fruit, and those that might have were never harvested. Had Dorne and the Reach been able to set aside their issues, the story might have been quite different, but there was just too much bad blood, and Doran has serious evidence to NEVER trust the Tyrells while Olenna is still alive. Forty thousand men is massive overkill to starve out a garrison of a few hundred graybeards at Storm's End while the true fight is happening elsewhere. That was deliberate. Had Willas become Lord Paramount, that might have changed, and I think Oberyn was setting up for that very thing given his relationship with the heir to Highgarden.
Almost 1h of of winds of winter predictions by you guys? I couldn't have hoped for more. I read all the books again and tried to read between the lines like you but couldn't grasp half of what you can foresee in the words, that's what is so interesting in your videos. Kuddos, I love your channels and I'm so hyped for TWOW. Keep up the good work.
Arianne is an Amethyst Empress archetype: she perceived herself as disinherited even though she was the heir. I don't see her wanting to rule the seven kingdoms, though. Much as she's ambitious, her ambition is ruling Dorne, which is her birthright. I could see her making a deal with fAegon to secure her position as heir of Dorne, but I doubt that will be necessary since she seems to be acting as Doran's heir right now. They seem to have come to an agreement about her position. I tend to think her resentment of Quentyn as "king of Westeros" is a holdover of her resentment due to perceiving him as usurping her role as heir to Dorne. "First he was going to replace me as heir to Dorne, and now he gets to be KING of Westeros where he'll still have power over me? That's BS." So much of it is about him being younger but having power OVER her. At least that's how it reads to me; I could very well be wrong about her relationship with fAegon, though I hope not. I'm not a huge fan of Arianne/fAegon and will be annoyed if Martin goes that direction since I do feel like by the end of ADWD, she's learned her lesson about brooding pretty boys.
Obama😆! The Sand Presidents. Obara's tale of when Oberyn came for her is one of my favorite snippets of dialogue. When Oberyn says "See, I told you she was mine" is such a great line. George gave us a very dynamic and impactful introduction to Oberyn, then continues to build on his character posthumously.
I may be biased, but I always saw the opposite. Given Oberyn's personality, we're supposed to like or admire him, but he deliberately slept with women he should not have and later returned to kidnap their daughters. For the older Sand Snakes, each had a mother who should otherwise have been off-limits. Ellaria was someone else's paramour Oberyn basically stole.
The most interesting thing about Doran to me is that he is introduced to us as the paragon of patience, waiting until his plans are rotten so to speak before realizing he has waited too long. And even after everyone has told him to move he doesn't. He has all his hopes on Quentyn yet I have no doubt that when Faegon reveals himself and Quentyn turns up dead this will finally be his moment, and he will act, out of emotion if nothing else. Yet this absurdly lethargic character will be too hasty when you consider that if he had simply just waited for Dany to show up and back her all his plans would have worked out. It will be Yet another human heart in conflict with itself moment as Doran realizes that even he, patience incarnate was no patient enough for his plans to work out. I even imagine this little monologue at the end of the book where he is taking to someone about how he fooled himself into thinking his time had come and now the innocents of Dorne will suffer for his impatience as Dany essentially punishes Dorne for its betrayal in supporting the mummers dragon. This moment to me I can feel will be overlooked even though it hasn't happened yet because it's more subtle but this is no different than Jaime losing his hand, Cersei losing her beauty, Arya losing her sight... Doran losing his patience. Yet no less impactful to the heart of the character.
I really don’t think Doran “has all his hopes on Quentyn”. The evidence suggests that he set him up to fail. He sent the boy off with a skeleton crew, no gifts nor apparel worthy of a king consort, and while he gave Arianne a book about dragons he didn’t give one to Quentyn. Then there’s his crew, the Yronwoods who are the Martell’s main rivals in Dorne. They undermine the quest East at every step. However, given that they raised Quentyn they also want to keep him alive. It’s quite clear that Doran set his son up to fail with the safety net of Yronwood’s, quite possibly in order to deceive the latter about his real plans.
@GracchiII yeah I've seen Preston's Dornish Master Plan. He makes a lot of good points some you mentioned. However to say he set Quentyn up to fail I think is an exaggeration. I don't think Doran is so callous as to literally sell his firstborn son to his enemies, that'd be cruel even for Roose Bolton. And what'd be the point? If he really needed to give them a hostage for some reason he could have given them a sandsnake or a younger son. Saying that Doran pinned all his hopes on Quentyn is maybe an overstatement, but I don't think it was just a sacrifice. It was probably a hail Mary that just didn't pay off. Doran wants revenge at the end of the day and an alliance with Dany could have done that. As for him not giving Quentyn suffient equipment, it was a stealth mission, best done with fewer people. I think it's possible that the Yronwoods and Doran are closer than Preston thinks, after all they would have had to arrange quentyns whole mission together even as misguided as it was. And if the Yronwoods have quentyn as a hostage they would have to have some hope in success otherwise they'd be throwing their prized hostage away. I think it's too soon to tell what the Dornish Master plan is exactly if there is one.
Another factor that could drive the Martells to support Aegon Blackfyre - Nymeria’s mother is one of the nobles of Volantis living behind the black walls. Guess who Dany is going to burn. I think Arch will be killed and Drink will be the only one to survive and tell Doran what happened to Quentyn, of course he’ll tell his own warped anti-Dany version of events.
Love the video guys. It’s a nice easy watch that doesn’t distract me too much whilst I’m “working” from home... The thing I love about these videos is how nicely paced they are and it’s not easy to get lost and fall behind whilst multitasking unlike a lot of other TH-camrs’ ASoIaF videos which is throwing so much information down your throat and talking so quickly
Favorite video because I like Dorn a lot. Very resilient kingdom and always a threat. It gonna be interesting to see what becomes of Dorn and the Martell's because I see them getting hit hard with tragedy. It already started with Quentyn.
the tragedy started when elia was born a month to early and so no able to tame a dragon. especially a dragon of black wood full with wolves and ravens. and cold light. (i am speaking of rhaegar targaryen).
I never picked up on that "Blood Orange" analogy, but its fantastic. Gods, what great writing from GRRM. First video of this series I've watched and its great! I love the quote from TWOIAF that compare Dorne to the North, as you pointed out the Wildlings and Iron Islands. I really think Dore and the North breeds the same type of person, in just totally different contexts. There is even the alter religion in both with the Orphans and the Old Gods, albeit it is a minority in the former, and the majority in the latter. Cool stuff, bud.

Lucifer means Lightbringer That’s right! After Sam talked to Marwyn, Marwyn was like, “Thanks for the chat, I’m out!” then heads out for Dany. Marwyn’s such an odd character for the citadel in my opinion.
i live in a high desert and we do have grass here - i know Dorne is a sandy desert also, but there’s definitely many kinds of desert! i agree that the show didn’t go as hard as they could have but as a desert-lover i always wanna talk about the variance in the biome lmao
As a Mexican, I relate so much to the Dornish and Rhoynar culture. A lot of people think it parallels to the Middle East, but I disagree. Dornish people are described much like meso-Mexicans, the foods are almost identical, the landscape, we even have a snake on our flag. Dorne is such an interesting storyline and I can’t wait to see to see Dorans plan unfold. Unbowed, Unbent, and Unbroken.
i would say they're based off medieval spain, muslim caliphate times or just post. there lies the similarities to mexican with the Spanish influence, and people thinking about middle east, because they're culturallly interwoven.
@@jamesgjbrown funny now that u mentioned it i only realize theres probably more drama in the iberian peninsula during the caliphate rule than the war of the roses.
As a Russian, I see lots of similarities with the Dornish. I think Aegon came up to Storms End and smashed the remainder of the Tyrell host left there to keep the castle under siege, and then acted like they were fighting for Stannis. Pretty believable if you just killed his enemies and defended his home. Only to take charge the moment the castle opened its gates
This is all heading to a tragic end. Despite all his talk about protecting the children and the innocent people of Dorne, those people will suffer for his ill-conceived plan of vengeance. Doran is not as smart as he thinks he is.
@@sleekoduck Look up the Dornish Master Plan on TH-cam, it breaks down that Doran's plan as proposed sucks, but that it actually goes much much deeper and part of that was intending Quentins quest to fail in order to subvert the House Yronwood.
Oh no please don't toss any coins to your TH-camrs, o viewer of (relative) plenty! No telling what we might do, what evil we might unlock... :) Thanks and glad you are enjoying the series!
Man o Man.... Thanks for this video so much !!! I love Doran and Dornish Plot. Your observations were correct. Dornish Plot has some of the finest prose written in the series. I think it is a Tragedy of Doran that his pieces don't think like him. Arianne needs her Dad's way of closely examining and reading the situation to protect herself from stepping in bad places. I don't see hope for Dorne... But the genius of Martin's way of Storytelling is that somehow.... Some part of Dorne's Soul will be saved because of Doran's Care up till now in the Story. But, I don't know how. Darkstar will face Ser Balon Swann, Areo Hotah, and Obara. Areo might die protecting Ser Balon whilst Obara turns sides to Camp Darkstar and both go rogue and join Euron, I wonder. Even Lady Nym and Tyene who are so self assured may find King's Landing a hostile setting with difficulty to protect themselves. I see Nym allying with Varys. Arianne with Young Griff, Nym with Varys. So, Dorne is ripe to fall to Black Dragon, Mummer's Dragon while Bran, Bloodraven, and Littlefinger independently work towards defeating them along with Queen Daenerys. Doran might not live to see the Final Outcome of all his lifelong austerity. I love this Story !! ☺️👌✨✨
I think you guys are under estimating one of the sand snakes, Elia sand, she's going to end up, seducing or at least sleeping with fAegon, potentially screwing everything up for Arianne. She's closer to his age than Arianne is, plus Why else introduce another character this late in the game, another character who likes seducing men she's not supposed to. Though, she may have just been going after feathers to gain information, which would makes her that much more dangerous & conniving. Definitely one to keep an eye on !

Great video, great theories, but you didn't even mention that someone betrayed Arianne in her plot to crown Myrcella. I was eager to see what you had to say about that, because I think this betrayer is gonna come back to haunt her, if not to just press her into some kind of paranoia...
IMO, they'll probably just straight up switch sides and support the fAegon cause. I mean, they already switched sides three times, what's one more time?
The Golden Company have enough men to make a counter-attack. The Tyrells, seeing that their enemy has left the castle, will charge at The Golden Company. The Golden Company, with their archers and elephants, will decimate The Tyrells.
@Sad Life Tyrell Army is entering The Stormlands and Aegon is in Storm’s End. Mace outnumbers him 5 to 1 and is pretty stupid. He’s gonna get whooped like The French at Agincourt.
Weird loop hole... How did Jon Connigton not question Varys as to why he didn't go out his way to help Rhaegar when he planned the great tourney to overthrow his father and yet he went out his way to save his son 🤔 FAegon for real, guys.
I remember back when I heard Arianne was heading to Aegon, I thought she would sleep with Jon Con, unknowingly get Grey Scale, and then be wed to Aegon. But now, years later, I’m more confident that Aegon, whether he is a Blackfyre, or a true Targaryen, I believe he is one of the three dragons, along with Dany and Jon.

It's videos like these that are pushing me more and more to read the books. And treat the HBO show, as much as I like it, as an alternate timeline. The books are the prime timeline of events. With that I've made my peace with the show (more or less, Season 8 is bitter still in my mouth, stunning visuals aside). So yeah, that's my two cents.
Doran is much more Dornish in his ways than Oberyn ever was. Oberyn is the unrealistic, mummer's viper, full of posture and vengence, giving a performance as a distraction. Doran is the real snake in the grass, the one you may not perceive or give it much credit because it is relatively small in size with seemingly no poison in its fangs. The one that is always scheming in the shadows, waiting patiently for the right moment to strike.
I thought you were gonna talk about it but since you didn't I'll let the question open for the whole Internet: What do you think is little Elia Sand up to? You know, the 14 year old who seems as reckless as her dad and is now with Arianne in her way to fAegon and is flirting with the ravens guy? Is she working on her own? Is she working in behalf of her older sisters? Or is Ellaria Sand planning something? To me she's a very suspicious wild card there... Great video anyway!
What I made up out of the hints the book gives us: Obara - who wants to start a war - might be travelling with the Myrcella-double to fool the Kingsguard. I Imagine Obara might help Darkstar to trap the Kingsguard, have the Double killed, and her tarred head sent to Cersei, just like they sent Clegane's head to Dorne, it was at least teased in the show with the box, but the show had no Myrcella-Double Areo Hotah cut the ear off from to make her more convincing to fool the kingsguard. Arianne is ambitious and will try to get queen and to seduce and marry fAegon, she wants to believe he is a dragon (not to forget we know he is also sided by some of the Brothers without Banners that were around Lady Stoneheart and probably the Tyrells and Tarleys, too, that were the last to bow to Robert. Tyene will be one of the young Septas that teach Tommen the Sevenpointed star, and probably poisons him with Dornish sweets. Nymeria is seducing and since Cersei dreams of being a man she might be successfully lure Cersei into a relationship and could even turn out to be the younger sibling's (Oberons) pale - were it long fingered? = sandsnake-hands that throttle her... - but probably Cersei will just turn crazy and burn King's Landing, when Jaime and all her children are (reported) dead - and the book and the show teased she was pyromanic. I'm uncertain about the timeline, fAegon and Arianne will be at the gates of King's Landing at some point soon, but the people will open the door for him. It should be after Tommen is dead. - And I could see Cersei burning the city at that point trying to name herself Queen. I can not guess what role Qyburn and Euron will play in the fire but I'm pretty sure if anything is burned in King's Landing it will trigger Aerys' Wildfire trap, and since in the show it was Cersei that started a fire in the Sept (that is like the dragonpit the only building without wildfire beneath) she might burn the Sept in the Red Keep - and there's still wildfire hidden somewhere in the walls of the Red Keep, so all will go up in flames. Trystane and the real Myrcella (I very much think she wanted to be with Trystane at all costs and took the place of her own Double) get stuck somewhere, their ship probably sunken by pirates, either by Aurane Waters or Euron Greyjoy. Aurane Waters might be a gallant host to Trystane and Myrcella (and fleeing from the Stepstones might sail them north to Braavos) and might enable them to escape, while Euron Greyjoy will most likely kill Trystane and perhaps force Myrcella into marrying him and making him King of Westeros ere he sets her aside for marrying Daenerys... Since Daenerys already fell for Daario Naharis, she might also fall for Euron who is the same sort of theatralic and dashing but more sinister - probably even welcoming his monstrosity - all depending on what she does in Esteros - making herself Khal of Khals, retracing her steps, sacking Quarth as promised, stealing their fleet for her world-tribe, revisiting all the Slaver's Bay Cities that have fallen from her and collaborate behind her back with Volantis, sacking Volantis, taking Pentos for the Tattered Prince (that might know about Varys' and Illyrio's plot and fAegon. She might attack fAegon and burn King's landing out of a mistake triggering the Wildfiretrap.) I'm unsure how the Greyjoy-battle might work out, since Victarion set out to win over Euron. I imagine Euron will sack Oldtown, [where Samwell, fPate and Alleras might be forced to join or escape him, he might next go to Starfall for Dawn [Samwell perhaps stealing Dawn and escaping towards fAegon] , then Sunspear, and then probably meet his brother on the sea, who will be delayed helping Daenerys and the Volantene slaves in taking Volantis. It might be that if Victarion or Tyrion get hold of one of her dragons one of her dragons will be killed by Euron. Euron seems to be the reborn Bloodstone-Emperor and if Daenerys is the Amethyst-queen there is troubles for her ahead. I can see Victarion having Jaime's show role in killing Euron and getting killed in turn, while I think it might be that Jaime is killed by Brienne who travels his talking head as is foreshadowed. I'm very unsure how deep into the horror-genre and how phantastic the story will turn out. But magic gives all sorts of weird possibilities: not only people travelling talking heads, but somebody dying warging into any beast or - an abomination: another human, or coming back to live by any weird method, walking skeletons, heads like Robb Stark's sewn on to other bodies, people changing faces... and of course loads of cannibalism and blood-sacrifices... Cersei has the Merrywateregg she and Qyburn or fAegon and Arianne might try to hatch to have another dragon... enough reasons to to produce disaster with good intentions.
I think Doran has something up his sleeve that no one has predicted. I just can't see any of the moves he's making overtly paying off in a significant way. Aleras, however, is another story.
Love this series but this episode has been hands down my favorite and Dorne is my least favorite kingdom but you guys hyped it up so much it might be my second favorite now after the north of course lol... speaking of the north I know it’s been speculated to death but is this series going to go North and to the Wall? I’d love to hear some interesting takes for TWOW from that area and the river lands as well!!!
We have two riverlands episodes coming, and either five or six in the North, can't recall off the top of my head. :) As far as Dorne, I think their Collective story loses a little bit of impact because it's spread around so much, and it comes in the last two books which are full of new characters and small details to keep track of. When you put it all together in one place you can kind of see what's going on, and the sand snakes in particular look like they are set up to do some cool stuff. :) Glad we got you hyped!
LML yeah and by the time we finally get south in the books we have already fallen in love with so many characters but have watched so many “favorites” die it’s hard for them to measure up to other characters we already know more intimately. And the Red Viper set the bar really high for beloved southern characters it’s hard to find other favorites to get behind because then (at least I did this lol) when you are reading about Quentin all you think is “this dude is no viper” lol anyways thanks for the videos

I think that Darkstar is actually in on the plot with Doran, and that Balon Swann and any other Kingslanders will die... the wording around what actually happened in the incident with Myrcella is unclear (as it should be) and Darkstar was blamed for her injury and was able to flee, and he conveniently retreats to a well-defended place. Doran says "we dare not defy Kings Landing openly" but that just means he has to be sneaky, and Obara (who wants bloody revenge) taking Balon Swann et al on a wild goose chase for Darkstar is a perfect way to whittle them down
One thought I had... the Doran coat of arms or whatever - it's a spear PIERCING the sun. Sounds like something you'd do if you wanted to bring on the long night... or permanent darkness?
I did an Odin / Oberyn Livestream in the Norse playlist where I went into this but yes you are correct. Oberyn portrays Odin's "Lord of battles" / "mischief-making" aspects and Odin is sun god who speared
One big key difference between the books and the TV Series is definatly Dorne in which book Doran is cooking his revenge against the Lannisters while in TV Series he was portrayed as the shittiest leader who made peace with the Lannisters
and doran isnt truly out for justice for elia, rhaenys and aegon. even not revenge. he wants separate dorne from the iron throne. no targaryen king is ruling so doran thinks the time had come to turn back the wheel of time. to restore westeros of old. where 7 kingdoms laid in endless quarrel war and injustice. where those blood sacrifice kept the white walkers asleep. and the others arent evil.

If Barristan survives the Battle of Fire, I'm sure Doran would belive Ser Barristan. And Ser Barristan knows what happened to Quentin.
Barristan will only be where Daenerys is. And it will be hard to get Dany and Doran together in person. Some people actually think Quentin is still alive. Would be interesting but so unlikely
I agree 100%
Barristan I think is the betrayal for blood. Like when he thinks rhaegars son is alive.
Doran told Arienne to stay out of the golden company thing if there’s no dragons. I think he will keep Dorn out till the dragons arrive

5) Cercie - Yes she's an old cuch. But she's still balls to the wall in love of the concept of an silver haired prince. Imagine seeing Young Griff for the first time.

Those areas are rich in mineral resources like iron in the rocks and coal under the bedrock and they support multitudes of life but you have to be hard to live there.
How has this become my favorite series on TH-cam?
Keep it up lads!
It would be so fucked up if he simply sees them as pawns (to be protected over others of course but still pawns)
Ashley of Naath That is a good point. I forgot Selmy’s thoughts on Q and Crew when they arrived.
Alex Arias Thanks, Alex. I know I have seen some of his videos, but I don’t think I have watched any of his Dorne vids.
Nice catches.
Doran/Oberyn made me think Ned/Brandon to an extent, but I like your Tyrion/Jaime connection! That's a good one.

why is no one making the following connection: black dragons = trueborn targaryen with valyrian features. red dragons = bastards and targaryens without valyrian features. the silk animal on the banber is only for maesters important.
@@Josh-the-man and brandon was brain amputeed. like neds buddy robert. strong as hell and without black pudding in the skull.
This was a fun reminder of how much I love the threads of the Dornish story in the books!
Almost 1h of of winds of winter predictions by you guys? I couldn't have hoped for more.
I agree, she's more interesting if she did learn her lesson
the amethyst empress was disinherited by violent death throught a brothers hand. i dont see those in ariane.
56 minutes? Damn! Great job guys.

@Sad Life Yeah but due to the timing, I think that'll only happen after Aegon smashes The Tyrell host
It was really good to see Quinn enjoying Dorne
I remember back when I heard Arianne was heading to Aegon, I thought she would sleep with Jon Con, unknowingly get Grey Scale, and then be wed to Aegon. But now, years later, I’m more confident that Aegon, whether he is a Blackfyre, or a true Targaryen, I believe he is one of the three dragons, along with Dany and Jon.
That was just excellent, thank you.
Hi LML (and Quinn!) I've been a fan of Quinn's work for some time, and have now subbed to Your channel. Thank's for all Your hard work Guy's..oh, and Greeting's from Scotland too! Slange!
Awesome topic and video ty! When LML introduced the sand snakes I got Kill Bill vibes lol
I agree with you about the toughness of people in some areas LmL. I've always thought The North - Wildlings included - The Iron Islands and The Dornish would make a great alliance. I've totally got that bookmarked for a random fanfic story if I ever get around to playing in the ASOIAF/GoT universe.
Great discussion gents; loving this series.
Great show guys! Thanks🏆
Needing more dual content from you two
Dark...mysterious....mood music...AWW, PUPPY!!...back to dark....mysterious XD
I thoroughly enjoyed this one! Thanks, guys☺
The best Tag Team since Undertaker and Kane: Quinn & LmL
Threre have been a lot of WoW videos this week, maybe they know something we don't 👀
nope, just trying to will it into existence ;)
@@DavidLightbringer Hey man. Do you really think that Doran would send his son on this mission escorted by 'not their men'? I mean House Yronwood is their rival
This series is really great you guys! 😊
Faegon might reject marrying Arianne to save his hand for Daenerys
that would mean "Dragon" for him
I was hoping George might use Arianne-fAegon-Sansa to retell Elia-Rhaegar-Lyanna. Though maybe not because, you know, Bran could just show us lol.
@@Josh-the-man before the red wedding most people said grrm would clearly ste up a joffrey-robb confrontation in kings landing.
George does not write as most people expect.
and he did not set up anything for dany and aegon until now
@@Rakonax i believe he mentioned in an interview the Dance of Dragons 2.0
Plus, Dany's visions, combined with Quathie's warning about the mumer's dragon, are hints that she will probably be involved in a conflict with fAegon
@@TheaTheGenius visions can be wrong entirely, or is rhaego alive, that he could be leading the dothraki in the future.
Nothing is set in stone until the book arrives, especially with martin being martin.
and when you look at the theories that were popular before the other books came out, you will see the most popular theories were all wrong, and i doubt this will change with twow
It's videos like these that are pushing me more and more to read the books. And treat the HBO show, as much as I like it, as an alternate timeline. The books are the prime timeline of events. With that I've made my peace with the show (more or less, Season 8 is bitter still in my mouth, stunning visuals aside). So yeah, that's my two cents.
i was waiting all day for this
Arianne as well as the Snakes, with Doran being the puppet-master are the mirror to Tywin and his handling of his brood
I thought you were gonna talk about it but since you didn't I'll let the question open for the whole Internet:
What do you think is little Elia Sand up to? You know, the 14 year old who seems as reckless as her dad and is now with Arianne in her way to fAegon and is flirting with the ravens guy? Is she working on her own? Is she working in behalf of her older sisters? Or is Ellaria Sand planning something? To me she's a very suspicious wild card there...
Great video anyway!
I think she's working with Ellaria. She seems to have weirdly left the plot recently.
Mos Def is that u?
What I made up out of the hints the book gives us:
Obara - who wants to start a war - might be travelling with the Myrcella-double to fool the Kingsguard.
She might attack fAegon and burn King's landing out of a mistake triggering the Wildfiretrap.)
I'm unsure how the Greyjoy-battle might work out, since Victarion set out to win over Euron.
That is the cutes puppy! Love you predictions
I think they have to get back, they’re the only ones that can remember the Dornish misAdventure
*Prince consort. He can't be called King cause the throne is hers. Also wait until she finds out Faegon isn't the heir either, it's Jon. 🤣🤣🤣

26:48 "Hotah studied each of them in turn. Obara, rusted nails and boiled leather, with her angry, close-set eyes and rat-brown hair. Nymeria, languid, elegant, olive-skinned, her long black braid bound up in red-gold wire. Tyene, blue-eyed and blond, a child-woman with her soft hands and little giggles. Obama, clad in a scandalous tan suit, the 44th president of the United States of America."
I really think Arianne was sent on a fool's errand.
So many layers to this facet of the tapestry. Obviously Doran is playing 4D chess and I can't wait to read about his endgame.
The guy on the right is great. You totally get which parts of the books are pure epic and can articulate it perfectly. Guy on left is still cool
Doran says "we dare not defy Kings Landing openly" but that just means he has to be sneaky, and Obara (who wants bloody revenge) taking Balon Swann et al on a wild goose chase for Darkstar is a perfect way to whittle them down
and balon swann will share the fate of the poor ducks in the hole asoiaf series. killed by outlaws.
Have you guys considered making a dedicated channel for co-streaming?
Something like "Lucifer meets Quinn's Ideas
