@@alexmason6191 No, the driving physics and graphics are much more superior to DR 1.0, but the shitty content police of Codemasters makes this really bad. YOu have to pay for almost everything and even if you buy the Deluxe edition, you don't get all of the content. You can of course finish the game on all available packages, but you'll be missing out on rally locations like Monte Carlo, Sweden, Germany and many rally cars. Also you cannot participate in some daily challenges if you dont have the super deluxe edition or sth.

@@Racegas yeah you are lucky except for the fact that you hear some road legal impreza while dirt 4 has the actual rally car wich has a different exhaust system that doesn't make that rumble noise that you hear from your neighbour's car. You can hear some rally spec Impreza here on youtube, it sounds like a traditional Inline 4 cylinder engine.

I really love that they fixed the sound for the 037 in 4. I always thought it sounded a bit muffled compared to reality, and of course it was missing that legendary off-throttle whining sound, which is iconic with this car. It’s a pity they didn’t just update the sound in Rally like they did with the ‘95 Impreza, much better game by far imo
Both games have their pros and cons but for me DiRT 4 plays better than DiRT Rally, the game is now more stable and smooth. Frame rates are better and they have also improved the sound quality. Arcade option is a great progress because DiRT Rally was a simulation focused game which is a disappointment for a die-hard Colin McRae Rally and DiRT Series fan like me because I'm used to play with a controller.
Biggest change was with the Lancia 037 Evo, when you lift off the throttle. It just sounds much more metallic and hollow in DiRT 4, and you can hear the transmission whine when you lift off the throttle (which is what I love about this car irl). Always thought DiRT Rally was lacking in this - it sounded weak in that game. But overall DiRT Rally is just the better game XP
I think the sounds sound more beefier and have more of a deep grunt to them in DR too. D4 just equalized the bass and made it more bright, which made it sound better to listen to yes, but ruined the realism that DR had with its sound design...
And the 205 T16 sounded more like a flat 4 than an in-line 4 in DR, I’m glad they fixed that. And you can hear the turbo whistle more vividly too (like 3.5 bar of pressure won’t make a sound haha)
The only thing I didn't like about Dirt rally was the Paint on the cars and sponsorships from the wrc 2003- 2007 era I play on ps4 any ways of getting it ?

Very good video card! In general the sound is more "clean" on dirt 4, and the noise coming out from surfaces (gravel, tharmac,...) are awesome. But exhaust sound from Group B are best in Dirt - listen the wisle of turbo when you cut off the throtle. By the way, I want a code!
The sound of the cars in Dirt 4 are better but the other ones are garbage. When you crash and roll, there are almost no sounds and when you hit a cone, well that made me laugh...

Dirt rally has better grapich, more location, and it is more intresting. I don't why in game aren't more cars from 90's and early 2000. I sugest Hyundai accent wrc 02, Skoda Octavia wrc evo 3, Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX N4 or R4. 😀
the Audi Quattro's you used to sound compare did not match. in Dirt Rally you used the 70's-80's Group B version, but in Dirt 4 you used the late 80's hill climb variant of the Group B..now I can probably guess that you didnt really have as big of a selection in Dirt 4 as in Dirt Rally. Other than that good video!
If you want a good simulator, buy Dirt Rally. but if you want an arcade game where the simulation mode is like the same thing as arcade mode, and you LOVE to meet the SAME turn 3 or 4 times on the SAME stage, buy Dirt 4.
I personally hate dirt honestly I dunno how people can say its a good game fair enough its a nice looking game but that's about it. the cars handle like a cornflake box on ice, the slightest tip and the car would zoom off to another planet. If dirt rally had dirt fours handling it would be way way better. I dunno how many times I felt like throwing my PlayStation out the window I had the sell the bloody game in the end im much happier with dirt 4 is miles better in terms of handling could have better graphics though.

dirt rally is completely unforgiving and a true perfectionists game. not for the faint heated.
