Wow, the negative comments by all these experts on the web. Nice to see people fitting 15s as opposed to 18s and 20s. I myself fitted 15x8 rims with 225 50 15 tyres and the improvement in handling (comfort as well) is amazing. Yes I did adjust my ride height after fitting the new rims but you would always lower after fitting the rims not the other way around. nice work.

Great vid. I have a question hoping that you can answer. I got a 2015 countryman S All4 came with 17” oem rims but I didn’t like the alloy look. So I got the 2016 black 10 spoke oem 17” rims when I went try to put them on it didn’t want to fit since the center hub was popping out too much ( the piece that overlapped middle of the spacer you put on) what can I do to make it fit can you provide me with a great spacer mm to get cause I really like the rims I just bought from a outside seller and I don’t want to be stuck with them leaving them to collect dust.
How did this affect performance? My mini handles beautifully. What about gas mileage and horse power? Considering putting on 245s or at least making my r56's stance beefier.

...no kidding. Nothing like having $5k in tire equipment, but doesn't have a $1500 Quickjack for easier vehicle lifting. I guess it depends on how many tires they go through or they have a race team...
Where did you get the front bumper aero kit from?
Make sure you get an alignment anytime you get new wheels and tires or just tires.

So all you need are the spacers and extensions and it would fit on a factory cooper, or are there suspension parts that would need to be installed aswell? I'm looking to go with a tire thats nice and wide, I have a 2002 mini cooper s r53
That's all we used. Depending what size rim/tire you get you will rub the fenders. But i am on stock suspension at the moment and it is working great!

Hi guys i have a 18” wheels fro the JCW od 2008 , would like to fit 225/40/18 behind instead of the fucked up 205/40/18 can it fit or I have to have extender ?

why did you blast it bead on when it was already on
Can you put fatter tires on those wheels? I can see that there is a large gap between the tire and the wheel well. I kind of like the look of the Dsquared Mini, and I'm tired of scraping my front bumper.
You can, but you run the risk of rubbing. I would recommend getting some new stiffer suspension and lower it a little to eliminate the gap.
Do you track the car like that? I want to put a 225/45/17 on my car.
The plan is to track it. Just swapped to those same wheel specs yesterday
whats your review of the new wheels
The combination of the new tires and wider wheels is night and day compared to my old ones. The amount of grip i have now is unbelievable! Torque steer is a lot worse as well, but it is still manageable. The only complaint i have is that the tires stick out so much that i'm throwing rocks/dirt at the side of my car. But that can be fixed by installing some mud flaps, Which i have and will hopefully be doing an install in the next 2 weeks.

Adrian Mendoza thanks man! It's actually just 1.5" pipe after the stock header/cat. So no mufflers or resonators.

9" and a spacer on the front wheels... O.O You guys are totally RICING OUT a Mini. That is such a HUGE rear wing for a FWD car.

5.45 I have a factory JCW R53 also, but mine doesnt sound as throaty as that. do you have an exhaust? if so which one. also as for the tires how have they been? Update?
At the time I had a custom exhaust a shop made.tires have been great so far but I've switched to a bigger wheel and r888r. Haven't put any miles on them yet though. As for other updates it's got a big valve head, 550 injectors, cam, tune, RMW headers, another custom exhaust, front mount intercooler, and GP garage wide fender and race front bumper kit, and a carbon fiber hood.
@@hpgarage3531 that's awesome man, possibly new video soon? And when they made the exhaust did they bypass the cats, muffler? Because I'm tryna have mine sound like that. If you could shed some light on that it would be much appreciated. As for all the other mods that incredible. If only I had the cash flow😂
@@nathanpaullloyd if I remember correctly it was 2.5inch pipe with a muffler and resonator delete but still had the cat. It still took the stock path as well, making a Y around the battery box instead of just going to one side. We've talked about doing an update video but the car is so far ahead of where we last uploaded and we feel like people wanted to see the process instead of a finished project

Kirk Mattson I haven't encountered any rubbing yet. The offset is +35
The spacers essentially modify the offset. The recommended total is supposed to be near 35. With those spacers, you are running 15 mm offset. You might want to look into that, so not to mess up your bearings. You should have used some lock tight on the studs, I did not see that either. The Min forums have a lot of info on that. Also when you are using way out offset you change the alignment characteristics when the wheels are turned, a lot.
I am not talking crap at you. I own a 06 MCS and run 215/45/17 and 225/50/16 sets with the 1/4 inch and half inch spacing so not to exceed the offset limits without suspension height changes. I would be worried about your offsets.
What was the offset on these rims?
the offset is +35. but we also have the 20mm wheels spacers as well.
Idk if you guys said it on the video but I know for a fact that you gotta torque the extended bolts down before you put your wheels on hopefully I was wrong and missed that part

You need some bad ass arches now bud to fit the wheels. And locktite on the studs.
Did you get a lot of compliments on the set up? Or a lot of hate?
So far mostly compliments. People love how wide they are. however, the wheel gap bothers some.
H&P Garage I’m running 9x9.5 +12 on my 06 Accord and I literally took a pic for test fitting and everyone lost their mind about the poke lol and said I’d need to roll my fenders and camber it but since I live in pot hole town ohio 😂 I can only go so low

There will always be some keyboard warrior that will complain. At the end of the day just do what you think looks good. You could always do air suspension?

@@nathanpaullloyd so the spacers actually keep them from hitting things inside. If you could find the same width with +15 that would be best. The spacers essentially make it a +15.

Those are in the plans but there are a few more practical things that we need to take care of first.
Hows is the clearance on the tires if and when you lower it
Are you not supposed to have a gap? I thought the gap is to protect the frame and the tire so when the strut actuates, you dont get hurt or the car. You mean, put space in between tire and car inside the fender.
Why not buy wheels with the correct off set rather than spacers ?
Couldn't find any with the correct specs that I liked. A lot more options available if you use spacers.
@@hpgarage3531 I tend to get custom offsets made but I understand that limits you to wheel manufacturers. Will be interesting to see how the wheel bearings hold up too. My latest mini of several is a first gen R50 cooper. More suited to my short journeys than the R56 without mods and catch cans. No problem with the R 50 coking up. But they are all great 😊.rubber that wide is a bit over lill for here but interesting to see other folks projects.
@@simonwilletts4711 yeah a little wide at the time for what it was. Recently did the WMW big valve head and a lot of other supporting mods so I've got the power to justify it now. Unfortunately I stopped making videos.

DreamChaser I agree it is pretty high but I have some suspension waiting to be put on so it's not that big of a deal.
It's pretty much illegal to have your tires beyond the widest point of the car. That's why people put on fender flares.

Easy on the lube guys……lol. It is actually easier when you use less lube. Get yourself some aluminum hub rings. It is also easier if you put the hub rings in the wheel first.

wrong width, wrong offset, wrong scrub radius. lower the ride height and there will be nothing left of your tyre wall or fender. please people be aware and don't waste your money like this guy. not only that the far out positive scrub radius is really bad for the stability of the car and can be dangerous... be warned and do your research.
