    Great that you’re showing this option as many don’t realise there are a number of ways to work your way into yacht ownership. I think this is a very good first step. Well done for working with Princess to bring awareness of this option. Beautiful boat and amazing use of 64ft!

    It's quite possible that I built the engine exhaust system for this lil beauty. I worked for HMI from 03 until 12. There were only a few of us who built them so, it's about a 1 in 5 chance it was me.

      @Mr Perfect it amazes me the lengths some people will go to troll. You're here trying to call someone a lier and, get a raise from someone for, saying they used to build bits for boats.

      @@StubieWan as someone whos worked in the industry would you say that yachts in general are overpriced? my initial thought watching these videos was that the engineering and labor to put these things together would cost a ton and i dont get how they break even, especially when they probably dont sell a ton of these.

But now, I watch all of Nick's videos the day they come out and I catch myself daydreaming about boats now. When I was younger and healthier I wanted to fix up a pontoon boat. That always seem like it would be fun. I live in Michigan where there is no shortage of lakes.

    Another superb yacht tour. The shared ownership scheme is a great idea especially when you get a share of the money back when the boat is sold. I love the interior of this yacht, slick and not overwhelming and personally I prefer the galley to be behind the helm as this allows the main upper saloon area wide open access to the outside aft deck.

    We have a Fairline Corniche 31 which is currently out of the water for anti-fouling and anodes. I couldn't imagine sharing it with anyone else even if it did reduce the running costs. There are a lot of personal touches you can add to a boat but if there are seven other owners that's not really possible.
    It's a lovely boat though, and yet again a beautifully filmed and presented walk through.
    Many thanks and best regards, Dave.

    • @AQUAHOLIC
      @AQUAHOLIC  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Corniche is a great boat! They don't make 'em like that anymore, sadly. Know what you mean about outright ownership - this set up isn't for everyone as I said in the video, but it will make a great deal of sense for some.

    A lot of this share type ownership is done with aircraft and has been for years. Works slightly better for planes because people don't generally live on it as opposed to use it for transport, therefore go and return and it's back for another shareholder to use.
    As for this particular boat, I really liked it and the layout. Amazingly spacious design.

    I thought this was a good buy until I heard that the price was just a 1/8th interest in use which may be a good buy for those who want that kind of a deal. But I am looking for something to live on long term. Don't get me wrong, it is a beautiful yacht but I may have to look at something smaller which would cost a bit less in mooring cost also.

    Nice boat. My limited understanding of shared ownership, based on word of mouth, is that nobody wants to use it in the winter and every share holder wants it for the summer holidays so the disadvantage is that you rarely get access to it when you ideally want to. Therefore chartering is better from that perspective.

      @@AQUAHOLIC yes Nick but if you are a true boater you will learn to do lots of things your self , i wish I could afford a Defever 53 , the v.i.p cabin is excellent. Just my opinion. The boaters i know do a lot of stuff for their boats

      As I said in the video, this isn't for everyone and if you are a 'hands on' boater, it probably isn't for you. But many people have neither the time nor inclination to boat regularly or look after it, and for them this could work very well.

    Great content as always! I wonder why companies like Princess, Sunnseeker etc don't use solar panels on their yachts?

    • @RubberDucc
      @RubberDucc 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you have to money to buy it, you have the money to burn the fuel that is needed for keeping everything going. Also it's not a lot of space for panels and the open sea is way to harsh of a environment for solar panels.

    I actually like the idea of partial ownership. It takes the Hugh responsibility of upkeep off of you and the time that you actually use it can be spent on truly enjoying your time rather than on all the boating upkeep needs.

    If we say you get half your purchase cost back after 4 years, that's 75k + 80k running cost = 155k / 16 weeks = 9.7k per week. Have 6 friends chip in 1k per week each, that's 3.7k yourself per week for a great trip with friends!

    I'm not sure about spending well over $150,000 for four weeks a year...you could just pony up for a little more and get a slightly older but still fantastic boat all for yourself. This was an excellent tour though, I like your style!

    AQUAHOLIC Thanks for these fantastic videos! Question: what would be the typical resale value of your ⅛? You pay $150k, after the 4 years, how much would you typically get back? For other viewers: 4 weeks a year = 28 days @ $20k = $714/day.

    I'm trying to catch up on your videos. I love this yacht. Not sure why there's a crew quarters on a 64. Ok I kind of do, less work and more fun with guests, but it's an owner/operator size, nice touch though. Was wondering if any of the yachts have central vacuum systems? My 41 had one and they are fantastic. I don't think I could have another without it. Awesome tour Nick.

      It's both owner-operator sized but also charter sized. It's not really for someone to captain the boat for you, not on a long term basis, but it's certainly of the right size a couple (a captain, and his wife doing catering and cleaning and other helping) to crew it for families who holiday. See Nicks very own "we chartered a Princess" set of videos.
