I was the skipper of an Elegance 76 exactly like this, it was a fantastic charter yacht costing well over 3 million euros when new. We used to joke it would pass anything on the water, except a fuel station. The bow and stern thrusters made leaving the dock sideways very impressive. Wonderful yacht.
It’s actually bigger and nicer than apartments at a 300K price tag. Just sell the motor, put it in a trailer park, move in and still feel like a captain 😅
🤔 300 k for the boat. Maybe 200 k for the refitting or renewal of some things.. Drive it to a land and harbor where the cost is low.... work in home office... so a seaside apartment for maybe less cost than an actual apartment in a 5 -10 year period due to taxation, and you can take it with you...
I wouldn't touch it with somebody else's 10 foot pole. Drettmann yachts were never known to be very high quality units. I believe they went bankrupt about 14 years ago due to the high costs associated with all the used boats they took back as trade-ins on bigger boats. If anyone wants to buy it, make sure you get a reputable, independent, professional surveyor to check it out. That boat is going to cost you way more than 315K.
The second he stepped into the galley I thought to myself well that’s the water system all needs pulling out and renewing. For both the clean water the grey and the black. Because it’s gonna be 28 years of Ming inside the system
I love the fact people say it needs updating, class and quality don't need updating... Most peoples homes aren't this opulent, a great live aboard, when apartments in the UK are £500k for a 600 sft box...
What a huge boat which can sleep ten people comfortably, although several areas would need a complete refit but that said it's a steal at the price you have it up for sale at, A definate Airbnb in somewhere like St. Katherine's dock though! I personally don't think she will be on the market for long with those massive 'Shout' doors and spacious lounge areas, a lovely honest video as usual James.
Wow definitely a bargain, it may look a bit dated but it still looks in great condition, it only needs a touch up here and there, you could spend a million on it and it would still be a bargain. Great boat great tour thank you guys.

And Elegances are of a massive built quality. I have a 54 and I'm very satisfied. Even if the price sounds very attractive, you need to spend plenty of money for repairs which needs to be done plus annually a big budget for service.
Beauty , perfect size to explore the channels , the fjords and coves of the Chilean Patagonia and its 40k plus islands , not a tropical area but beautiful , 315k pounds? Nice
Low price means will probably mean owner will need to spend several million during the first year of ownership to get it up to standard. It 's the old adage - a boat is a hole in the water you throw money into. The older the boat and the bigger the hole the more money is needed to fill the hole and it never ends.
Curious to know what it cost when new, James? In 1983, my father-in-law bought a brand new Princess 35 (or 36?) for around £35k. I’ve seen those same boats now fetching over £40k. You’d know far better than I but I reckon a lot of boats hold their value if you buy well and look after them. PS Our Parker 850 that Dan fleeced me for 😂 is now over 2yrs old… with 240 engine hours… but pristine… probably worth what we paid or close to, as a new one will now cost nearly £180k.
3k is not bad at all. If you sell your house and car, just make one payment and park in the river. Parking in a marina will be an extra $100k per year.
What a great boat. Depending upon the full survey given its age, could be a real bargain for somebody who is prepared to do a complete refit as a hobby. If a new Fleming 65 costa around 5 million Euro, leaves a lot of fat to bring this up to a level far in excess of the Fleming 65 and rival a lot of new boats on the market.
After studying the cost breakup and looking at my payslip, I have decided that I can definitely afford the fuel costs per year. So if anyone else can afford the rest of the stuff but can't afford the fuel on top... then we are good to go.
I’d have to change the wood colour to white with maybe red or black to break it up ,new sofas ,create a dining area big fridge freezer cabins change the sofa in main cabin new wardrobes ,flooring bring the electrics up to date new screens
28 years old so everything is either broken or about to break and boats cost much more to fix than houses. Though I suppose you could buy some green belt land, dig out a small pond, float tne boat and have a home without the necessity of obtaining planning permission.
Buy it, bring it to NYC area. Pay the marina fee and it’ll still be cheaper than anything remotely close to that size in that area. By a very very very large margin
Super good presentation and very nice host, lads, the boat is incredible, unbeatable quality and price, if I could I would buy it right now hahaha, greetings, I subscribe now 😃
