I've tested both products in the Canadian winter in Ontario and I can assure you the Hyperdip is less durable than the original Plasti Dip! I spent so much time painting my rear after market bumper diffuser on my S550 Mustang GT and when you add ice build up to the equation with a self wash car wash it's gonna get destroyed! With ice sticking to the Hyper Dip and add a pressure washer, the ice will just pull at the Hyper dip and tear apart your hard work you've put into your project! Funny thing is my front lower bumper chin which is sprayed with 4-5 coats of the original Plasti Dip rocks and other things just bounce off of it because it's a more flexible product and can easily endure the ice and water pressure from a car wash without getting torn apart at all, go figure! P.S. For my diffuser, I also had sprayed 4 coats of clear coat for a better finish and better protection and it still couldn't endure the ice and pressure washer in the winter!
My rims came out MUCH better when I prepped the can by setting it in warm water for about 20 minutes. Made a world of difference. Also,.....you'll get better results if you do more light passes...instead of a few heavy passes...if that makes sense

That was going to be my question, is it durable with regular driving like the possibilty of stone chips etc. How long does it typically last on wheels before it starts to come off? Thanks in advance.
@IanSolano It's been on my exhaust tip since the end of 2017. It comes out behind the right rear tire. Road grime rock chips, it still looks great very durable.

No i dont recommend to use on plastic
Congrats on 10K! Do you have to/recommend warming up the hyperdip cans? I know you do with plasti dip. Also, how was dry time btwn the coats?
Thanks! Yes warm up in warm/hot water for 10 min. Wait 15-25 min between each coat
Thanks! I noticed you didn’t use dip release on the tires, do you recommend that? Thinking of getting cans only & not the kit.
How long did you wait before peeling off from tires?
@mrjprocks i usually wait until the next day but im sure its good to peel after 2-3 hours of cure time
@@mrjprocks i do use dip release all the time. It works wonders and makes it easier to peel off but you can also use regular tire shine just make sure not to apply it on the rim, only on the tire
You mentioned adding a dip coating..is that something that is specific to the hyperdip? Come in a kit or is there a certain type you recommend?
Its for plasti dip and hyperdip. You can find it at www.dipyourcar.com they have a after care kit you can buy or buy the dip coat separately
@@EhabHalat do you suggest scuffing and priming chrome to get a more permanent outcome?
No its not needed. This is a removable coating so it wont be permanent
Do you know how they protect wheels from salt in winter ??
Yes doesnt harm the wheels at all and cleans off easy
Get some decks of cards. Use them to protect the tires.
thanks man
Does anyone know if this stuff peels off ? For example when getting new tires they throw those rims on a machine while mounting and un mounting the tire
It will most likely peel abit on the edges but its easy to touch up
