- Today we're looking at the Military Armament Corporation MAC 9DS. While the features are pretty standard when it comes to 2011's, what makes this double stack 9mm 1911 stand out is the affordability.
We briefly go over to how we got to the double stack 1911 and their purpose, the included feature set, shoot it a bit and finally discuss our thoughts and why we like this pistol.

My man great commentary in video! I first shot a 1911 in the 1970's it was my uncles war pistol and he slept with it under his pillow at night and I was scared to go in his room to wake him up. At the time I was 8 or nine years old I spent summers with him at my grandmother's house in N.C. After she passed. He took care of the property each summer and my parents took me because I wanted to be with him. That's when I fell in love with a 1911, been in love ever since!!! Now I like the 2011's/DS pistols because after all it's a 1911 platform evolution..! 😎
I purchased the Mac 9 five weeks ago. At 2650 rounds through it, it is performing excellent. Not one failure or hiccup. The barrel to frame lock up is done perfectly. Both mags work flawlessly too. Last week I put a 11 pound recoil spring in it and a different sear. It didn’t need these, I just wanted it to be a certain way. I was initially impressed with this pistol after I completely disassembled it and looked at the parts. This Mac 9 is assembled really great. I’m very very pleased with the Mac 9. Hey, maybe I got one that was done right, maybe I got lucky, I don’t know. Thanks!!
I just picked this gun up last week, I wanted to point out that frame of the gun is forged 4140 steel, and the grip is glass filled polymer...
Noted! Our mistake.
@@SUPERIOROUTFITTERSTX No worries, cheers!
I'm glad to see other manufacturers getting into the 2011 market! I'll have to come down to the Broadway shop and check it out!
Anytime!
Another excellent video. Keep up the good work guys!
Thanks! Will do!
What a great video. I love the presentation and narrative. I subscribed. Thank you for this video.
Thank you for the comment and for subscribing!
New subsciber, keeping it short and simple. Good review, keep it up.
Thanks for the sub!
This is my first entry to the 2011 market and was so excited when I got my MAC DS. It shot really well and no complains but my first hand experience shooting with a polymer grip was not as good as when I shoot my Sig P226 MK25. Maybe because I am just new to it but I really love the weight of either a steel or aluminum grips.
It’s definitely hard to compete with more weight in a handgun, so I can’t blame you.
May get this later. I got a prodigy. And I love it.
It’s definitely worth looking into!
Awesome quality handgun and thorough review. The STACCATO's have a plastic trigger and usually get replaced immediately. Looks very promising. Excellent Checkmate magazines and takes STACCATO magazines. PEACE
Idk what it is but i like the way ur going give us more content
We appreciate it!
Online outfitters I did not know y’all had a channel. I’m around 200 rounds on my sample and having frequent FTE causing a double feed. Hopefully it will break in and the trigger pull weight seems a little high
Did you give it a good oiling?
@@SUPERIOROUTFITTERSTX yeah sure did I have been tuning on it finally got it acting ok and trigger has improved significantly but still struggling with slide lock on the last round
Cool
Let's talk holsters for this bad boy...
What holster does this gun work with
Great question, I’ll get back to you!
polymer frame???
It’s a polymer mixture, but yes.
@@SUPERIOROUTFITTERSTX the frame? I can understand the grip being polymer, but I thought the frame and slide are forged stainless steel/ aluminum?
I’m sure he means grip not frame. It’s a glass infused polymer grip with a steel frame. I think it’s 4140 steel.
What is the msrp?
$1100 but street prices are around $980, the tisas version has a street price of $680
@@KNIGHTOFSIN187 thanks.
@@baddadjokes9330I think this is the better out of the 2. I’ve watched a lot of reviews on both and this seems to be the better one all around.
