I believe this product is not intended to boost performance cars such as the Nissan skyline in this video but cars with smaller engine displacement ranging from 0.8L to 1.5L. Looking forward to another test of this product on a K-car.
Absolutely agree with you . The bigger the engine that revs higher , the less effective this would be . And with a smaller engine it would get ahead and reva. Lot higher as turbines rev a lot higher when they are pumping more than what the amount used is... That's why a vacuum cleaner revs higher when you block the pipe
This series is cool and you can do so much with it. You should always have a few of these backlogged so you can have vlogs ready in case you need it. Daiki seems to be fitting in well. Keep up the awesome work !!
Its a 3 phase brushless motor and you just don’t get any more power out of it by over voltage on the controller. Needs more frequency out of the controller and you might get more out of it before the winding blows.
I love this series gives me nostalgia having my rb25de with a electric blower while me and dah boys were thinking we picked up 20hp while we really jus where getting high off exhaust fumes
Yo! Try putting 2 of those throw a small intercooler system than do tests with that orange fan you have to simulate air coming into the intercooler. That plus the 2 electric turbos hopefully show results 💪🏼
I think it might work if you moved the motor away from the turbine wheel and but it on a bigger gear, with a belt to the small turbine wheel....so when the motor spins the big wheel around once(360) the turbine housing spins 360 10 or so times. Whatever it takes to get the turbine wheel to 120,000rpms.
Dyno procedure for automatic transmission. Shift to 1st or low. Upshift to second. Shift to D to get into 3rd, then shift back to 2nd to lock trans in 3rd. Do your dyno pulls in 3rd because it's usually the direct drive gear.
You should revisit this and use it for a supplementary support by adding a Y joint one to stock intake and the other to the turbo and in theory it can only add extra flow you could even double up the turbos making it twin with 2 Y joins
Lab coats 👊 What a great collaboration with GCG to utilise a decent dyno. It could not handle the juice and was more of a restrictor. Sugoi to reality. In the bin .. Arigato. Peace & best wishes 🤘✌️🇯🇵🇦🇺
I'm thinking of letting your shy electrician friend swap the electric motor to something that's better quality that spins faster to see if it actually would make boost
yes exactly. if the rotor clearance and bearings are good then technically you can put in an insanely fast motor with an esc to get it up to 100k rpm. I want to do this myself but do want to spend the money
ESC and electric motor...... that reminds me of all my 1/10 scale RC cars. Can somebody educate this event and tell him where the electronic speed control comes into play. I know it's a year old comment but I would like to know. Thanks and have a blessed day, Lee
There are multiple issues with electric turbo's that can be overcome. 1. They are intially a restriction, which can be fixed by a by-pass valve. 2. They don't spin at very high RPM 3. 12VDC can never produce the power required to provide meaninful boost 4. You need at least a 48VDC system 5. including a large bank of Super Capcitors will significantly add instant power for the motor to draw upon. 6. The good ones are very expensive. 7. Best available on the market is The Torqamp made in Holland.
Maybe a bit of an odd question but I didn't see in the video. When you set it up for the 24v did you keep your switch line at 12v? The controller system might be able to handle passing through a higher voltage but if your control switch line was changed to 24v also it may have been overloading the controller leading to it overheating and shutting down. The motor itself can probably take 24v at least for longer than it was running in the video. It looks like a controller problem caused by overload the way it would turn on then turn itself off and eventually not turn on again for a bit while it cooled down and changed back to 12v.
I feel like the electric turbo could have allot of potential maybe if you got a more powerful electric turbo and get a device that changes the rpm of the electric turbo as you go up in rpm with the engine so it doesn’t just ho full power as soon as it’s turned on
It wont help no matter what you do because the motor cant spinn it fast enough. The eermp or kV is too low. I would like to see if you can put a brushless inrunner rc car motor on it instead. They can provide 5000 -20 000w so this have been proven to work. It would would be fun to see you guys use a cheap but big rc motor with correct kV rating with regards to the 12V to spin it fast enough. I guess the guys at the shop can give you an estimate for when that diameter turbo begins to work.
LOL maybe you can mount this in the back seat of the car and kick it on to clear the smoke out of the inside of the car? How about one of those go-kart racing places you have gone to in the past see if one of those guys will let you hook it up to the kart and take it for a spin. Why not the k-carr I bet you will find something that it works for. Other than that it's pretty much a glorified hair blower!
I think it’s too small and doesn’t spin fast enough. Also you’d probably need a standalone to make the boost curve more linear or to mimic the curve of a real turbo. That way you don’t need a switch and it wouldn’t be 0 or 100
I am very interested in knowing about the gadget you hook the tire too I've been trying to turn an old car into a generator and this was the closest I could ever fine of achieving this gold can you tell me is this possible and can that gadget help me with this , can you also tell me about the price or is it any other device similar to it what we are asking about.
Why don't you try with bypass? Extra hose for turbo hooked at the side of main, so you have no restriction in air flow, and get more boost from turbo when you turn it on...
Change the motor in the "turbo" may be use a high power RC motor along with an ESC be interesting to see if a more powerful motor say 60v+ can get it up to the power needed to make a little boost
electric turbo could work if the tech used in hybrids were applied like ac volts from an inverter matched with a motor wired for it and use gears pretty possible I think
Easier to just use the Hybrid HV battery with a transformer to bring the HV (over 280 VDC in my hyhi ) down to 48 VDC. This is about as high a DC voltage that is safe as far as electrical hazard. I worked years in Motor Control Applications. At least once a month someone would call and think they invented something like this. One of the things being overlooked is that it would be easy to use something like this to get rid of pumping losses from the engine. That is, the 'blower' is just reducing the vacuum level and not really creating over-boost. I believe you could increase MPG at least 3%. The motor control would be very simple. The other application is to use one of these to pre-boost a real turbocharger. In effect, allowing the use of a larger conventional turbo on a car. And, testing this on a V6 engine was wrong out the gate.
I have a test for the electric turbo, try putting it on your motor scooter. the engine is small enough maybe see a gain that's if it could be rigged up.
as previously stated, in theory it should 'work' - the thing i learned is, engines need a lot of air !!! a lot !!! i was shocked at how little power that car has. i'd still like to see inside the control box. silly/educational content is great fun. well done mate!! :)
Forgive my ignorance, but if you got a quality electric motor and a good turbo blade and housing, could it make better boost? I mean electric motors are instant ( well almost) so like in theory with the right combo it could make faster boost no?
I LOVE YOU SAM..I hope everything’s well with mae and the baby you inspire me to make content keep makin these bangers and I’ll always keep supporting since day 1…LOVE YOUUU !! ❤️💯
It will make no odds to the results, but an automatic gearbox in drive with OD off is closer to 3rd gear in a manual gearbox,OD on locks the torque convertor and gives 1:1 ratio same as 4th in manual gearbox,it would give a higher power number slightly if the auto box is not slipping/working correctly has fresh ATF and filter pick up,I guess the skyline has a well used box so it will read lower due to some slip from well used fluid due a change
I believe this product is not intended to boost performance cars such as the Nissan skyline in this video but cars with smaller engine displacement ranging from 0.8L to 1.5L. Looking forward to another test of this product on a K-car.

Cleetus did this same video and more like it a year ago
Sometimes no vlogs is better than lame vlogs.
Daiki is indeed a great addition to the vid lol
Diaki is such a great addition to this channel and what your doing is amazing
Its a 3 phase brushless motor and you just don’t get any more power out of it by over voltage on the controller. Needs more frequency out of the controller and you might get more out of it before the winding blows.
a 6s / 24v controler would be an interesting upgrade. at 24v instead of 12v its rpm should double.
I love it. Sam said "were obviously running this with no filter" and the first thing that popped in my head was "that weird, he never has a filter."
I love this series gives me nostalgia having my rb25de with a electric blower while me and dah boys were thinking we picked up 20hp while we really jus where getting high off exhaust fumes

So literally a centrifugal supercharger. You can just buy one.

I already suggested to put it on the little two stoke scooter you got.. it will definitely boost it .
conventional 2strokes wont be easy to turbocharge. if it even works in the first place
I wonder if it would make power on a smaller engine? turbo looks to be about the same size as the gt1446 that comes on the Fiat 500 abarth

Yes, true history
Pero como se puede poner un ESC de 48VCC en este Turbo barato? Yo quiero hacer la prueba sin dejarme los más de 2000€ de TorqAmp Gracias!

You could try putting the compressor on a belt (like a weird turbo/supercharger mix)
Brah I'm not gay but Daiki's smile cures depression lol, protect him at all costs 😂
garage 54 used a starter motor for forced induction and they saw good results so a more powerful version of this should be pretty good
Si pero como se desmonta el motor del turbo para cambiarlo por otro realmente potente?
why are people so desperate to be the first comment just enjoy the video
Lol right it's 126th lmao who gaf 🤣
You deffo wanted that first comment but missed out

1st comment
Right ! Im first no i was first no you were first thats what i said first no im first tho on the first ! Its dumb ! LoL
I thought it would do something but not alot. Im impressed it hurt more then helped.
Should of used a y pipe before afm it would actually make power because it wouldnt cause a restriction and the eturbs would push positive air in
It was intended for 12volt, unless theres a selector for 24 volts
Did you exchange or returned it?
I feel like the electric turbo could have allot of potential maybe if you got a more powerful electric turbo and get a device that changes the rpm of the electric turbo as you go up in rpm with the engine so it doesn’t just ho full power as soon as it’s turned on
Yea, the idea is sound, connected to OBD2 it could read the RPM and using ESC it could then adjust the accordingly. It just need better motor.
Ok now do it with 6 electric turbos. One for each cylinder! For science of course
Or mod a strong motor in it. Something that can spin 30k
for cleetus mcfarland doing this 3 years ago, with lab coats and all, you got it right with the air flow meter on the air inlet side lol
I have a 16 valve 1.6 carrbed. with a HKS hood was hoping to have a drawthrough setup
Awesome video as always Sammit. Instead of throwing it away fix to use as a hair dryer for you a May at home.
Dude I was just getting ready to comment, give the turbo more voltage then he did it. I love this guy!

part of me wants to rebuild it with a 48v motor and some 3d printed gears. with a small like lipo bat pack and a 48v controler
It's funny when sam ask the guy to rebuild his electric turbo and the guy laugh then suddenly stop laughing and say nooo
I have rb20e also, wonder what would be needed to make it rev higher rpm, as the design seem to be good at it
2 videos out of the $80 wish turbo .
Solid effort
I think it’s too small and doesn’t spin fast enough. Also you’d probably need a standalone to make the boost curve more linear or to mimic the curve of a real turbo. That way you don’t need a switch and it wouldn’t be 0 or 100
The thing which is being overlooked is the fact that pcv is normaly fed into the intake pipe, and would therefor cause a boost leak.
Would be interesting What happens if you put a real compressor wheel inside this housing.
Don't trash it install a bigger electric motor to the compressor wheel it let it eat until it really blows that would be sickkkk!
lol. this thing is totally amusing.
the coolest thing is the Brit speaking Japanese. AWESOME dude. Awesome.
Why don't you try with bypass? Extra hose for turbo hooked at the side of main, so you have no restriction in air flow, and get more boost from turbo when you turn it on...
More videos like this please it's very interesting and funny too 😂🔥👍
The new crew is funny 🤣
Try it on a small engine
As MCM would say....
"IN THE BIN!!!"
Do you need to do remap when using these
I think the turbo blew up because it was running with the throttle valve closed, assuming back pressure the cause, good show
Maybe try retrofitting your own electric motor to it 👍
I think the ESC inside blew up.. ngl I feel like with a higher volt system , electric turbos could be a thing .
Audi has 48 volt electric turbos on some of there new engines
⛽
@@mentalhospital1701 it's onlt the turbo that's electric and it's for anti lag the engine is still a gas engine
By the way, why you run the skyline on the road? Is it registered already, did you find the paperwork ?
Awesome video-I love tearing shit up!!
First thing you want to do before dynoing an auto is to manual swap it.
Change the motor in the "turbo" may be use a high power RC motor along with an ESC be interesting to see if a more powerful motor say 60v+ can get it up to the power needed to make a little boost
Loving the retro music in recent videos!
To anyone watching, please please please don't install super cheap parts on your car that can blow up inside and cause heaps of damage. :)
Two nerds in the USA took a 95 hp car, used 2 electric turbos and made 100 extra hp. Look online...
Yo when is the og s15 getting the yf bodykit
Torqamp uses 48v to power their kit. Maybe try hooking this wish unit up to separate batteries?? Nevermind just seen it at 24v lol
love the experiment lol completely expected it to fail but hopeful it succeeded 😂

@lewcrowley3710 well said
I'm kind of curious if you run the Turbo off House power To blow it up
the next logical step is 4 electric turbos
Are you evacuating exhaust while compressing manifold pressure?
My Mrs and I cannot agree about dinner, but we can agree a SAMMIT video is always good!!
Maybe try 3pcs of that turbo sir if its work?because the electric turbo is verry small and rb8 engine is verry big
Nice one bro i have eg6 turbo swap H2BA7 jdm
Lol they really are master tuners
More interesting tuning videos from wish please!
dudes try twist switch wich give more power to turbo does make much more sense(ofc there is possibility to burn it but if you go slowly who knows)
Sam does Okamura-San have any yashio body kits ?
Hahahaha so funny what a cool dude letting u use the dyno for this type of test wonder if u could put a rc brushless motor init
Happy to hear your tooth is getting better.
Love the energy!!
Lots of work! Entertaining!
I had hoped it made atleast a tiny bit of power, but nah G, it completely shat itself xD
what about smaller engines like 1.4 and 1.6L?
Gotta love the best Dyno being used to test it
I have a test for the electric turbo, try putting it on your motor scooter. the engine is small enough maybe see a gain that's if it could be rigged up.
Did you tune the ECU for the turbo before the dyno?
Into the trash? I would keep it at the shop as a hair dryer or even a hand dryer in the bathroom to use less paper 😜
Dude this guy living my dream after my car accident it knock me off my tracks 😞ill be back doe keep it up
What's next sammit?? exhaust turbo whistles
Sammit: we just blew up an electric turbo daiki how do you fell
Daiki: mhm
So what would it be like if you stick a realtor born in stick a proper table on it turbo
vous le connecter independent avec un t ou un y pour ma nuire a aspiration naturelle juste en servir de boost.
We laugh at the wish turbo but I feel soon we’ll be seeing some electric turbos soon especially with emissions getting stricter
as previously stated, in theory it should 'work' - the thing i learned is, engines need a lot of air !!! a lot !!!

Funny I'm starting to see the vids
As I did something similar with an old ko3 and run it of a belt of bottom pulley 10yrs back not a dc motor
Actually in the Jatco 4spd auto, 3rd is 1:1 and 4th is OD
Thanks Daniel! pretty cool fella!
Here's an idea. You could put that canned air freshener in it and use it as a turbo boosted air freshener.
It's like the JDM version of Cleetus McFarland next we will get to see Dr. Spay'mall make a visit
I wanna see that turbo on a low powered scooter or motorcycle
The electric motor needs to be connected to a doubler to literally double the turbine's speed in the housing for meaningful air flow.
