Yeah, the Porsche faithful who actually want to track it and enjoy it for years are being pushed out. Especially younger buyers who could swing a car at MSRP.
what does ADM stand for? Also, yes. 160k maybe some options... 175ish... man that's a fucking steal. Are they really being marked up to 260k though?!?! WITH options or not?

Thats always the case for first deliveries of a super in-demand car, especially in today's market.
Porsche is not limiting production, and they've massively increased GT car production volumes. So hopefully most buyers can't get one before production ends.

The sound of that engine, and in a Cayman, brings tears to my eyes - absolutely magnificent.
I’m so happy that this car was made. Really makes me wonder how the new ZO6 will sound and drive since it also revs high @8600 RPMs.

Thanks for keeping the videos in the 4k format after that poll. Audio and Visuals are best with it and as someone who has been on 4k since 2014 it's pretty much the standard now.

Porsche said the car is unlimited production which means everyone should be able to get one. The dealer has no problem getting ppl onto the list but they wanna jip customers 6 figures first. The car at MSRP is a no-brainer but I ain’t trading in my manual GT4 and drop another 150K+ on top just for a gt3 engine. 300K for a gt4Rs just ridiculous. Porsche headquarter needs to regulate the greedy dealers and let us get a chance to enjoy the car.

5:18 I love my GT4 RS. FYI that you can get the Weissach package without the magnesium wheels but if you select magnesium wheels then you have to also get the Weissach package. Good thing I wanted both!
I love the gauges on the Cayman, way more sporty than the new ones on the 992 which are too “luxury” focused.
This is my favorite gauge cluster. I’m not a fan of a digital gauge clusters that most manufacturers are moving towards. At least this cluster won’t be aging terribly.
@@BobbyBimmer to Alfa's credit they have a similar binnacle. You get digital and regular analog gauges.

Incredible car… but for what they’re actually going for with ADM (assuming you can even get an allocation) the DeMan or BGB route is still going to be a far better value for most people assuming it’s not a dedicated track toy.

Great review. Porsche is just knocking it out of the ballpark with every new GT models they are putting out. Can’t even imagine what the GT3RS (and GT2RS, if they decide to make one) would be like. Wow.
I’m glad I can say I had the opportunity to see and sit in this cayman especially the weisbach package when I seen it at the Amelia this year this is deftly one of the best cars to drive from the styling to performance and the watch that you can purchase with it
I can't wait for the dive into this at the next crew show. Also, would be good to hear about differences between this mid-engine vs the rear-engined gt3 or even a 992 gts...

Next one will be EV i'm sure of it. This generation of ICE is it, development has stopped. VAG, Merc, and BMWs next gens will all be at the very least EV/hybrid and they've been very transparent about it. This car is potentially the absolute pinnacle of Porsche. A true holy grail car.

@@roksys69 the next gen Aventador absolutely has a V12. It's just going to be a hybrid one. Big whoop. Porsche have invested heavily into synthetic fuels so as much as they'll embrace EVs, they will not ditch the ICE

Great review of a great car. Incredible how my base 981 Cayman has a similar sound, although not the high revs obviously.

I know it 'just came out' but I can't help but wonder how delightful this would be with a free-flowing exhaust, perhaps with custom headers and some love from the folks at Manthay Racing. Can't wait to see what they got coming for this beast
Excellent review Matt! That sound is epic! Given your experience with the gentian blue gt3 touring w/ manual, if you were forced to pick one car between that touring and the GT4RS for daily use and 15-20 track days, which would you take?

I did a track day at the Bedford Autodome UK.There were a variety of sports cars available including Mercedes, TVR, Lotus Elise, Aston, some Caterhams and a couple of Porsches, the cars were all used hard during the day but the only cars still running at the end of the day were the two Porsches and one Mercedes, all the others had either mechanical issues or had chewed up their tyres.

That car is beautiful. The wheels look amazing. Grey in some light and blue in other light. Very cool.
People go on about VTEC but the sound change of this from 8-9k is amazing
And now imagine a VTEC on one of these.
VTEC is just an excuse for having no torque at low rpm. The most overrated tech in car engine history hyped up by JDM fanboys.

At Porsche they are masters of packaging, I can't imagine how hard it is for the engineering team work around the bodywork constrains and not change crucial parts of the car that otherwise would need to be re-homologated, all of that while making it reliable and workable on the assembly line. I honestly don't think Porsche makes much margin on these. Can't wait to see what an MR version would be like.
2nd GT4RS video review in a row in my notifications...one more to go! Fun stuff! Looked so damn gorgeous at the LA autoshow. Getting kinda sad about ICE going away...and this is coming from someone who has an i4 M50 on the way this summer. Sigh...can only to drive a proper Porsche before I check out lol (I don't think a Macan counts, according to my clinic boss who is a Porsche 992.1 GT3 owner)

Nice review, that car is very cool and exactly what people have been saying about the Cayman for years…. If they do that, it would be great. They did, nice to see they did it right. Edit: that honestly might just be the video but that looked faster than I can think. I’m probably always going to be happier in something about the speed of a Miata.

My good friend got one at List... What... He put down a deposit over 5 years ago on the off chance that the thing was ever made. Back then they would not even talk about if one was going to be made. Last month he gets his notice from the Dealer that he will get one and fill out the build sheet. He was shocked. He may be one of the few "regular" people to get one. He is not a buyer of the 918, nor has he bought 7 Turbo S. Just got lucky and put down a deposit.I can't wait to see how he specs it out.
I know other people are gonna be like “just show us the car grrr drive” but I enjoyed the pacing of a slow informal beginning and then BOOM ACTION 9K REDLINE

My dealership claims customers are offering 100k in ADM….. customers are offering that to get one…customers…good luck getting one! Cars are absolutely not a fun hobby right now.

The obvious answer for you Matt is to get the GT4RS and send it to Deman to punch it out to 4.5L which takes it to over 600hp (as Rick has already done to the GT3).

Great explanation about the big changes between the regular GT4 and the RS. That sound is insane. Too bad it will take at least two years to get one unless you are a 918 VIP or get lucky enough to get the opportunity to pay a $150k or higher dealer mark-up over sticker. Thats $320, 000 optioned like this one. McLaren money. By the way, at the speeds you were hitting, I was glad to see you were wearing a helmet. I think you should consider wearing a fireproof suit though next time. No matter how good a driver you are, on a track at anything over 7/10ths things can get out of control fast and a fire can happen. Not something you want to happen to you in short sleeves. Be safe out there so you can keep on making more videos!
Finally, Porsche did it! And based on the reaction everyone is having, it IS as epically good as we all expected it would be!
