      I'm a high school drop out with only a GED who also grew up poor. Now at 50 yrs of age I own 3 brick and mortar businesses that do ok. I've always told folks that ask how I did it that I'm not the smartest guy. I'm not even the hardest working guy. But what I've always had is tenacity and investment plans. I don't give up. It may take me longer to cross the finish line. But I will cross it. I was ignorant on so many things when I first took over my first investment. But I learned and grew. I'm a slow learner also. But again, I keep going, I pray that anyone who reads this will be successful in life too. 🙏🙏🙏

    I always did good in school but almost never studied. And the fact that I did better than most of my peers with minimal effort became a reason to look down on most results. And I always just wanted to be the smartest one not the most disciplined. But as I grew up and once my course work and all aspects of life started to require for more discipline my grades went down and also did most other parts of my life. It always struck me how I was smarter than most people around me but had less results. It was a couple years ago I realized the same thing you said. I now understand and remind my self that GOD MADE THOUGHTS FOR ACTION not so that we be amazed by them. And DISCIPLINE COMES FROM CHARACTER TALENT IS GIVEN SO IT'S NOTHING TO BE PROUD OF.

    "Even if the action is poor action, you're gonna learn something from it. And it's so easy to talk yourself out of action". Knowing that you will struggle while trying to build on a weak skill set is what still holds me back from actually taking action... I'm reaching the peak of a threshold where I realize that as I get older at my office job, Im coming to the realization that if you underperform, or make no effort to atleast sound like you're taking the steps to develop as a college educated employee, communication with someone your age who is working hard is very embarrassing...Im at the point where the pain of staying the same is becoming more painful than the pain of change!!

  • @wesleycardinal8869
    @wesleycardinal8869 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    Simple but profoundly true. I found that having a high IQ causes me to overthink which leads to me locking up, procrastinating, delaying. Action OTOH seems to unblock me. I have a trick to help me get going - for example I have established a habit of doing something in the garden every day. I just pull on my boots, walk outside and do one thing. I do this almost without thinking, and it is my kickstart action. Once I'm out there I usually find something that needs doing and I get stuck in. But the mental attitude is that all I am required to do is to pull on the boots and go out and do one thing. It can be as simple as putting some tools away or pulling a weed out. Like the starting circuit in a car, the initial action is easy to achieve, but leads to a cascade of other actions. It's all about showing up.👍🇦🇺

    "Life rewards action, not intelligence" is a powerful reminder that success is often less about how much we know and more about what we do with what we know. While intelligence is valuable, it’s action that transforms ideas into results. Many people possess great knowledge or potential, but without taking steps to apply that knowledge or move forward, their potential remains untapped.
    Action is what propels us toward growth, learning, and achievement. It's the willingness to try, to fail, to persist, and to adapt that leads to real progress. Whether it's starting a project, overcoming challenges, or taking risks, those who act are the ones who move forward, create change, and build something meaningful.
    This idea also reinforces the importance of resilience and effort in the face of setbacks. Intelligence alone may not lead to success if it’s not accompanied by determination and consistent action. It’s the actions we take, regardless of how small, that compound over time and lead to success. Life doesn’t reward passivity or hesitation; it rewards those who take bold steps, embrace challenges, and keep moving forward with purpose.
    In the end, it’s about showing up, staying committed, and making things happen. Intelligence is important, but it’s action that turns dreams into reality.

They make so much sense in the moment, but really, if we'd only just put in the work and ACT, we would actually see results. Life is not going to reward the one thousand ideas you have, but it will reward the ACTIONS that you take. The ideas stay in your head. The actions affect the world.

I haven’t always use the principal, but I’ve always known about the concept in my adulthood have used the principal daily, particularly more so when I became the father, and these this idea is probably one of the most fundamental concepts that is not talked about enough life rewards action not intelligence. Many people will confuse this with saying oh well you don’t have to be intelligent. There has to be a bit of intelligence a spark I think even to take action so we have to make sure that we use that intelligence as fuel to the action, thank you so much for making this video. Wonderful perspectives. I 'm struggling to close my doctoral thesis and I'm 2 weeks away from completing it. I felt every word you have spoken is relevant for my situation. Every video of yours is like understanding and digesting a book.

    Conor Neill, that's a nice way of saying something simply, but remember that life is not a one way track. Don't use what happened to you as a universal perimeter for going through life, as what happens you may not be the same for another person. Thank you.

    A colleague once said: if only I had done it and not just thought about doing it. That stuck with me. But years later I’m still generally stuck in my head, frustrated by the world and all its complexity, happier with ideas.

    This reminds me of something my late uncle used to say: People don't care about what you say, they care about what you do. Maybe you don't think much about that, but suppose I told you he was the V.P. for International Sales at Boeing Airlines (back when it still had a great reputation)? You might respect what he says more because of his proven track record, which proves his point.

    I think,in the modern day we tend to prioritize being most efficient and optimal in everything we do. So, we tend to try and take short routes discarding some actions as minial and energy and time consuming.Doing these tasks(minial) open up our brain to other possibilities or in the least reinforce what we already know.Also being patient with whatever thing you are doing is vital.
