I did this today to my rims,(e39), followed your steps, came out near perfect! Doing this will keep you from having to refurbish your wheels right away. A easy to use product that does better than its promises. Thanks for uploading my brother!
Those wheels came out looking awesome! They definitely look great with the silver paint of your car. I need to get a nice set of wheels too but no one around here is selling decent sized 4x100 wheels.
Actually not a good idea with plastidip, as the rubberized coating will bond to the cards, and can peel/tear off the wheel when you pull the cards out. The best trick is to first apply tire shine to the sidewall of the tire, and then spray the wheels, making sure to apply a heavy coat up onto the sidewall. Once dry, this will easily release from the rubber and peel right off, leaving a crisp clean line where the tire meets the wheel.
Wouldn't it be better to use the gray color coating instead of the black then top off with the metallizer? Then if the aluminum top coat color scraped off the gray would hide better than the black showing thru.
I’m about to do the same job , I bought a couple of decks of cards , to slip in between the tires and wheels , plus I’m doing mine while wheels are on car
Hey! I still can't figure out the plasti dip you are using. Are you using plasti dip metalizer or plasti dip silver. Can you send me the link to where you got them? Thank you
I like it! Not a fan of the murdered out look. Bought rims the guy painted black and then plasti dipped over that.. What a mess to remove. Just wanted a factory look without the mess of having to paint sand over and over.. I'm going to do these this weekend for sure.. Looks good
Does the glossifier do anything on top of the metalizer? Fonzi on Dip My Car says its not needed with the metalizer. Looks amazing btw, doing mine this weekend.
Well that was a steal on the rims. I was thinking of doing mine. So how many coats do you get from the can? You had two black and 1metal. That will do 4rims
you do some really good vids. sometimes your music editing needs refining, where its a bit too loud when you're talking. keep up the good work and tips. pcv delete vid was excellent btw.
Looks amazing , thinking of doing my rims OEM Silver Metalic , the original finish is fading and oxidized from years of hard cleaning I bought them used, now it time they got some TLC, thanks for the video very helpful tips.
or you could have just taken 5 minutes to mask the tyre. fuckin hilarious stuff😂considering trying out plastidip but after watching several videos it looks pretty cheap and tacky compared to factory
Usually people go backwards from silver to black but this looks 100X better in silver. Great job man!

100% better looking than black wheels.

Use index cards on the side wall next time. This prevents it from going on the tire.

@@BrinkHouse key is to do it when it’s freshly sprayed and wet
use a cheap deck of cards slipped under the rim to cover the sidewall when spraying
Looks great! I just ordered some yesterday. Fingers crossed. Im also using a white plasti dip base. Thoughts? Any difference?
Thanks! I just picked up a car and the wheels are super chrome and I want to get them back to stock. This looks great!

great job, whats the difference between doing that process or silver dip then glossy?
I'm doing the same on my jeep the wheels have curb rub on them and that looks really OEM. I love it
it is called aluminum metalizer correct? not bright aluminum?
Much better than black. The beauty of mags came out. :)
I am thinking of doing this exact same thing, I have a silver Mustang with black wheels
I’m about to do the same job , I bought a couple of decks of cards , to slip in between the tires and wheels , plus I’m doing mine while wheels are on car
Great volg....plastidip is ace! Thanks for sharing buddy!

That looks supper great. I shall try this on my BMW e90 rims
After that the silver can remove ?

Separate question . What percent is your window tint? PS the wheels look good
Hi there can you tell me how many cans you used in total?
I think it was 2 cans of black and two cans of the aluminum metalizer
Pep Boys has a good selection of dip
Does the glossifier do anything on top of the metalizer? Fonzi on Dip My Car says its not needed with the metalizer. Looks amazing btw, doing mine this weekend.
Keep the silver bro! They came out pretty nice 👍. Good look for the car.
Damn that silver looks good
heat up the spray boxes in warm water before use :)
what happens putting the metalizer straight over originally painted black wheels?
Not very much tbh. Its more like straight pigment. You wont get much coverage if any 😕
@@BimmerDude ah ok would it make sense to put it over a grey Plasti dip or is it something with black that it works best with?
Well that was a steal on the rims. I was thinking of doing mine. So how many coats do you get from the can? You had two black and 1metal. That will do 4rims
Love the transformation!!! But may I ask what colors you used for the color it was before you plastidipped it with the new silver color?
Black base coat
Can you post the names of the bottle cans of plastic that you used. Thanks
Can you peel off the old plastic dip or is it too hard?

Do a video on painting your brake calipers loving the mini videos keep up the good work 👍🏼
Great suggestion and thanks!
How many coats would you recommend? I have the same wheels but in a gun metal. I want it to be silver bc im going for the OEM look as well.
Hey bro how much cans did you use for all 4 wheels?
Look great!! I have the same wheels. Going to give it a try
Do you have a link of where you got them at.?
Looks amazing , thinking of doing my rims OEM Silver Metalic , the original finish is fading and oxidized from years of hard cleaning I bought them used, now it time they got some TLC, thanks for the video very helpful tips.
Looks great
Will it hold up in an automated car wash?
It held up very well
Damn a lot better than black
Good job🔥 thinking about doing this
Great job. Im gonna try this.
nice work man, thx for posting!
This is awesome
BEATS BLACK WHEELS!! CLEAN! Black rims are not popular anymore. Black on Black is not popular.
Very useful, thanks!
Im try this on my wheels
Just to be sure this was the aluminum metalizer not the brightest aluminum metalizer?
Andy Rydzewski sorry for the confusion I used the brightest alluminum
Yeah looks so nice btw. Wonder if using a gun metal base coat would make much of a difference
Na maske trzeba było położyć to koło i malowac
Looks great!!
I'm doing this
is the finish glossy or just frosted?
LaMadrid81 this was a glossy finish
Good job!!!
100 bucks it's a lot
